MasonWorks entire team is very easy to work with. They provided a detailed quote and contract. They answered all my questions and brought samples over quickly so that we could proceed in a timely way. They arrived as promised and completed the work in 2 days. My husband and I are very pleased with the outcome and highly recommend this company.

They were responsive in setting up the appointment, however showed up a full hour before the designated time. Jeff was very professional when he met with me, however the price quoted me was double the price of the other 2 quotes I got from fellow A Rated Angie's List professionals for the same job.

Junior and the crew were wonderful. Junior was very responsive to my questions and even helped order a special paver to memorialize our dog who we had just lost. The crew who did the install were great - very efficient and professional. I would highly recommend this company.

I had hired Masonworks 2 years to rebuild a section of retaining wall. This time they rebuilt (and moved the slightly to widen the driveway) another section of wall, as well as repointed the exposed chimney in the basement and rebuilt the chimney above the roof line.

The team at MasonWorks did a fantastic job replacing both our rear steps and patio. Jeff came out and worked with me on the specifics of how the team would address the sewage issue that left a slightly toxic smell under the patio. He then also walked me through how permeable pavers would help with draining going forward as well. The team then came out and executed their plan to perfection and in a crazy quick timeline. My wife and I were extremely pleased with the service and would recommend them for any masonry work needed. In fact, we are going to ask them to come back and look at our condo building's granite steps.

Walkway looks much better with the pavers and have not had any issues.

Masonworks responded to my inquiries promptly from start to end. I appreciated the prompt email communication as I prefer to handle things electronically if possible. Scheduling for the project was challenging, but once the guys got started, they completed the project very quickly in less than a week. During demo, they were careful with the new rain gutters that myself and my neighbors had just installed. Any concerns and questions I had were responded to promptly. My backyard is finally looking habitable for a garden, the new paved patio is looking fresh and clean, and everyone comments on how lovely the blue slate front walkway looks. The guys were also very friendly, and I've had nothing but professional and kind interactions with Masonworks.

I contacted Masonworks in early October to extend my driveway. I wanted to open up my driveway to park an additional car and to help with snow removal during the wintertime. I was also going to fence the area in using another company immediately afterwards. Masonworks did an assessment and sent a contract over for me to sign very quickly. I signed the contract the next day and they promised to start work in 2 weeks before the ground freezes over. After weeks of no news I contacted them again in November. They explained that they were just waiting on materials and it would take a few more weeks to start. By the time December came still no news... Finally, after I called a last time they promised to start work in Late December. By then, the fencing company already told me it was too late to dig because the ground has already frozen over. They advised me that it would be unwise to do the driveway so late into the season. Now I'll have to wait until spring to start this project. Very unprofessional and disappointmented.

The work was well done. I was critical of one minor area which they corrected immediately.

Work crew led by John were fantastic. Very professional and excellent workers. Everyone on my street has commented on how good the stairs look. Starting with Jeff Souza and the very detailed, professional quote he presented. I was amazed to see references to Massachusetts state law regarding homeowners' rights and protections. First class company to do business with..Jeff, Bruno and John are exactly the type of people you hope for when you are looking for masonry professionals.

At the end of the day, the steps that MasonWorks built for me were very nice, and exactly what I was looking for. Moreover, I felt the price was fair. The process for getting there, however, was extremely difficult. While the guys who do all the work are VERY hard-working (early in & late out), and Bruno is a super-nice guy that has a good client-facing attitude, Jeff Souza gets upset at the drop of a pin. He has a volatile personality, is aggressive, and is terrible on email. For example, when the color of bricks was a poor match and I offered to pay to re-do the work so the match would be better, he fired off a bunch of unprofessional emails and repeatedly threatened to sue me. The lawsuit threats didn't stop there. All along the way as we worked through the project I was attacked by Jeff, and was told that he wouldn't do things that he was contractually obligated to do. For example, he was supposed to rebuild the brick steps to the original dimensions, per our contract. Instead, he changed the dimensions of the steps and when I asked him to fix it (and told him I would pay to do so), he told me "it can't be done" and then threatened another lawsuit. Of course, since the original stairs were made of the same brick in the same dimension, I knew it could be done, and ultimately convinced him to make it right - of course paying more for the project. I do a lot of work on my house, and I've never come across a contractor with Jeff's attitude - particularly on email. It is abrupt, rude, and highly unprofessional. He angers quickly and never lets up with threats of lawsuits. He is not customer-centric at all. I am sure he will respond and say that I am a terrible customer, but that is just not true. I hire lots of professionals and all of them enjoy working with me because I understand construction and I am wiling to pay more to get what I want. I am creative and have great partnerships with my contractors. We work together to solve problems and I always make sure they make good money. At the end of the day, I would hire someone else to avoid the hassle of dealing with Jeff, despite the positive feelings I have about his crew and Bruno.

Good. There was an issue with the walkway initially but they came back and fixed it.

4 Days from start to finish and it is perfect. Bruno and crew were extremely professional, neat and fast.

Very well. They are clear about their pricing structure; they show up when there's snow, sometimes more than once in a big storm; they do a good job and will pay attention to any special requests. For example, we ask that they not use any salt/de-icing product on the stone path across our lawn (lest it damage the lawn/plants) or on the wooden steps of our porch,so they are careful about that. The cost for each shoveling job depends entirely on the depth of the snow that fell and how much 'extra' work you want them to do.

The team exceeded expectations. Great work and we are very happy with the results. Also great job cleaning up. We would certainly recommend to family and friends.

Fabulous! Not only was this the most affordable estimate of the three we collected, the work itself is absolutely beautiful. We will definitely hire Masonworks again.

They are reliable and do a very thorough and professional job each time. They are responsive to phone calls and we have been very satisfied with the quality of their work and the people they employ.

Very well. Once I had to get out on a difficult day, called and they came quickly and got me out and to work. They are generally on time (early in the morning), and I have not been late to work because they didn't come early.

They do an excellent, full service job. They are a premium service and deserve what we pay them. They are very responsive and communicative when necessary.

I cannot say enough about how well the Masonworks team performed. From receiving a quote to project completion I was treated with the upmost respect. In just 3 1/2 days the team came in and disassembled my old retaining wall and rebuilt it! I consider that outstanding, exceeding all of my expectations!! Not only did the Masonworks team complete my project in 3 1/2 days, they cleaned up after themselves each night before leaving the job. In the end my yard/garden looked better at the end of the project then before. The Masonworks' team acted in a very professional, friendly, and respectful way every time I had discussions with them. The finished retaining wall looks outstanding, see photos below. I have recommended Masonworks to potential customers and friends of mine who are needing masonry work performed. I highly recommend Masonworks!!

Snow removal is thorough and Masonworks is responsive to communications. Our only complaint is that the work is often not done until late in the day or into the evening. We understand that someone has to be last on the list of client sites, but it's frustrating to come home from work at the end of the day and find the walk still not cleared.

For 2 years we have chosen to pay per event. They are very professional and have been reasonably priced. We have not needed snow removal and this is extra.

We did not use them as their price was higher than another company for the same job.
