Overall, we spent 2 months waiting for them to get back to us with estimates. The initial contact was fine, and Wesley came to our place promptly to look at the job. But then the estimate took about a month to arrive, despite several requests from us for the information. (Instead of telling me it would be several weeks, I was simply told "Karla is working on it.") When the estimate arrived, the price was the best we had received, several thousand less than the competitors. Despite serious reservations about their slow estimate we decided to trust the good Angies' ratings and pursue the job with them. I contacted them to say we had chosen their estimate and wanted to pursue doing the job with them. I discussed the job with Karla, and sent in information she requested on Sep. 28 so she could update the estimate with some related painting/staining. (I knew she might have a few more questions and asked her to contact me if there were any problems.) Once again, it took over 4 weeks to receive the updated estimate. When I hadn't heard back after 2 weeks, I emailed to express concerns about our time frame, because we hoped to get a tax credit for 2010. They emailed to ask if I wanted to set up a telephone conference with Karla, and I said yes, but then I didn't hear anything for another two weeks. We finally gave up and decided it would be better to work with someone who would return our calls!

These are the best contractors I have dealt with in my 20 years of owning multiple homes. All my homes have been old homes and I have been involved with lots and lots of projects, and again, these guys are the best of the best. I will be working with them almost exclusively from here on out.

It went great. They were ready to begin the project immediately. The guys were incredibly pleasant, accommodating, and professional. They were able to provide good advice on color choices. The end result looks great.

Mr. Coehlo came himself and gave a complete estimate including the damaged areas that needed replacing. The crew came as scheduled; there was a brief time when they went to another job, but the job was finished expeditiously. In addition they give a guarantee to repaint areas that are not quite right within a year of the work. they came and did this without a problem, repainting some damaged gutters.

If I could give A+ I would have. Karla (the owner) and Wesley were really easy to work with. They addressed any and all concerns. There were no surprises! They began the work right after Labor day when they said they would. There were always about 4-5 men here working constantly. The painters were wonderful and very considerate. I have indoor cats and was concerned about open windows when they painted the sills. They always made sure to check before opening a window. The quality of their work was exceptional. In fact 3 folks walking by the house have commented on how great our house looks. One woman from across the street took the name and phone number from the advertising on their truck as she saw how hard they worked and what a great job they have done. Their attention to detail was amazing, even painting the gutters 2 tones to match the house. I'd also like to add that our house is not a simple house to paint. It's an 1890 Victorian - "painted lady" - meaning we have 3 colors.

They worked steady from the start, about 10 hours a day. The husband and wife owners were very available. The wife helped me pick out tricky kitchen colors to coordinate with granite/wood trim etc. She had a great sense of design.

From 1st phone call through end of job company & its employees were excellent, thoughtful (we have dogs) & very helpful & wanting to please. Bets paint job ever.

As of 9/13, they still have yet to contact me back. No real person answered the phone either, just an answering machine. Update 9/13/10: They never called me back and I called them today at 4:00PM and someone answered. I told her that I left a message and that I never heard from them. I was told that they don't do small jobs and would only do big jobs. They even told me that they wouldn't even rebuild a chimney unless I was willing to replace the whole roof.

Called three times to schedule an appointment for an estimate. First time they cancelled do to inclement weather, the second time they cancelled with no explaination, the third time they just did not even show. All three times I called to confirm and was told that someone would be there. Too bad as this could have been a good job for them as it involved a condominium building! If they can't even be there to give an estimate, imagine what they would be like if they got the job!

On time, friendly, helpful, and careful. The problems have come later as various things fell apart (sink off of wall, tub glaze failed, kitchen counter shifted, dishwasher fell from mounting, door was warped. A couple things got fixed, most did not, and it was very hard to schedule those that were. In short, the upfront service was great, the followup needs were largely ignored. A shame, because we really liked them and thought they were different.

I felt like we were a low priority because it took a lot of nudging to get them to come out and have them finish the work.

They did an exquisite job with their craftsmanship. They design and work was tremendous.

Can't say enough good things about my experience with this contractor. They were nothing but professional in all aspects of the project. Communications were easy either by phone or e-mail. They were always courteous. Their bid on the work was clear, detailed and showed they'd actually listened to me. The price they asked was not the lowest I got for the job, but it wasn't the highest either. Their visits to inspect the outside of the house and to measure for the windows were on-time and conducted in a straightforward, no nonsense manner. The siding work took about a week and their attention to detail in doing the repairs was excellent. The surface prep, priming & exterior painting took 3 of their men 3 weeks, working long days in pretty hot weather. They applied 2 coats of paint. Again, their attention to detail was excellent, and they displayed real patience waiting for us to finally pick colors. Their color consultation was quite helpful. Installing the windows took 2 workmen less than two full days, which I thought was quite quick. They always did an excellent job cleaning up after themselves. They left nothing behind to show they were there except their excellent work and some extra paint for if we ever needed it. Can't praise them highly enough, and I'll definitely be using them again. They lived up to their reputation and awards. Cost of wood siding work: $4500 Cost of windows: $9500 Cost of painting 3000 sq. ft. house with large garage: $10000

The painting went well and looked good when finished. I had to ask for more scraping and siding replacement as they went along. Unfortunately, paint peeling and chipping started to occue a year later. They gave a 5 year warrantee, and the first call back was handled quicjkly and wwell. I happened again the following year. Again, they did the repair work. It has happened since ont the trim, but I have not called them again because the wowneer wasn't too happy about it..

They were ok. Quick to give an estimate and take a deposit, but slow to start the work. Once they did start the work, the rushed. They did a good job with painting the home's clapboards. They did an average job with painting wood detail, e.g., arbor, portico, latice work, wood gutters, etc. Unfortunately they cut corners. For example they did not paint the top of exposed wood beams on arbor, portico, etc. They also did not prime certain areas before they painted them, which lead to cracked and peeling paint. They also oiled wood gutters without first cleaning them, so we ended up with a gooey mess of stuck on leaves and debris in the gutters. When we discovered the problems several months after they completed the work, we asked them, consistent with the warranty they had provided, to come and finish the work or correct their mistakes. Unfortunately, they never responded. Overall we were disappointed with the work done, which was surprising since they appeared to have good reviews from others before we engaged them. We were left with the sense that they were too busy at the time, and the end result was the quality of their work suffered.

I got the name of this company from a relative who knew someone who had used them. They came out to give me estimate. I received it promptly via email the next day. I also got follow up emails and calls on my projects to see if I had any additional questions, which I did and were promptly answered. If I planned to be in the property longer, I would have considered using them even though their estimate was on the higher side.

It went excellent. They offer 5 year warranties on all their work. They did a primer coat on top of a finish coat. They had strong in-house carpentry capabilities. They were also administratively responsive. Good communicators.

Our project was too small for Coelho (4 windows), but she suggested a carpenter she's worked with in the past that could to the work. We are currently working on a quote with him now.

It was very good. He was attentive. It was a thorough job. He had a very good warranty that we haven't had to use. They did a good job in preparation of the painting job. It was a very big job. We had difficulty with weather early in. It was difficult to finish because of this. We did have some replacement windows installed in the fall by them as well. They came when they were going to come. There was little bit of a language problem. The owner came out and introduced us to the foreman. He also came out to check on he project, but sometimes when you are trying to explain things to the foreman it is difficult. That is a barrier that we are going to run into with any work going on. Everybody was very nice and pleasant. They were attentive to anything you had to say. They cleaned up well after themselves.

I talked to them over the phone and we agreed they would come by and take a look at my roof when I was not at home. They said they did come by and would send me an estimate but they never did. Subsequent phone calls inquiring about the estimate were not returned.

Warning, this company is under new management, and the transition has not been smooth! In July 2008 we had our porch replaced and it was everything Angie's list had led us to believe. Marcos was in charge of the site, and they were swift, professional, skilled, and he has great instincts for detail (I'm really picky, so that's saying something). Generally they were everything you could hope for. It wasn't cheap, but it was worth every penny. In February, Emmanuel came out for an estimate for replacing the windows and the side door. He was as helpful and thorough as ever. He placed the order for the windows. That's the last I heard for about a month. When the windows came in, it was a new receptionist who called to tell me. Brendan was not good about returning calls or emails promptly (or sometimes at all) but eventually the windows went in, though scheduling was hard. I'd pretty much get a call the morning they wanted to show up saying they were on their way. If I happened to be out of town, then we'd have to start all over. The installation was fine, but the caulk is cracking, and I'm going to have to go back and touch it all up. As a side note, I specifically asked to have the windows, pullies and sash weights saved rather than trashed, but though they saved me the windows, it turns out they closed the weights and pullies in the walls. When they came to put the door in, I got a call from Karla that morning saying she wanted to come over that day. I was already at work, but luckily had a housemate home who could let them in. She then called me back saying that the threshold of the door was totally rotted out and that it was going to cost extra to replace it. The threshold was so obviously rotted, I had pointed it out to Emmanuel in the first place, there's no way he hadn't intended its replacement in the original estimate, since we had had a whole conversation about it. But Karla insisted that since it wasn't specified in the contract she was going to have to charge me more. That's when it came out that Emmanuel is no longer with the company. I gather that Karla was there all along, and I trust that as long as they held on to Marcos, their carpentry will remain strong. And Karla was willing to work out a compromise with me on the cost, but beware their rocky transition over there!

I made an appointment, but they never showed up.

We first contacted Coelho and other Angie list reccommended painters late last summer and we hoped to be painted if possible late fall. Weather prevented them from getting to us until July, but they waited for suitable weather and did not rush the project. We are very happy with the results and people walking in the neighborhood compliment the way the house looks.
