Jim Davies was referred to us for a kitchen renovation. Initially, Jim did not win our business and unfortunately, the contractor we hired walked off the job after realizing he was over his head. We were left with half the job done and in a terrible situation. Because he was our second choice, I asked our referral reached out to Jim once again to have him come to our home to look at what needed to be done to finish our kitchen. He came in looked around without having a measuring tape or a leveler with him. This is a sure sign to me that he had no intention of ever taking the job. We talked for about 10 minutes and then he said he wouldn't take the job. When I asked him why, he responded that fixing someone mistakes is not something he wanted to get involved with. Then said, quite frankly he wrote us out an estimate and we never said "thank you" or got back to him about the job. In my opinion, If Jim is giving estimates he should be the one following-up not the client. Jim may be a good contractor, his pricing was even fair, however, his character severely flawed to say the least. The reason we didn't hire Jim in the first place wasn't personal it was business. I feel that him agreeing to come back to my house was personal on his part to throw in our face that we didn't hire him and look at the situation we are in now. The unfortunate part about all this for Jim is his business is based on word of mouth and reviews like this. I will also be contacting the people that referred Jim to us and letting them know as well.
