Description of Work: Hand made Mexican tiles different colors patterns and sizes put as a back splash on the kitchen wall.

Description of Work: I used Sergio's Renovations. I last used their services in August of 2010. They did some renovation and remodeling for me.

Description of Work: Removed built in cabinet and repaired wall. Built custom TV cabinet with cabinets and shelves. Removed mantle. Built and installed new custom mantle. Skim coated walls in large living room. Replaced ceilings in large living room and kitchen. Repaired/made old walls smooth. Repainted living room and trim and living room and kitchen ceilings.

Description of Work: My husband and I recently purchased a 1920 condo in Beacon Hill and we did a gut renovation of our kitchen and we installed a wet bar in our guest room. It was a very challenging renovation and everything was handled with complete professionalism and exquisite quality with Sergio and his excellent team starting with the demo team and including his master carpenter, tilers, painters. The quality of his work is superb and Sergio is completely responsive to any questions or concerns you have have throughout the renovation. He always seemed to be able to come over within twenty minutes when we needed him in person and addressed any issue going above and beyond to make sure it was completely resolved. He outsources his plumbing and electrical and those contractors excellent as well and everyone was such a pleasure to work with. He recommended our excellent cabinet designer, Tony from Prestige Kitchen, who also did an outstanding job. In addition, I was pregnant during the entire renovation and he very careful about getting the kitchen renovation before our baby came and checked in with me several times about our due date to ensure the renovation schedule would be completed. We highly recommend Sergio for any kitchen and bath renovation and we very much look forward to having him again in the future when we renovate our bathrooms. Description of Work: We contacted Sergio due to all the wonderful reviews on this website for a big project but to protect ourselves we decided to do something relatively small to see what we thought of him before we entrusted him to do the more important, detailed, major work. We had Sergio come in to give us a price for a large built in demolition. He was responsive at this time and came immediately to review the project. He gave us a very high price of o$1400 to do this work. We gave him a deposit of 1/2 to get him to come back and it was very difficult to get him back. No return calls (on multiple occasions) and even emails thru Angie's list. He finally gets back to us and it took his non-english speaking crew of 2 men about 3 hours to do this work. He agreed to only charge us for our deposit since it was obviously very minor work. The job was done but this was so easy and even by cutting the price in half, it was a still a major rip off.

Description of Work: We used Sergio's Renovations for kitchen and bathroom renovation. They renovated two bathrooms. They insulated new walls, new ceilings, and installed new fixtures in the bathroom. In the kitchen they did painting, coated the ceiling, and put down tiles for the floors. They also installed new backsplash and new countertops.

Description of Work: Previously, Sergio did a fine job remodeling our home. He took a 1910 home and turned it into a modern and extremely energy efficient home which we are now selling. Recently, we had a problem with our roof which we tried to delay replacing. Unfortunately, it began to leak and left some water damage inside the home. Sergio came to our home, saw the damage that was to be fixed and sent an employee to repair it within a week. They did a fantastic job repairing damage, drywall and painting. In fact, there is no way you can tell there had been any water damage!

Description of Work: I joined Angie's List for the obvious reason of finding a qualified contractor with good references. Not only did I call and leave a message that I was interested in a proposal for a complete bathroom remodeling, I followed up with an email request. Nearly 1 week later I have yet to get a return phone call or email. If you're too busy with bigger jobs, just call and say so. If you're not interested in doing just a small bathroom overhaul, then say so.

Description of Work: We called Sergio to come out and give us a quote for a lot of renovation we wanted to do at our house.

Description of Work: We hired Sergio in August of 2010 to remodel a kitchen and 2 and a half bathrooms in our home. The job also included taking down a wall to open the kitchen up to our living area, opening up a door, laying down a small brick patio, and building a closet in a guest bedroom.

Description of Work: Several years ago I had a renovation project in mind and found Sergio's Renovations, with recommendations, on Angies’ List. This was a period where everyone was doing renovation, before the recession. I left a message at the time and did not hear back. However, I squirreled away the name and called again this fall. Sergio’s response was immediate. We set up an appointment. I explained what I wanted done and when. He explained the cost, and what to expect, including the fact that there might be hicks along the way but everything would be worked out to my satisfaction by the time the project was done, six to eight weeks from start date. I have organized some renovation in my mother’s old house on Cape Cod. I had acted as contractor for these projects, so was glad to have someone like Sergio be in charge of renovating my bathroom in Cambridge. We made an appointment for January 6. Sergio himself came to my door at 7:30, January 6. With him were two Brazilian workers, whom he introduced. This was the beginning of one of the most pleasant renovation projects I have ever experienced. Here is what I really liked: 1.) I was able to contact Sergio by telephone whenever I had a question. He was personable and extremely accommodating. 2.) His workers came as scheduled and performed their duties well. 3.) Everyone cleaned up after themselves, as Sergio had said they would. 4.) The project would have been finished right on schedule if it had not been for ordering the wrong color for a chair rail tile. 5.) My request for copper piles, rather than PVC, was respected. 6.) Anderson, the plumber, deserves a special note of praise because he listened carefully to my requests and fulfilled them, including lowering the showerhead and using chrome for the water piping behind the vanity, which showed. 7.) Sergio was amenable to having his painters redo more than we had originally planned, since the hall looked drab compared to the new wall. The painters were very skillful with their brushes and rollers. 8.) But, the most praise I have reserved for Gladeston, master tiler. Gladeston does not speak perfect English, but who cares? His tiling is among the best I have ever witnessed. I had a rather complicated design, which strayed from the modern bathrooms Sergio usually installs. I knew what I wanted for my Victorian house. Gladeston and I discussed the plan. Then he executed it. Perfectly, taking the time necessary to figure it out. I could not have been more pleased with the result. And, I could see how much pleasure Gladeston took in creating this marvelous design. The only issue we ran into was that chair rail, which was ordered in almond when we needed it in black. I explained what had happened to Sergio and he intervened with the tile retailer so that I was not charged double for the chair rails, which were non-refundable. Gladeston also suggested black marble to accent the back of the tub, two long pieces. They were the finishing touch that made the bathroom truly shine.
