Sergio's Renovations

Because it was the only bathroom we have, they re-installed the old toilet every night until the bathroom was ready for the new one. They protected other floors, walls, and other items. They carefully vacuumed every night before they left. Sergio answered my questions as they came up and followed up on problems and loose ends. Sergio called to check in with me and to inform me about the tasks they were planning next. In preliminary discussions about the project, Sergio took a lot of time up-front listening and really trying to understand what I had in mind. He also took a lot of time explaining some design ideas that I might consider. I liked many of his ideas and used them. The up-front planning time was a good investment. Along the way, they also made suggestions. For example, before the tiler started work, he suggested a more elegant tile pattern than we had planned. After he described it, we decided on it, and it made the bathroom look even better.

Sergio came to my house to discuss the project. He was punctual and very polite and said he was interested in the project and would get back to me with an estimate in 2 days. He did not get back to me at all. Very unprofessional and disappointing.

Sergio for president! We choose Sergio because of the high ratings he had received on Angie's List and boy did he deliver. He breaks the stereotype of the vanishing contractor. Sergio always returned our calls; if necessary he would arrange to come early in the morning or after work to talk with us about the project. If there was going to be a delay, he would call to let us know. His attention to detail is terrific and he makes certain his workers follow-through. He is smart, creative, and knows the business and how to take care of his clients.

Sergio is a delight. His standards are high and he is obsessive about pleasing his clients. His suggestions contributed enormously to a superior end result. Our extensive renovation went as smoothly as could reasonably be expected. There are always surprises, delays, and work that needs to be redone in large projects, but these were minimal and Sergio cheerfully did his best to satisfy us. His painters are outstanding and were faced with a complicated job with multiple color schemes. Patience is required and worth it. Sergio is much in demand and can be difficult to reach, but he does respond. His style of business is very different from typical. Our relationship from the beginning was based on mutual trust, and we were not in the least disappointed. We were picky and he did his best to please. Our friends have been extremely impressed by the results. We wrote a letter of praise to be read to his workers, and gave them bags of chocolates to express our appreciation.

Sergio is so personable I was not sure at first I could trust him! Turns out his pleasantness is genuine and he means what he says. He contracted out the job to a Vietnamese floor specialist. This man was pleasant but not easy to communicate with, and Sergio was unable to come himself again when I was home, so we had to talk the job through over the phone. Sergio assured me that he was visiting the job regularly, and indeed he saw that any concerns I raised were addressed. The job came in $400 under the original estimate, in part because the wood I selected was less money than most, and in part because they worked incredibly fast. I got the original estimate on Nov. 3. The job took two full days and was completed Nov. 28, with minor adjustments on the 29th. The laborers were pretty messy, but Sergio himself came and had the rooms virtually spotless when I got home at night. I had only one source of unease: Sergio didn't ever get me a written proposal. I went on faith (& Angie's List).

They arrived as committed; work was delayed (which was good for an exterior paint job) because of rain. As soon as rain stopped and after a day to let the shingles dry, they arrived and completed the work in one day. The work and work site were meticulous. When it looked like an area had been missed because of roughness of the shingles, they came back the following day and repainted all such areas. It is clear that the shingles are the problem. Since they finished faster than expected, they painted the back of my house. This was not an area that was included in the job but did need painting. I had intended to do this myself next year and they save me the effort.

He couldn't start the job early enough for our needs and instead suggested a couple of other contractors who he thought might have more time. We ended up choosing one of his suggestions!

Very well. As with any project of this size there are always things that need refining - but Sergio went the extra mile to ensure that we were happy with the job and was very good about returning any of our phone calls.

Couldn't be happier. Sergio was very flexible and responsive as we decided to change plans or add to them. The quality of the work is fantastic. It's so nice to only have to say what you wish to be done 1 time...and it gets done exactly as you want! His team is very talented. We would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone...we can't say enough good things about them.

Sergio was very prompt and courteous. His estimate was LABOR ONLY and did not include supplies. He gave a rough estimate of $600 or so on the supplies, but having that as a variable made us nervous. We had no way of knowing if he would discover that he needed tons and tons of supplies. It may never have been a problem, but we just didn't like the uncertainty.

They are great! They are very informative and are on point with all of their estimates. They are more experienced then other companies that we have worked with and they seem like they are great trust worthy people.

Promptness is the one thing that stood out the most with Sergios Renovations Inc. Everyone on the crew worked good together. They truly seemed to be on the same page and proved to be that way in the work preformed. I would recommend them.

Sergio and his crew were extremely professional, clean, prompt, and skilled. They did an amazing job and they responded to our every request. Sergio was prompt in responding to our questions and was a great help in coming up with ideas on how to design the bathrooms. He provided us with suggestions for plumbers, electricians, and places for materials. His prices were very reasonable and he was very up front with potential costs. We stayed within our projected budget, even after we added new items to the job. This was our first renovation and we had heard many horror stories about home ownership and the renovation process, but I must say, working with Sergio s renovations was actually enjoyable. We chose Sergio s renovations from Angie s list due to his excellent recommendations and letter grade and I must say there is a reason he gets straight A s, because he is just awesome.

The workmanship-carpentry/painting-was exceptional. The carpenter, his helper, and the painter were unbelievably hard-working and paid great attention to detail. The work appears to be expert and flawless. My only criticism was that Sergio gave me an estimate of $7-9,000 (for work and materials) to start with and repeatedly assured me that if he went over that range he would tell me as the work was progressing. Several times, as more rotten wood was uncovered he told that he was still in that range-though admittedly at the upper end. When the work was entirely finished, Sergio came to present the final bill and told me that it was $11,000 because the materials cost more than anticipated. He gave me no warning as the work was progressing-and in fact assured me that we were still within budget. Once the work was completed-and completed beautifully-I did not feel that I could argue with the increased cost, though because of this I will think twice about hiring him again.

As first time home owners we were stunned at how unprofessional many of the contractors we contacted to quote for the work were. Fortunately Sergio was professional, reasonably cheap, and prompt. We spent a month getting more and more frustrated as the contractors we had quote for the work either failed to turn up, forgot to measure, quoted for the wrong work, and/or reneged on a start date. It was especially bad as our 14 month old was trying to walk and we couldn't let her down which she found very frustrating and let us know at full volume! Then a friend found Sergio on Angie's list and we rang him. He was there the next day and told my wife "What do you want and when do you want it". Within 2 days we had a quote, a price, and a commitment to start in 3 days! When they did start they started early, finished late, and got the job done 2 days ahead of schedule, and the work was of excellent quality. We'll always hire Sergio and his team for anything like this in the future.

He was very nice and polite. He was very responsive and came out right away when we called him. He was clean and neat as well. He also cleaned up after himself. He did a great job and the new doors look great.

Although I didn't post the price here I can say it was reasonable. The quality of the work they did for us was really good, but sometimes I felt it was a little hard to communicate and some of my words were lost in translation. That being said, I wouldn t mind using them again and I could recommend them to others.

Sergio was great but the workers they sent out did not speak much English.

I contacted Sergio at least 4 times before we actually spoke (which in hind sight should have sent up a red flag) and then set a date for him to come out 2 weeks later for a quote for a new set of stairs to the side entrance and a cellar door and 7 basement windows. He came out as scheduled and left stating he would get back to me by sending me a written quote as requested. After waiting a week for the quote, I called and he didn't remember me and then said oh I forgot to get pricing, Let me call and get the prices and I will send out the quote I promise in the next day or two. After two more weeks of waiting and not receiving the quote, I assume he does not want the business. Too bad since I read all the great reviews, but it is not worth following up and begging for his help.....I would not recommend him

Great experience! On time, knowledgeable, very helpful, and friendly. When we first contacted Sergio he was on the other line, but promised to call us back, and he did. Setup an initial appointment to see the 1/2 bath later that week. We got a price quote and setup an appointment to have the work done the following week. Sergio explained one of his workers would be able to handle the job alone and would be able to complete it within on day. On the day of our appointment, Sergio returned with the worker and went over everything that needed to be done. Several hours later our bathroom was complete!

This is the third time Sergio has done a project for us, and the result is just as superb as prior projects. Sergio made very helpful suggestions when planning. His carpenter is fantastic, he included lovely finishing touches on drawers etc. His crew was immaculate; they taped paper to the floor and hung plastic over all furniture and cleaned up every day. Sergio is extremely reasonable to deal with and makes sure that you get the result you want, and much more! His price is very competitive; the $5,800 included labor and materials. They took care of obtaining all materials. I can't say enough positive things, the work is fantastic. We wouldn't use anyone other than Sergio for our home improvements.

They were reliable, slightly under estimate, quick and hard working.

Sergio was excellent. He came by to give an estimate on labor and materials. He gave me a written estimate. It took me a few weeks to call him back to hire him but he remember me and the work we had discussed. He was able to come to my house the week I needed the work done. He and his employees did an excellent job with a good price.

Sergio's team was great! They originally quoted a time of 1 week to complete the job, but were done within 3 days! They also worked over the weekend, which helped speed up the process. They were very responsive and friendly, and cleaned up every day. The work itself was fabulous! The painting was very good and the closets are beautiful. Everyone who sees it is very impressed and can't even imagine that it was never there! It has tripled my closet space, but also looks as if it was there originally. Sergio's team built 2 new door frames, with crown molding that matches the rest of the room. All in all, I can't imagine the room without it!

Very, very poorly. Sergio showed up the next day as promised and reviewed the job and said he would get back to me at the end of the week with his quote. Gave me names of flooring installer and electrician. Floorer gave me a quote within two days after reviewing the job. The electrician never returned calls or delivered the promised quote by email despite numerous attempt to reach him. Sergio was called several times and he said he would call him to get an explanation. Sergio was never heard from since either. This is a company who received awards? Are you kidding? Whose putting the referrals on your site; the Companies? What a joke!!!!!!
