Sergio's Renovations

This was a bit confusing to me. I contacted the company, via email, to determine whether or not they could perform a bathtub installation. I know that they do this kind of work, but based on other reports, it looked like they only worked on larger-scale jobs. I made it clear, in the email I wrote, that I got their name off of Angie's List and asked if they would be able to complete a job such as this. I didn't provide a specific time of when I needed the work completed; I was simply inquiring if they could, at some point, do this type of work. The reply I received from Sergio was this: "Unfortunatelly we won't be able to help you at this time. Our company is currently overbooked. Sorry for any inconvenience." I think it's rather strange that a company would tell a potential customer that they're currently overbooked when the customer does not even mention a time table. If they didn't want the job he could have said the job was too small for their company, or if they're truly overbooked at this time, it would be better to communicate a time when they might be able to perform such work. This left me scratching my head. Though his email response was pleasant and prompt, I still can't quite figure out if this is something he'd be willing to do. Hmmm.

Job took longer, as some tiles arrived broken, so instead of five days it stretched to ten. Not Sergios fault. His crew was courteous, prompt and concerned that I be thoroughly satisfied. Overall, was impressed with the company. Always able to reach someone by calling the cell number provided. Also felt safe leaving them in my place as the crew trustworthy and hard working. They were: get in, get it done and get out. Working conditions were tough, as small bathroom on top floor of condo in late July heat w/ no A/C. But, that didn't slow them down a bit.

I first called Sergio for an estimate before I bought my house to see whether we would be able to do the necessary repairs. He came in very low, and I didn't really believe it. When we did buy the house, he brought his crew in and performed the work extremely quickly and well. They painted the entire interior of the house in 8 days, contracted to have the floors finished, did closet organizers and reinforced the attic. All of the guys were extremely polite and professional and they did a great job cleaning up. They followed up to do necessary touch ups and they were very flexible when we decided to paint a little extra trim. Overall, it was a fabulous experience. I'll be calling Sergio when I can afford to redo the bathrooms.

They were very good. The job is beautiful. They were good to come back to finish things that they had planned on doing. Their labor and prices were much lower than competitors'. They also came when they said they would come. They stayed late each day to get each of the floors done in the one day.

So far they have gutted out the kitchen and the bathroom. Thus far, I have no complaints; they have done a fantastic job. I have told numerous friends about them.

Sergio is a dream to work with-nicest guy ever, who feels bad charging people. Pretty sure he lost money on my job, as his bid for painting was $8K lower than the next lowest bid, but he still did magnificent work for me. No one else was willing to restore the capitals on the pillars on my front porch. His work greatly increased my home value! Sergio never says no, he just finds a way and he has some exceptionally skilled craftsmen working for him.

Went very well. Sergio and his team are complete professionals as well as perfectionists. They paid great attention to even the smallest detail, worked with me for ideas/alternatives, took the time to explain process and next steps and were wonderful to work with us. Sergio is very honest and hard working. In fact, before I met him, I was going to have a different contractor to a porch addition. After my experience with Sergio, I canceled the other job and gave it to Sergio. Great to work with, highly recommend.

He did an excellent job. He was efficient and completed the job in a timely manner. We were very pleased. The prices were reasonable.

They were excellent and top-rate in everything they provided. They treated us well and worked well and the price was very reasonable for the services provided.

He was really good. Very reliable and easy to work with. He comes out gives estimates and has contractors that work under him. They are also very competent. I would recommend Sergio's to others

My new kitchen looks like a kitchen in one of the design magazine. Sergio went above and beyond the call of duty to make my home look fantastic. He is the best. He even put up with my temper. The cabinet company he found made custom cabinets for me that were fantastic. The workmanship is perfection. The gentleman, or should I say artist, who put in my back splash and floor did a magnificent job. My back splash looks like it was chiseled out of the material. The granite was also done by a master cutter. The electricians did a great job. They listened to what I wanted and did so. Sergio's carpenters, painters and the plumber were also masters of their profession. If they did something wrong they would point it out to me and then correct it. They came when they said they would come. Everyone that worked on my kitchen treated me and my home with respect and honesty. I felt very comfortable to leave my home and know my home was safe in their hands. It was a great feeling. If anybody would like to see the work done on my kitchen please contact Sergio and I would be more than happy to show off the work. His original estimate is exactly what I paid. I got more than my moneys worth. I found them through Angie's List and selected them because of their Angie's List reviews. I liked his ideas and his honesty. If I hadn't listened to his ideas, I wouldn't have the kitchen I have. If I had any advice to give other members I'd say Hire Him! If I had any words of advice for Sergio it would be to encourage his workers to speak English. It helps communication because this is an English speaking country and it will also help them advance in this country.

They showed up on time when they said they would. They were a little expensive, but I think that they charged what they demanded. I would use them again for future work.

We are thrilled with the end result of our project and we're also very happy with what we paid. Our project, like most, had schedule delays and some issues, but Sergio worked very hard to make things right. He is very empathetic and we were impressed by how important it was to him that we were not only satisfied, but truly happy. He has a good eye for quality and detail and he insisted upon fixing minor details that we did not expect him to. Here are some examples: 1. Upon completion of the tile around the bathtub we noticed that shower fixtures (the shower head, the knob and the drain valve) did not align. He insisted on fixing this and was able to do so without impacting the schedule. 2. After installing the kitchen sink and dishwasher, we noticed, after a day or two of use that water was leaking into the basement from the kitchen drain line. The subcontracted plumber determined that the leak was due to a crack in the existing cast iron pipe below our new connection, which meant it was not necessarily due to the new construction. Sergio's team handled replacing that section of cast iron by going through our dining room wall on the other side of the kitchen. He felt bad enough about that problem and schedule delays that he offered to do some work in our dining room in addition to closing up the hole. He skim coated and painted the walls and ceiling and installed new crown molding. While overall we are pleased with everything, we think Douglas, one of Sergio's painters/drywall workers deserve specific commendation. He did a great job floating the drywall, skim coating and painting. He was also very friendly and wanted to make sure we were pleased. For the quantity and quality of work we had done, we are really, really pleased with Sergio and are very happy to have selected him for our project.

Sergio s very busy and was hard to get hold of initially, but met us on time for an estimate. He started the work on time and the demo went very quickly. We needed to have the painting done before we moved in, it was close but he made sure it and the floor refinishing were completed. He recommended a tile person, who was very helpful, a vendor for cabinets and fixtures, and a shower enclosure company, all of which we dealt with directly. Sergio is very accommodating, even picking up a vanity from the home improvement store himself. His crew was very punctual, a number of them don t speak English very well, but we managed to communicate. The tile in the master bedroom bath was initially installed very poorly. Sergio came to inspect it, agreed, and sent a different person to pull much of it out and redo it. The result was outstanding. His stated goal was to make sure we were happy at the end and we were thrilled.

This is the first time I have performed renovations and was very nervous about the whole process. I received multiple bids for the project but went with Sergio because of his reviews on Angie's List as well as my initial interactions with him. Called him and he came out that same day to look at the place. The initial price he quoted me is the one he stuck with. I really enjoyed working with Sergio throughout the process. Always answered all my phone calls or would return quickly; honest and pleasant. Initially planned to only renovate kitchen but was happy with his work and trusted him enough to continue renovations in bathroom, family room and basement. I am very happy with the results and will use him again in the future. (Above price is labor cost and not cost of materials).

The process: I m proud to say I ve been another lucky member to have Sergio s Renovations working at home. Sergio s company is one of those special crews you rarely find. Even when the structural and electrical job ended up being more complicated and time consuming than originally expected. Sergio s positive and practical approach made it possible to find the best solutions technically, aesthetically and economically. Sergio and his crew completed the whole project, including permits, in just about two weeks! Everything to make sure we could come back with our twin babies as soon as possible from our stay in a hotel nearby. The result: Everything from electrical to painting was done with the highest quality you can find. The attention to detail combined with Sergio s great design solving skills made of this renovation a great improvement for our house as well as a great remodeling experience for us. Sergio is that good!

Sergio came within minutes of my calling him (he happened to be in the neighborhood). We agreed on the work, the price and the start time. The day he promised he was there at 7:30. His crew is skilled, nice and very hard working. They try to solve any problem mostly successfully. Sergio was very responsive to any questions and he has a great rapport with his crew which makes everybody work together very well. All worked out beautifully. He is going to come back in the Spring and do some work on the house.

Excellent! Sergio sanded, sealed, and stained the front entryway and even painted the top and sides which we hadn't discussed, but he did at no extra charge just because it enhanced the look of the finished job. Now the front of the building looks beautiful. Even more important, after the exterminator got rid of the rats in the basement, Sergio, instead of just filling in the holes in the foundation, built an entire new concrete wall that the rats couldn't get through now if they had a sledgehammer and he went around and made sure all the other holes were plugged up. AND, when they were finished, Sergio's men even cleaned up all the rat droppings! All for the originally quoted (and incredibly competitive) estimate. Unbelievable!

He was good. He did the job well and we really like our new closet.

The work went very well. Sergio showed up exactly on time for our first meeting, started the job a day ahead of schedule, and finished the entire job in less than 10 days. Sergio is a great person, extremely well organized, and he always returned my phone calls very quickly, usually within a few minutes. He seemed genuinely interested in getting the job done right. The people working for him were punctual, polite, hardworking, quiet, extremely talented and careful, and they cleaned up well at the end of every day. They even stained the new bathroom cabinet to exactly match the color of surrounding woodwork. I'm still waiting for the bill, but I expect it to pretty closely match his estimate, based on everything else that has happened so far. I'll update the report when I see the final bill.

Never got a call back, so they get an F!

Sergio and his company were amazing--I had a very small bathroom with a stand-up shower that needed serious help. Not only did Sergio have fantastic design ideas to make the most of the small space, but also ways to help give the illusion of more space with tile orientation/size, color schemes, etc. He is great at what he does, and was a complete pleasure to deal with. His work crews were always very professional and friendly, and if their English was not perfect, Sergio was always only a phone call away. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. My mom & I own this rental property together, and she was completely amazed at the quality of his work, especially given his reasonable prices. When I re-do the bathroom at my new house, I will be calling Sergio first!

I have used Sergio for previous work and called him to take care of this smaller job. The problem was to make invisible patches and then repaint the patched areas without being able to see the repair. The patches were so good that you cannot see anything. If you look closely, the patched area looks better than the other areas. The paint matches perfectly and saved a whole repainting job. Sergio was able to do the job as a fill in so his men were there the next week and finished in less than two days. The cleanup was exceptional both days. I would never consider any other contractor.

This company is among the most professional contracting firm I have ever dealt with (and I've dealt with many). This project took place days before Christmas and Sergio and his team worked day and night to complete the project within the time frame promised. Sergio is extremely responsive--I always felt like he was helping me solve my construction issues with the most cost effective solutions. His crew and subcontractors were very respectful and courteous and took great care to protect furniture and other valuables while performing their work-and the quality is great! The cost was very reasonable for the amount of work I had done. I even asked Sergio to come back to do some minor things after the project was complete, which he did without hesitation. I highly recommend this company!

Responded to initial inquiry. Very easy to work with, low-key. Arrived on time with huge crew. This was just before Thanksgiving and had crew work overtime to make kitchen/bathroom usable for Thanksgiving as promised. Covered up all furniture, entry ways in area to minimize dust.
