Masonworks did a fantastic job building a patio into the hill of the backyard. The patio was completed according to schedule, the workmanship was exceptional, and the patio itself is not just functional but absolutely beautiful. Neighbors have walked over just to comment on how great it looks.

MasonWorks was taking over for a contractor who had run out of steam in mid-project, so it was challenging for them...and there were details left un-addressed by the original contractor. They showed up with the right number of people, then they said they'd show up. They immediately identified design issues, and solved them on the spot (a poor layout for the fire pit, and no border design). They free-handed a beautiful layout for the fire pit, and suggested a really nice border design. The job was started on a Wednesday morning. It rained like crazy on Thursday, and they finished Friday. This was after months of playing footsie with my previous contractor. The solved my problem, and left me with a gorgeous patio...quickly and professionally. They also stayed past 5:00 on the last day to get the job done quickly. So, smoothly done.

From quoting the job to finishing up the team was super friendly and professional. They checked in several times to make sure we were on the same page regarding the layout and made excellent suggestions. After completing the masonry work they brought in loam which they graded very neatly and seeded with grass seed.

I initially worked with Junior who came by to give us a quote on several paving projects around the property. Scheduling an initial visit was easy and he was on time. His first was missing part of the work we discussed but he came back to retake some measurements and sent updated information. The quote was competitive, neither lowest nor the highest we got and based on reviews and references we decided to hire Masonworks for the patio part of this project (remainder will take place at later date). Getting a date for the project was quite difficult. I understand it is a busy time, this was a relatively small project and other variable affect timeline but I would go weeks without an update and was never able to get a general timeline (are we talking a month or 6months out). We were not in a hurry to get this done, just wanted to have an idea of when the project would get done. We eventually got a two days notice that work would be starting. I was surprised that no one came to finalize details, such as the exact shape of the patio. We worked that out the day off. The crew was there early and hard at work all day. The whole project was completed over one day which was quite impressive. They worked well and efficiently and cleaned everything before leaving. There was a small issue with a fence post that was bent when they pulled out their truck, but Bruno, the site manager, sent someone to get that fixed for us. we are overall pleased with the results, even if communication was sometimes a bit challenging.

The entire crew at Masonworks was a dream to work with. Their price was competitive with all other quotes we received. And their care and craftsmanship was as good as we could have hoped.

This job went off perfect. The quality of the work was excellent and it was done very quickly. I will hire again for another project in the future. We are thrilled with the end results, they even filled the planter bed with soil which was a nice surprise.

Masonworks did a GREAT job installing my patio. Very professional from the first contact to the job completion- measurements and design were superb and the installation was timely, smooth, and very high quality. The price was very fair as well. I love my new outdoor space and would definitely use Masonworks again. Highly recommended!

Work was done within the agreed time and ended up being done faster than expected. The quality of work was great. I am very happy with the results. The paver patio is exactly what I wanted and the yard is looking excellent. The price was probably mid-range to high-range for the project based on several quotes, but the work was done well and was able to be done in my desired time slot unlike other companies. We had a bit of miscommunication at the start about timing/materials, but it was quickly resolved and everything still ended up being done to the expectations set when I got the quote. Very happy with the project and would hire again in the future!

Excellent service. They do a careful and very good job removing snow. But most importantly, they are completely reliable. No worries about whether they will show up. Very nice and very responsive communications.

They clear our two parking spaces and shovel a path to our door, as well as clearing the sidewalk in front of the house as required by the City of Cambridge! We are again choosing Masonworks for our seasonal snow removal after using them for the past 3 winters. Their pricing is as low as I've seen, they seem to always arrive as soon as weather allows (that is, possibly later in the day after a blizzard, but understandably so), and the few times I've lodged a complaint or requested followup service they have been very responsive.

Jeff and Bruno are responsive and detail oriented, all snow removal at four commercial properties is handled professionally and without incident. Always impressed when I visit a building after a storm with the quality of their work. Pricing and billing are always fair and in accordance with the contract. We hired Jeff and MasonWorks to replace a backyard patio and deck, as well as to replace our front steps and walkway. The end result of both projects exceeded our expectations. Jeff provided extremely helpful design ideas and recommendations for both projects, and the mason and carpentry teams executed the plans in impressive fashion. Both teams worked extremely hard, efficiently, paid attention to detail, and cleaned up at the end of each day. In short, we had an excellent experience with Jeff and his teams, are thrilled with the final result of our projects, and will not hesitate to work them again on future projects.

My house was built in 1886 so of course i was concerned there would be so much more to do. From my first interaction with Jeff Souza to the completion of the job, it was handled with a professional a fine eye for the details with artistry! We are thrilled with end result.. we I have to say the craftsmanship made all my a little jealous!!

Bruno & crew arrived at precisely the scheduled 7:30am start time. After 6 hours of steady work, the craftsmen/artisans of Masonworks successfully and efficiently completed our project to the detailed specifications documented by the owner, Jeff Souza. We were impressed by the professionalism of this company, from the well-organized owner to the project quote from Bruno to the skilled craftsmen who installed the new pavers.

Masonworks recently took my small city patio from a mess of tree roots and uneven bricks to a smooth, sleek bluestone with a low fieldstone raised planting bed. They did beautiful work and were customer service-oriented throughout. The price was very fair - another company was asking almost twice as much - and everyone was a true professional focused on doing the job right. Because I'm home in quarantine, I watched them do the whole thing - they were very deliberate and careful and left the place as sparkling clean as an outdoor patio can get. In the past I had another company redo my patio and it was like night and day working with Masonworks. Great process, great outcome.

I can't praise Jeff and his team enough. They were all professional throughout; the pre-work assessment was conducted promptly; the work team was courteous and efficient and the work was very well done. They replaced the front steps to our building and relaid the stones around it -- not a large job, but one that we really wanted done right so it wouldn't be a concern for a long, long time. Initially, I was able to reach Jeff easily. He came for the evaluation within two days and completed it quickly, along with some helpful suggestions about related matters. What he gave me was a *quote*, not an "estimate", meaning that was what the price would be. Moreover, he followed up one day after that with a contract for me to evaluate. (This sounds simple, but even at that level, not all contractors do this: one said he would come but didn't after promising "next week" three times; another came and examined things but I never heard back from him.) The contract itself was fine, and accurately reflected our discussion. When the time came for the work, the team was courteous, skillful, and efficient. They were helpful when questions came up, such as when the scope of the work had to be extended somewhat (because the codes had changed since the steps were first built). We also worked out an improvement to the drainage of the area before they started, which was effective and turned out to be very important. The extra cost of the change order was quite reasonable. The overall cost was also very reasonable. Another contractor had given an estimate of 30,000 for the entire job while Jeff's quote was 15,300. With the additional work (plus permits from the city of Cambridge, which had not been expected), it came to about 20,000. I considered that perfectly reasonable. Overall, our association, and I myself, were very, very satisfied with the entire experience. I will certainly call on Jeff and Masonworks again the next time we have any work to be done. I can recommend them without qualification and would give a reference to anyone who wanted one. P.S. The work was done in August, 2018. As of December 2019, there's been no hint of any problem with it.

The team did an excellent job. They worked past dark every day and finished much faster than I expected. The work was very nicely done. (Sorry, didn't get a picture of the finished back patio before snow covered it!)
