I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT ANDY AND THE GUYS AT ERICKSON FUEL.LAST YEAR WAS THE FIRST WINTER IN OUR NEW HOME. WHEN WE HAD THE HOUSE INSPECTED BEFORE PURCHASE, WE WERE TOLD THAT WE WOULD EVENTUALLY NEED TO REPLACE THE FURNACES AND HOT WATER HEATERS. WE THOUGHT WE WOULD BE ABLE TO GET A COUPLE OF YEARS OUT OF THEM BUT THAT WAS NOT TO BE THE CASE. WE ALMOST DIDN'T MAKE IT THROUGH THE WINTER. I FOUND ERICKSON FUEL LISTED AND CONTACTED THEM TO COME AND LOOK AT WHAT WE NEEDED DONE AND TO GIVE US AN ESTIMATE FOR THE WORK. THEIR'S WAS ONE OF A COUPLE OF ESTIMATES WE GOT. ANDY ARRIVED ON TIME AND WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND PLEASENT. HE WALKED THROUGH AND GAVE US RECOMMENDATIONS. HE TOLD US EXACTLY WHAT HE COULD DO FOR US. HE KNEW IT WAS A VERY BIG UNDERTAKING FOR US AND HE MADE EVERY EFFORT TO PUT OUR MINDS AT EASE AND MAKE IT AS PAINLESS AND EASY AS POSSIBLE FOR US. AT THE BEGINNING OF THE WORK, WHICH TOOK A WEEK, ANDY AND HIS CREW WERE THERE EVERYDAY AND ON TIME. THEY WORK VERY H****** THE HOTTEST DAY OF THE SUMMER. THEY KEPT TO THE SCHEDULE AND THE SCOPE OF WORK THAT WAS TO BE DONE. THEY EVEN DID THINGS FOR US LIKE FIXING PROBLEMS FROM THE PREVIOUS OWNERS DIY ATTEMPTS THAT AT TIME WERE OVERWHELMING, BUT ANDY AND HIS CREW DID AN ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL JOB. THE SYSTEM THEY INSTALLED IS TOP OF THE LINE AND EFFICIENT. IT LOOKS BEAUTIFUL. THEY DID A MARVELOUS JOB. WHEN ALL THE WORK WAS DONE ANDY WALKED US THROUGH AND EXPLAINED EVERYTHING TO US . HE SAID IF THER EVER WAS A PROBLEM JUST CALL. THEY ARE AVAILABLE 24/7. HE EVEN TOLD US ABOUT ALL THE REBATES THAT WERE AVAILABLE TO US TO HELP DEFRAY SOMNE OF THE COST SIGNIFICANTLY. THAT IN ITSELF WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL. OF ALL THE CONTRACTED WORK THAT I HAVE HAD DONE OVER THE YEARS, I HAVE NEVER HAD A MORE PLEASENT EXPERIENC THAN I HAD WORKING WITH ANDY AND ERICKSON FUEL. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE WHO IS LOOKING FOR THAT TYPE OF SERVICE WORK TO BE DONE FIVE STARS IN MY BOOK..
Description of Work: REMOVED 2 ANCIENT FURNACES AND HOT WATER HEATERS AND INSTALLED 2 TOP OF THE LINE EFFICIENT HEATERS AND HOT WATER HEATERS. THEY ALSO MADE ADJUSTMENTS AND REPAIRS TO EXISTING EQUIPMENT.

This is a company who apparently doesn't want any more customers. In October, I had contacted Erickson to set up automatic delivery for a rental property I have in Medford. I had previously used the company for many years and didn't shop around knowing that the quality of their work was generally acceptable and reasonably priced. I was told at that time they would send me a contract/credit application and to send back the credit application and call for the first delivery. Since the unit was vacant and the heat set at a minimum, I didn't need a fill until a new tenant was moving in just prior to New Year's. The contract/credit application was never received but I figured I could pay for the delivery with a credit card or something. I called and found a confused secretary (Lorraine), who had no idea what I was talking about and who informed me that they would need to inspect the system prior to making any delivery. I informed her that I had tenants moving into the unit and was not going to disturb them for something that I should have been informed needed to be done when I first contacted the company in October. Throughout the entire conversation there was never a gap long enough to actually look up information. I was never asked to hold while they looked something up and the brief nature of the conversation's back and forth would have made any significant research impossible. When my family lived in the house, we had a contract for delivery and services for many years, and only cancelled when we moved out 8 years ago. Three years ago I had them make a single delivery and do some additional work, so I was rather astonished when the owner came on the phone (less than 4 minutes into the call) an said he didn't want to do business with the address because he had a bad experience there 10-15 years ago (another clear indication that he didn't bother to look anything up). The only possible way in which he had a bad experience with me was when he did the work 3 years ago and was pushing to replace the burner that still worked just fine and I refused. He also asked if I could require my tenants (who at the time paid for their own heat) to use his company - something that is blatantly illegal since the tenants were paying for the oil and contract at the time (and as a real estate agent, that is something I knew absolutely). The logic of this particular argument also baffles me. Granted, we have owned the property for over 20 years, but residences change ownership and occupancy all the time. The address in question is a multi-family house so how does he know he is talking with the same person he had a "bad experience" with previously. He probably has had a "bad experience" at any random address you can come up with so why bother trying to do business with him. His rude attitude, obvious disinterest in regaining a good paying customer, and general level of business ignorance prompted me to call him an idiot and hang up. The company I contacted afterward was happy to do business with me, even on such short notice, so I will absolutely never recommend Erickson to another person - something I used to do all the time.
Description of Work: Absolutely nothing this time. Previously the company had done work for me at the address listed and my contact was to initiate additional work at the address.
