Description of Work: Replaced my washer's motor and controller. It was a difficult job due to dryer being stacked on top of washer in a tight space. It was hard to access, but they got it done. They were very nice and professional, and cleaned up after the work was done very nicely.

 + -1 moreThe other day I noticed my washer had stopped in the middle of the wash cycle. I had a washer full of water and I could not restart the washer. I called Sherman's, told them what the problem was and Marc showed up an hour or so later. He was very friendly, and knew exactly what the problem was. He replaced the switch and my washer was working again.
Description of Work: Marc replaced a broken lid switch inside the washer.

 + -1 moreOur freezer and refrigerator decided to stop working last night and about 8pm I called Mark, expecting to leave a message and he picked up. He was very cordial and said he'd come by the next day in the afternoon. He came as scheduled (was even waiting on our doorstep as we were late getting home and he wasn't upset at all), and was an absolute pleasure. You can tell he's incredibly knowledgeable and no frills - doesn't try to sell you anything you don't NEED. He went out, got parts the same day, and fixed it within an hour. He will certainly be the first person we call with any appliance issue. A true professional through and through. Thanks Mark!
Description of Work: Freezer and refrigerator stopped cooling completely - no ice, nothing. Mark removed ice build up, replaced the water line, replaced the defrost heater unit and adaptive control.

 + -1 moreOn Nov. 10, our washing machine went on the fritz. I went on Angie's List, saw that Sherman's was local and rated highly, and called. I described the symptoms -- the machine made a sickly whirr, but did not spin or drain -- and asked whether it sounded like the washer was worth repairing. Marc Sherman, the owner, said it sounded like the pump, not the motor, and therefore an easy fix; he offered to come by the next day, despite the holiday. During the service call, he was prompt, friendly and patient with my questions volleyed over his shoulder. He quickly confirmed his hunch -- a sock in the pump -- and recommended that to avoid repeating the problem, we run smaller loads with less detergent. We've had no trouble since.
Description of Work: Repaired a washing machine -- found and removed a baby sock jamming the pump.

 + -1 moreI have used Marc before for a dishwasher problem. He is incredibly responsive. I called him and gave him the plumber's opinion. He asked a couple more questions and stated 9 times out of 10 you don't need a regulator (cost of $80-100). Came a few hours later made a simple repair and job done! You will never go wrong using Marc Sherman Appliance
Description of Work: Repaired stove gas leak plumber said the leak was in the regulator and the regulator needs to be replaced.

 + -1 moreVery knowledgeable guy. Very customer friendly and honest. The fact that he followed up the appointment with a call about another possibility was unexpected and welcome! Can't think of anytime that I have had that type of service.
Description of Work: In a recently remodeled kitchen using the same dishwasher after the plumber put it back in it started to leak in the back sometimes during mid cycle. Marc came out to diagnose a dishwasher mystery leak in the back of the unit while washing. Despite several cycles we could not duplicate the problem. Nevertheless he leveled the machine setting it properly where the plumber had not done so on the re-installation. He was very thorough in checking all the feed line and waste hose. About 20 minutes later he called back with another idea. This particular dishwasher has an integrated hose that runs on a glass washing cycle. We are going to try that cycle with the machine pulled out to see if that was it. Will keep you posted!
