We had an LG ArtCool Split Air Conditioning System installed in 2006. It's had to be repaired 3 times. Each time the technicians said they would have to replace parts. These seemed like basic parts but nevertheless they had to be ordered from the manufacturer each time. The wait for the parts usually took 3 to 4 weeks. This summer the condenser on the bedroom side of the house broke down twice. The second time it broke down, it took 6 weeks for the part to come in. The first time it broke down it took 4 weeks to replace the broken part. Only in September when the technician returned to replace the part on the condenser that kept being destroyed by mice did we learn that the broken condenser on the living room side of the house only needed a mechanical repair, not a new part. The technician didn't bother to fix that one until the part for the other condenser came in. So we could have had air conditioning on one side of our house for six weeks this summer. Over that 6-week period we had to repeatedly call the company to find out what was going on.
Description of Work: The technician replaced the internal filtering material that covers the circuit board. That's what the mice were using for their nest.

There were scheduling problems with Systems Pavers, most of which was S.P.'s fault. Plumber & workers did OK job, but office staff failed on setting up final installation. 1. Didn't get a permit & inspection with City and had to pay fine. I found this out when a tankless gas water system was installed by another plumber, and he pointed out the proper smoke/CO detectors hadn't been set up. 2. I booked the final installation day a month in advance, and was told it was soonest available. I told office I was taking vacation that day to co-ordinate with landscapers and be home for final installation (lucky I took an extra day!). When no one showed, office said they hadn't booked it! Someone came the next day to do critical work. Finally job got completed OK. 3. They were courteous, helpful and responsive to problems like failed electronics.
Description of Work: Install snow melt system for driveway & walk (under pavers) using Vitodens gas furnace. This is a complicated job that has to be done in phases. I was unable to get another bid on job, so do not know if price was fair.

Personally, I like Michael, but there was a little difficulty with the office staff getting the schedule right. I booked a month and a half early, took a vacation day, and paid the deposits but the day came and no one showed up. I called the office only to find out that I was not on the schedule and they did not show up on the critical day to do the underground installation. It makes it hard to coordinate with the other contractors to have work done when they do not show up. There was not on day that they showed up on the days that they said they would during the critical installation. They failed to get a plumbing inspection for the gas furnace.
Description of Work: A 2800 vitodens heat system (snowmelt system).

They were very professional, and were always responsive to questions. The project took about 5 days total (probably a little more than they originally expected). There were generally 2 guys on site doing the work, and they were very good about explaining what they were doing, asking questions when there were choices to be made about where the boiler should be located, and cleaned up after themselves. We had a slight problem later on when on very cold days, the boiler wasn't heating up the rooms properly; it ended up being a configuration that needed to be made on the boiler, and they came and took care of it quickly. Overall highly recommended.
Description of Work: Replaced a ~40 year old oil-fired boiler with a new condensing Viessmann gas-fired boiler. They installed the new unit, removed the old unit and oil tank, and then cut the system over, so that there was very little time that we were without heat.

Mike, John and their crew were on time, extremely professional and polite and very responsive to inquiries. They worked quickly and obviously were extremely knowledgeable about what they were doing. They were neat and cleaned up after themselves each day (it took about 4 days all together). After the first weekend with the new system, one of the zones wasn't heating up and they showed up within a few hours to correct the problem. So far so good, it seems you get what you pay for.
Description of Work: Heatech installed a new Viessmann boiler and hot water heater. We interviewed about five different companies for the job (there were a variety of problems going on, including what we suspected was an undersized boiler). Many contractors seemed overwhelmed and confused by the size of the old house and number of zones. We received many convoluted suggestions from other heating contractors. Mike Fitzemeyer suggested that we start simply by replacing the boiler, before getting involved in anything more complex. It was the most direct solution offered to us.
