Description of Work: Inspected my foundation, and then gave me an estimate for the repair and the name of a person who could fix it.

Description of Work: Installed a large patio with pavers in the rear of my home and re-routed my drain pipe to go under ground below the patio, as well as installed walk ways on both sides of my home. Also installed a set of front steps that include a walk way to the city sidewalk, as well as connect to one of the side walk ways. The co-owner Bruno and all his men were outstanding and they addressed all of my needs.

Description of Work: They were very responsive and communicative during the huge snowstorm. It took them a little while to get to everyone which was completely understandable given that the roads were closed and we had 2 feet of snow. They did a very good job shoveling us out and our place is in the city with sidewalks and two flights of stairs in the front and very tight parking in the back.. Bruno was very responsive and conscientious and stayed in touch with us the whole time. I would definitely recommend them highly.

Description of Work: Mason works first repaired our front portch in June of 2011. They wanted to rebuild it from scratch, but I opted for the repairs in order to save some money. It turned out very nicely - a combination of brick and bluestone - and I was very happy with it. Then came our brick-veneer chimney. It had originally been installed in 1987 and consisted of slices of bricks inserted into a plastic grid, with masonary filling in between. It had started to lose bricks a couple of years ago and I had hopde to simply replace them. Much to my chagrin, Jeff Souza informed me that it appeared that most of the bricks were ready to fall out and he recommended entirely removing the existings veneer and replacing it with a "properly built" chimney with a layer of insulation, a wire mesh frame, concrete, and indivually installed bricks. The cost was quoted at about $10,000, which I did not want to spend. i explored alternatives (cultured stone, clapboard, etc.) and got two additional quotes. In the end I decided to go with Masonworks, as their original advice proved to be sound and their prices had held up to the competition. They came back in October of 2011. The work done by Masonwors was impeccable craftsmanship. It was a lenghty (one week), labor-instensive process, but the results are outstanding. The chimney will be here long after my demise. These guys do things the old-fashioned way and they do it right.

Description of Work: I had gotten a referral from a friend regarding this company and was planning on using them to repair several stone steps in the front of my home. I called them and Bruno came the next day to give me a quote of $900 for repairs. I had just become a member of Angie's List and checked on their rating. I was very impressed with their rating and was glad for my friend's referral. While on Angie's List I noticed they offered a 5% off coupon. I contacted Bruno and told him I would like to go forward with the work and would he kindly take into consideration the coupon when preparing my contract. He told me that since I was a referral from Angie's List that he had already taken that into consideration. He told me that in fact he had given me 5% and Angie's List had also given me 5% meaning that my original cost was $1000 and he had taken a total of 10% off bringing my cost down to $900.00. First of all, I never even mentioned Angie's List before he had given me a quote plus Angie's List does not do referrals or kick in money for a referral. I contacted Angie's List customer service in order to confirm this as I am new to their site. Bruno told me he would honor the coupon and he sent me his contract. Everything was fine except for the fact there was no warranty/guarantee mentioned for the work. When I inquired as to why he would not stand behind his work, he told me ..."I do offer warranty on my work but there is no warranty on repairs." This left me confused. You either warranty your work whether it be repairs or replacement or you don't. Apparently, he did not want to warranty my repair work. I apparently did not want to spend nearly $900 for work that would not be warranteed. I told him I would not deal with a company that did not stand behind its work. Very disappointing.
