Another year has passed and Cheryl still has our $8000 deposit that she won't give back. We are now going to be taking them to court over our money. Do not use this company they are robbers. They have stole lots of peoples money just read their reviews. Search everywhere online and you will see that they consistently have taken peoples deposits and not returned the money. They also just shut off commication. The most incompetent group of people i have ever worked with.

50% deposit was paid and job not performed. After waiting for several months for the awnings to be installed,and being told many times it was going to be done the following week, we were told that they could not do the job. We have been waiting for the past 2 months to have our 50% deposit refunded. Same story; the check will be send next week! We are still waiting. I wished i had seen some reviews on yelp before hiring this company. Apparently , we are not their first victim. This has been the way they conduct business for quite a while. Cheryl Yennaco is the owner. Be aware and stay away from that company if you do not want to loose your money and waist your time. I am filing a small claim against that company.

The product itself is great quality anf the installation was done well. We had trouble with the timing and responsiveness. They took an extremely long time from order to making and installing the awning it was frustrating to wait so long.

I contacted them prior to looking them up in Angie's List. As the date for installation approached, I started receiving vague estimates about completion date and generic reasons for possible delays. So then I looked them up and saw all the extremely negative reviews and got very nervous, fearing I had made a mistake. However, I can happily report that the job was satisfactorily completed in 7 weeks -- only a minor delay based on the 4-6 week estimate. I had no difficulty in reaching the company to talk about it. The installation crew led by Sean was prompt and very professional, and the quality seems fine. So my overall experience was quite positive. They seem quite busy, and it could be a "squeaky wheel getting the grease" situation, but I would have no reservations about using them again.

After scheduling a job 2 months in advance in order to coordinate the work with another contractor Atlantic Awning never showed up on the job. They were scheduled to show up at 7:00am Monday morning. At 4:00 pm the Friday afternoon prior I decided to call and confirm only to be told they would not be available. I asked "when were you going to call me?" No response. I request a call from the owner(s) no response from anyone.

On April 11 2014 I contacted New England Canvas Manufacturers LLC/Atlantic Awning about having 2 awnings replaced at my property. On April 15th I met with Mark Horton a representative of Atlantic Awning Mr. Horton who gave me an estimate of $790 plus $31.60 tax for a total of $821.60 to replace the two awning which are located on the 3rd floor, Mr. Horton informed me that it would be 6 weeks before they would be ready and that they would be using the existing hardware. After conferring with family members I decided to contact Atlantic Awning and have them proceed with replacing the awnings with half down and half upon completion. On April 17th an electronic withdrawal was made from a household account at Everett Credit Union in the amount of $410.80. starting in June I called Atlantic Awning on July 16th (just over 9 weeks) and asked them ?when? were they coming to take down the old awnings, I was told by the company?s owner Cheryl Yennaco that no order had been taken to replace my awnings, when I informed them that an electronic payment had been made to them on the 17th of April Miss Yennaco informed me that the order had the wrong name on it and it was under my first name ?James? she apologized and told me they would be out the following week and I specifically told her that they were to call me when they were on their way, I did not see them the following week and I was given the excuse that they brought the wrong ladder and that they didn?t know I wanted them to call. I called them on July 22nd no phone call returned I called them again 3 times more on July 23 and no return calls, 3 times more on July 24. I called again on Monday July 28th and left a message that they either send someone out by the end of the week or I want my deposit back, again no call from Miss Yennaco, I sent the following e-mail on July 31st Miss Yennaco I spoke with you Monday about either sending someone out here to remove the awnings that I already put half the deposit down,16 weeks ago or I would like my deposit back. I was told on the day your man came here to give me an estimate that it would be a 6 week wait time. I have still heard nothing, no response what so ever, no phone call with an apology and refund of my deposit, no e-mail, no one showing up to take down the old awnings, nothing. I will contact my lawyer tomorrow seeing how I gave you to the end of this week to respond. I received the following e-mail reply on August 5th, 5 days later Hi, Thanks, as you will note on your paperwork there are no cancellations. Thanks, Cheryl Yennaco it was only after I threatened legal action and that I would be contacting the Better Business Bureau that they came out to remove my old awnings. I sent the following e-mail on august 5th To Cheryl Yennaco Aug 5 Miss Yennaco I am finishing up a letter of complaint that I will be sending to the Better Business Bureau within the hour that details from the first time I contacted Atlantic Awning on April 11 through last Friday when I expected my deposit to be returned and how I have heard nothing from you until this recent e-mail, a time period of 17 weeks on something that I was promised would take 6 weeks when I spoke to Mr Horton on April 15 when he came to estimate the awnings. 11 weeks after the time promised, at this point I don't know if I want someone from Atlantic Awning doing anything on my property considering the way I have been treated from not even having the correct name on the work order to not contacting me when I clearly asked that your workers call me when they were on their way to take down the Awning 2 weeks ago. the lack of professionalism that I have experienced with Atlantic Awning leaves me wary of any product from your company , I have worked for professional contracting companys in renovating apartment's in the Back Bay section of Boston as well as Brookline and Salem NH and I can tell you that if the people who contracted that service had been treated the way Atlantic Awning has treated me, we would have been thrown off the job sight and asked not to return. I have already removed one awning on the back of the house which took me less than 5 minuets without a ladder. if your people are not here first thing in the morning than I would ask you once again to return my deposit or I will move forward with legal options in recovering it as well as any legal fees and court cost's. I expect to have a reply from you within the hour. JM Again I have heard nothing from either Miss Yennaco or Atlantic Awning and it is for this reason I am writing a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. I sent her a copy of the complaint that I sent to the Better Business Bureau and this was her reply Cheryl Yennaco Thanks for this and your yelp review! To Me Thanks for this and your yelp review! bottom line is, this is what you'll be dealing with if you chose Atlantic Awning I'm going to the courthouse tomorrow to file a small claims lawsuit

The worst company i ever dealt with . Ordered Awning May 12 informed of three to four week delivery. Received awning Aug 1st . Company owners do not return calls or emails. Awning was a roof mount installation and installer was lifting Shingles to find roof rafters for mounting brackets. I informed them that the roof had a underlayment and he probably would not find the rafters by lifting the shingles. I also said that the roof was sealed tight for high wind which is typical for homes near the ocean.. I recommended he remove the fascia board to find the ends of the rafters. He called owner of Atlantic Awning Cheryl Yennaco to get permission She spoke with me and the install Do not hire this company . The management is the worst I have ever dealt with ! They do not respond to calls or email. in timely manor or not at all.. Did not deliver in a timely manner . Demanded full payment before work completed. Said installation was not what they expected and demanded more money than the contract stated.

Awful. I hired this company based on both an excellent Angies Review from 3/2013 and my experience with the sales representative when he came out to price out the job. Shortly after hiring this company, however, it was sold to new owners. These new owners did not contact me about taking over. In fact, I heard nothing from them weeks and weeks after the new awning was to have been installed. I called approximately 4x each week. I always got a very nice receptionist who could only take a message to relay to the boss who was "out" and would supposedly call me back. He never did. The awning was ordered in April. It was to be installed in May. Instead we went the entire summer without an awning. When I finally threatened to come to their offices and camp out at the front door, I did get a call. I asked for my deposit to be returned or for my awning to be installed asap. In Sept or Oct, the awning was installed - but I was asked to pay cash at installation and told I would be getting my warrenties,etc in the mail. And I was informed by the installers about the change in management and how lots of orders had been "lost". OK, at least we had the awning. But, wait. The very next day after the awning was installed, it rained and THE AWNIING LEAKED IN TWO PLACES. When I called to ask them to come and see what they could do, I was told, "Awnings leak. There is nothing they can do to fix it." We have had awnings covering this particular porch for over 20 years. No other awning ever leaked. When I called to complain, the wife of the owner hung the phone up on me saying I was clearly upset and she couldn't deal with me given how upset I was. She never called back. The awning was expensive. It was also an almost complete waste of money. Run, do not walk, away from this company. They haven't a clue....

I wanted my awning for the summer months and missed the season completely. They did give me a 10% discount in the end but they need to improve their customer service.
Description of Work: This business had changed hands from the time I placed my order to when I actually received the product. I attribute some of the confusion to the business transition but they could have done a better job of keeping customers informed throughout the process. This is my primary complaint with the company. I could not get a straight answer. Although I placed the order in May, and made a 50% deposit, it was not actually processed until July. My delivery was due in mid-June and did not arrive until late August

Description of Work: I used Atlantic Awning probably in March. They repaired an awning that I have had it is probably eight or nine years old and it was starting to fall apart so they repaired the whole awning. They made the original awning for me about ten years ago.

Description of Work: I hired them in June for an awning for $5,000 installed. All went well until a point in time when the waning was torn due to a defective installation. I contacted the company again in 2012 to get repaired under the 5 year warranty agreement but was ignored until my attorney sent a letter to sue on 10/29/12. Then I was contacted by the company and told had I called them (which I did overal several weeks) they would have responded. I was told that they would honor the contract and sent me an invoice#12-3672 in November 2012 that they would replace the damaged awning..since it was the fall, I did not expect the new awning to be delivered till the spring.. Well, lo and behold, I hear nothing frrom them until I call in April to ask what the status is of the delivery of new awning...hem and haw...I call each time and am told someone will get back to me but nobody ever does....the owner's wife is apparently the othe chief person in charge..good luck with that!! Finally, two weeks ago...end of April I am told that the awning will be delivered the week of May 5th and I will be called, in advance to schedule... Great..I'm ok with that though the original invoice is as of November so you would expect I would have been earlier on their list...OK..week of 5/5/ comes along and nothing...nada...no email, not phone call, nothhing..so I call on 5/10 to ask what the status is of my replacement delivery which clearly will not occur this week..I am then told that, Cheryl is out but will be back at about 1 p.m and will get back to me as to delivery date next week. It's 8 p.m and not heard a thing...typical of this company's cutomer service...I then call and leave a message that I will pursue legal action at this point.. I suspect they never ordered the replacement and that they are totally unreliable. Don't do business with this company..They don't honore their contracts!!! I'm now going to pursue Better Business Burea as well as legal.

Atlantic awning has installed several residential awnings for me over the past 17 years. They always have a good selection of products and know the market very well. Cheryl Yennaco in particular takes the necessary time to work with existing and potential customers to ensure they receive the best product for their money as well as the best fit for their home. I have never had a problem with the quality of their awnings as they have always stood up exceptionally well under the most extreme weather conditions here in the Northeast. Cheryl has always treated me exceptionally well as a customer and would always be responsive to any questions or concerns I may have had over the years. It's always a pleasure doing business with the Atlantic Awning team.
