The entire experience went well. The only downside was that it cost a lot more than I had imagined a carpet runner would cost, but I didn't do much comparison shopping to see if it meets industry standards.

They were very personable and patient. They were very efficient in installation.

It went great. I went down to Carpet Trades and picked out a couple of samples to bring home. Dave came the same day to take measurements. I don't have a straightforward layout in my kitchen, and a hallway to the cellar needed to be done as well. Dave made sure to estimate making the best use of the vinyl keeping the square footage ordered to a minimum. I went back a few days later to order the floor on a Monday. I received a call the next day, to say the floor had come in on another shipment. They had a cancellation on Wednesday and asked if they come to do the floor then. I agreed. Dave and his assistant came around 8:30. The refrigerator proved to be a challenge but they figured out how to get it out of the space. Since I was here working all day I could hear the conversation between the two men. Unlike other contractors I have had here, the conversation never got out of line and stayed professional. They kept me informed throughout the day with any issues. I had originally called a big box store and the contractor they sent made some recommendations which made no sense to me. The big box wanted to put another subfloor over the current one raising the floor almost two inches above the surrounding wood floors and then put a quarter round trim all around the vinyl where there was currently none. I suppose that was to cover where the contractor might not cut a straight line. Carpet Trades proved I was right in my assumptions and made the job seem so simple in contrast. The pricing was similar, and the work was excellent. They pulled up the old floor, patched and smoothed over the previous subfloor and did a great job cutting around the trim and cabinets.

Overall experience was good. Job was performed well, there was some initial confusion on payment but it was settled.

SALES PEOPLE VERY PATIENT. INSTALLATION SCHEDULING WAS TRICKY. FLOORING MAY NOT HAVE BEEN GOOD FOR OUR USAGE WET FLOOR + LAMINATE TILE = CURLING.
