while installing new kitchen faucet, pointed out the shut off valves were in cellar, so had him install shut off valves under the sink. have had Hinchey do all my plumbing work - very professional, pointed out things that weren't up to code or needed to be fixed. they're a little more expensive than others but excellent quality

Incredibly responsive; was able to come out the day after I called and it wasn't an emergency. Quickly replaced leaky valves with ball valves. Labeled all water valves in basement so I know what they control. Quick and courteous. Would use again in a heartbeat.

I called Hinchey Brothers Plumbing because my bathroom sink was leaking. The plumber called before he acame and was on time. He diagnosed a sink leak as a faucet that needed replacing. He had an acceptable one in his truck which I had him install. He was neat and cleaned up completely after himself. He gave me an estimate for replacing another faucet, but that repair is on hold for now.

They came when I called then they told me what the problem was and fixed it right away. They are good.

The work was done in two steps. First, the plumbing was roughed in and we had the first inspection. Second, the fixtures and appliances were installed and checked out. The plumber pointed out errors made by the counter installer, which we had corrected. We are grateful that he pointed these things out because they would have reduced the service life of the counter and may have had other bad side effects. This was followed by the final inspection. The work was very well done and included some things done at their recommendation to avoid future issues like the ones that we were fixing. Their office manager, Eileen, is awesome and she was my primary contact for scheduling. It's great to have someone there who will pick up the phone and work with you to schedule the work.

We called Hinchey at 8am to report a frozen/broken pipe that had leaked through the ceiling above our front door. The receptionist was friendly, asked about the issue, said she would call back shortly. We had a plumber at our house by 9:30am. He was friendly, efficient and professional. Got the job done, cleaned up. We were very satisfied with the job and will use them again. They replaced our water heater last year and we were quite happy with the job then too.

Serviceman came on time, was very thorough, explained his repair and was very neat I was disappointed the hourly rate was not prorated after the 1st hour. Paid for 2 full hours for 1 1/2 hour job.

The plumber was polite and professional. He said the outside hose spigot could not be replaced unless the water main coming into the house from the street was replaced first. He said due to the old age of the water main, it was too fragile to work on any plumbing near it. He also did not remove the toilet. I called back a few days later to get an explanation of why he could not remove the toilet (my wife was home during his visit), and received a prompt but vague response. (Later I removed the toilet myself in about 15 minutes.). When I first called I was told the hourly rate is $120 and that there was a minimum charge of 1 hour for plumbing work. I understand if the job takes less than an hour, I have no problem paying for a full hour. However, in this case they still charged us $120 even though no work was done. Also, after 2+ weeks we have not heard back from them yet on the estimate for the other plumbing work we asked for. I appreciate their professionalism in not doing work they believe could lead to damage elsewhere in my home's plumbing. However, I am put off by the fact that they charged $120 for essentially nothing.

I've work with Ken and his crew for a number of years. He provides quality service. Some plumbers refuse to respond nights and weekends even if you agree to pay extra, but Ken has done a lot of emergency work for me without a problem. In my view that is a big selling point . I would recommend his service for homeowners north of Boston and I have recommended him a number of times without incident. Hope this review helps in your search.

Cleaned and serviced our Boiler in our new house (Clearly had not been done for several years by the prior owner). Prior to the service our steam heating system was very loud and inefficient, afterwards it performed much better. Every step in the process was explained very well. I will definitely use them for my yearly boiler tune up. Cost was expensive this time around, but primarily due to the fact the boiler had not been serviced in several years

They have done multiple works in my old and new house. Their work is pretty immaculate. I am always impressed with the quality and meticulousness of the piping. All lines are clean and are done really well. They have a high level of craftsmanship.

They arrived on time and quickly fixed the problem. I later found out they had helped my sister with an emergency and she was very satisfied as well. I definitely would recommend them to anyone needing a plumber.

Cleaning the toilet on a saturday, one of the floor bolts came up as it had rusted thru. Since there was no obvious leak, I waited and called first thing Monday morning. (Since they had done quality work for me previously at a competitive price, I decided to call just them.) Person was very nice and said she would try to get someone there asap and would get back to me in a short time. I thought they wouldn't get to me till Tuesday (again, this did not seem to be an emergency since there was no leak. We just used another toilet.) but they were actually able to get to me just after lunch that day. The service guy was great - pleasant and professional. The toilet had not been lifted for 26 years so he had quite a time getting it up and getting the wax ring off but he was able to salvage the floor ring. Of course, the shutoff valve at the toilet didn't work and I also realized there were no riser shutoff valves, so he had to shut off the entire house. But he was so efficient that he got the toilet work done quickly. Since the water was off, I had him look at the tub/shower valve which had been chattering for a while. Again difficulty in getting it apart because it had been in place for 26 years. Many parts and rings were obviously worn. But he had all the parts and was able to rebuild it. Since it was getting late, he came back a few days later to install the 2 riser valves. When we turned the water back on, he had me test each faucet because removing the water pressure and then turning it back on can sometimes dislodge gunk or debris in the pipes and sure enough another sink valve was clogged and he cleaned it up quickly. I choose N/A for the price because I didn't get quotes on this work but they had been competitive on other work.

Their price was reasonable I guess. I thought the service man did an excellent job and he explained things to me, for future needs as well. He was a little late but he apologized. He did the job and everything. I just bought a condo and so the price was expensive to me. I will definitely use him again in the future.

Our tennant's hot water heater leaked out all over the basement floor. I looked on Angies list for positively reviewed companies and Hinchey Bros was one. They are down the street in Melrose so I gave them a call. They said they would be by the next day and they were. All went smoothly and they replaced the water heater. I noticed that the water heater they put in is very inefficient. I would have rather paid more for a more efficient unit but was never given any options. Next time I know to ask.

Service provider was professional and friendly. Walked me through all the emergency shut off valves on my system and made all the repairs same day. I did not have an appointment and they did both my urgent item and the add on item same day. Also got a quote and advice on my water heater which is 10 years old and out of warranty. Will do business again

They’ve been out to my house several times for work.They are very punctual and if there’s any problem they come right over. They did a nice job. All of their work has worked out very well and I haven’t had any issues since.

Mike showed up 25 minutes after we called the emergency line. Originally, he was going to so isolate the leaking pipe under our kitchen sink so we could have running water and he would return tomorrow morning. After looking directly at the problem, he chose to complete the project tonight. He worked quickly and thoroughly. While repairing the burst pipe, he found the hot and cold water control knobs were frozen open. Those were replaced, as well. He was done in just over 1 hour. Money well spent.

Extremely well -- you wake up in the morning with no hot water (and 3 kids) and by the end of the day all is back to normal. What more would you want?

Sam from Hinchey Brothers showed up and was very polite and professional. He checked the sink and knew exactly what the issue was and fixed it by turning a few nobs. As a husband who called a plumber because his wife told him to and didn't even take a second to look under the sink to turn a nob I felt like a bit of an idiot but Sam made me feel like less of an idiot by explaining why it happened. He then replaced the thing inside the toilet so ti wouldn't run any more. Afterwards he gave me some advice and educated me on a few things which i really appreciated. I would definitely use and recommend Hinchey again.
