Six months of h***. Despite so many promises and assurances from Rick D'alessandro, the job is still incomplete. Don't use this guy unless you want to lose your money, your time, your hair, and possibly your health from his terrible work. HE IS UNLICENSED. HIS WORK VIOLATES CODE.
Description of Work: DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR. R & L Plumbing is also RP D'alessandro Plumbing and Heating aka Rick D'alessandro now of Stoneham and/or Medford, MA. Worst contractor experience ever. See my full review under his other name. He is quick to take your deposits, and very slow to never to get your job done. Plus I just learned his licenses were yanked by State of MA and yet he still continues to do plumbing work... unlicensed. His work violates ordinary standards of basic quality AND puts the customer's health and home at risk. Witness the water puddling all over my basement floor (mold/mildew risk) because he just cannot get it together to put in two $70 condensation pumps on a ten-thousand dollar job. (He claims he does not have the money to get the equipment. That's odd, because I have paid him over seven thousand dollars already including several unscheduled extra payments.) He did not put in air filters (three dollars-plus each) which means dust and other crud is getting blown all over my home unnecessarily, and which also lowers both the efficiency and the life expectancy of the furnaces. He did not put in external air sources, meaning that there is a risk of carbon monoxide being taken into the furnaces and blown into our living space, putting our health and lives at risk. When the gas company man pointed this out, Rick YELLED at the NStar service technician and then hung up the phone on him. The code inspector said it's not code to vent such large furnaces from my size basement without external sources of air. Rick did not seal the holes he put into my house to run pipes. I am still waiting for that permit and inspection... an inspection he would NOT pass given the shoddy and incomplete state of this job.

Description of Work: We contracted with this company in June 2007 to install a new heating system. They initially took 1/4 deposit and then requested another 1/4 deposit. They repeatedly did not show up to perform work as promised, lied, and acted in the most unprofessional manner imaginable. In late August, they did come and partially removed our boiler (leaving us with no heat) and "bled" the radiators. They never came to complete the work. Multiple attempts to negotiate with them and ask for our deposit back were unsuccessful. They did, in fact, make several promises to return the money, but to no avail. Also, the "work" they performed on an upstairs radiator led to a major flood and considerable damage when a reliable heating contractor later performed the work. They should not be in busines, and no one else should have to deal with their lies and unprofessionalism.
