The entire process went very well. They were very responsive and gave a very thorough estimate. There was some vague communication about the start date. They simply showed up on a day that I specified as not good for us. We worked it out an they started the process the following week. They were higher on the price end out of the four proposals we received. Their proposal was by far the best and most extensive. I had to call the other providers many times to try and figure out exactly what their figure included. Coelho was all spelled out in the proposal. The painters we very courteous and professional. After the job was done we called in some touch ups after examining the work. They promptly came and addressed all the issues. Their carpenter was also very good. Now, one year later the paint job looks as good as the day they completed it. They did a very good job and we have received many complements from neighbors on the workmanship.

Slow start due to weather delays. There was a mistake made by the paint store and part of our house was painted with the wrong shade of a color. Coelho quickly acted and repainted the house in the correct color without any bit of fuss. Just fantastic!

They were punctual and provided a clear description of the proposed work.

The estimate went well. They showed up when they said they would. They were easy to work with. I just decided to go with another provider - felt more comfortable with them.

This company was listed as providing handyman services, including vent cleaning and clearing. Those services were listed on the Company's website, as well as on the Angie's List information about the company. I called and left a message about what I needed. Several days later I received a return message saying that the company does not perform those services and that they are a general contractor. So, I was left starting from scratch on finding someone to do the work I needed, even though they advertise that they do that work.

The experience was very good. The crew was fast, thorough, knowledgeable, professional and very pleasant. The work is well done. Many people have stopped to compliment us on the work.

I had had a good experience with Coelho installing a roof at a previous home. The only problem was that, after what was supposed to be a thorough change/improvement of the roof, I had a leak from a skylight and they charged extra to come and repair that. Overall I gave them an outstanding review. In the spring of 2011 I contacted them to inspect the slate roof of my new house, which I had been told must be checked carefully every year, and recommend improvements to avoid ice dams. Karla walked around the house with me and made a good many recommendations. I agreed to all of them. Several months later they still hadn't done anything, so I called again. It was hard to reach anyone but finally they agreed to get the work done. Several months later, still nothing had happened. I called rather urgently and got them to schedule the work. The men who came to do the work had no idea what the detailed recommendations were, and I had not received a list or made my own list. They ended up mainly updating the sealing around all the windows of the house, something we had not originally discussed, and repairing some copper flashing. Much of the original agreement had simply been forgotten. A few weeks later I discovered a leak from a skylight--the kind of thing I had originally asked them to check--and also two tiles that had fallen off the roof. They said they hadn't actually done any checking of the roof, and that they never did tile roofs. That would have been fine, except that checking the tile roof had been one of the main things I'd asked them to do, and we had gone around the house six months earlier looking at the roof and discussing what might or might not need to be done. They referred me to another company, O'Lyn's Roofing, which they said did tile roofs. As far as I could tell, the work they actually did was fine. Given the time the workers spent, their price was reasonable.

We are very pleased with the outcome. Like any repair project, they ran into some issues that weren't anticipated - Rodrigo handled the problems and adhered to his estimate (although there was extra labor and materials involved). The finishing work is beautiful - he did a great job. He completed the job as promised, - we highly recommend his company.

I was happy at the time, but I have a hard time closing the windows, and I've had to repaint my porch stairs since they were here.

Our house was overdue for repairs. The front of the house and the porch roof and gutters were in such bad shape that birds were nesting in the dormer. We live in an historic district, so materials and final look needed to be consistent with original designs, and to complicate the issue, we were planning on a vacation and wanted to have the work done while we were away. We needed a company that had experience with historical preservation, and that could be depended on to communicate when necessary and make intelligent decisions while we were gone. We found that in Coelho Contracting. Their estimate was extremely detailed and specific, including mention of areas that might need work once the porch roof framing was exposed. They were not the least expensive quote we received, but it was very important to us that whoever we worked with had experience in our historic neighborhood. Despite the extremely rainy spring, which made construction deadlines difficult, they kept us informed, and started and completed work within days of their estimates, at the agreed price plus the anticipated framing work. The results were beautiful. The owner and estimator, Karla, was a joy to work with -- smart, responsible, honest and always on top of things. We returned to all work completed except one small section that needed our OK, and the additional small project of installing mosquito netting curtains on the repaired porch. These were done expeditiously. We would heartily recommend the company for future work, and would definitely consider them for any construction needs we have in the future.

Everything was good. He showed up and I realized that I had gone to school with him. I did not know that before and I ended up using them because I went on Angie's List and saw them. They had to order the windows and it was a fast turnaround time. They are all custom-made, acoustic windows and all are in good shape. I only wish I had different moldings done for the windows. I just wish they had given options with that. The workers were good and worked fast. It was actually very fast and I was surprised. I have recommended them to others. I would suggest that you choose your own molding. They were professional and the price was good. They were on time and the customer service was good. I had a window that got damaged afterward and a representative came out and fixed it. It was not them but they got the information and somebody came out and fixed it. It was a faulty window and wasn't their fault.

I liked their service. The owner of the company was very proactive as well as the office manager that worked with the service team. They addressed all of our concerns almost immediately. The one thing that I had an issue with was the initial scheduling of the project which was not coordinated very well because we were out of town. Then when we got back we wanted to start the project then they said that the team would notify us whether they are starting work that day. So I send the team back because I wanted to make sure that my mother-in-law and children were not in the house when the projects were being done. So they came back after a few days and started the project and they were very good. They cleaned up very well, they were professional, the painting job was well done, and the carpenter was amazing for replacing the hard wood. Overall it was a positive experience. I highly recommend them. Price wise they were little on the expensive side. Their proposal was actually the most professional and extensive. They were very responsive. I will use them in the future.

Their estimate was for 27000. When they came to provide the estimate they were on time and they were professional.

Overall, the condo owners were very happy with Coehlo and the finished work. Workers were friendly although English language was difficult with most. Therefore, sometimes to let the managers know something would require calling and email. They checked in periodically. We didn't get a formal notice/phone call of when they would start and were woken up by the workmen. Coehlo let us know about repairs they recommended and asked our permission to proceed. Every contractor has some issues, we were overall very happy with the results and that Coehlo could do all: carpentry plus painting.

They were very responsive and professional. The person that I dealt with was very responsive. He got people to work on time. I was generally better than satisfied with the quality of their work. I think they did a really good job with the painting. With the construction there were some parts that didn't go as well as I wanted, but overall it was good. They were better than competitive in terms of price and everything. There were times when people weren't showing up for various reasons, but it wasn't a huge deal.

They were on time. They got the job done quickly. They were really professional. Their price was little high. I would use their service in the future too.

They have done excellent work. We needed to communicate with them because when they took the shingles down they found the windows were in bad shape and we had to decide what kind of windows needed to be replaced. There was so much that needed to go in the communication that he felt we needed to be quite active so they didn't overcharge us and tried to save us money. The work was excellent and they did a wonderful job so the house looks really wonderful. They gave us a warranty and we haven't had any problems so far. None of the shingles have fallen off. We saw their work in our neighborhood. Their quote was a little bit higher but they do quality work so we paid the extra dollars because we had seen their work.

I am impressed with them. They are responsible. They showed up on time and did a good job. They came when they said. Their estimate was accurate. I would rate them pretty highly. Overall experience was excellent. Price was good but not excellent.

I use Coelho Contracting Inc. regularly. He is the manager for the apartment I own. I use him all the time and he is great. It was like a lot of material that was installed for fire proof. He is really great; he is on time, very communicative and I probably would trust him to do anything.

It was really good. They cleaned up after themselves, very courteous, and their price was very competitive. I feel I got a really good value for my dollar. They were the only company that I talked to that offered a guarantee for 5 years on the paint job itself.

They were very good. It was one room but it was a room with plaster walls and ancient wall papers. So, it was a huge job to strip out the old wall papers, sand, repair the walls and then paint them. They did a marvellous job of cleaning up when they were done. It looked as though there was not work done in the house as there was not dust and no foot prints. I was very impressed with how well they cleaned up. They showed up when they said that they would and they finished when they said that they would. They also charged what they said that they would charge and the quality of the work was excellent. Their price was a little higher than some of the other estimates that I got but they had the best reviews and hence I was willing to pay an extra couple of hundred dollars to make sure that I was satisfied with the experience. I would say that their price was competitive but not a bargain.

I spent probably $20000 on that work. They were actually very good. They were really good in terms of communication and responsiveness. The guys were courteous and their punctuality was good. I thought that their pricing was fair.

I contracted with Coelho in late September/early October -- due to bad weather in the fall with lots of rainy days, the job was delayed in starting. I can't fault the company for that, nothing they could do about the weather. They finally started the job at the end of October and quickly moved through the first few steps of scraping, washing, and priming, and maybe the first coat of stain and/or paint. But then they had so many other jobs that had also got delayed they disappeared and went to start those without really communicating to me what was going on -- for weeks it kept stopping and starting and it was up to me to check in, they never got in touch to let me know what the schedule would be. Finally around Thanksgiving they said they were finished -- I got home that night and had to get in touch once again to let them know that the porch stairs hadn't been stained, the front door hadn't been painted, there were paint smears where there shouldn't have been (including on my year-old vinyl windows), it looked like the back top of the house hadn't even got it's final coat of stain, and the stain on the back upper porch decking had been done very badly. I was told the workers would come back on Thanksgiving day to fix things and because I was out of town had to go through all these machinations to get a family member to come let the painters into the cellar -- when I returned they'd barely done any work. So I had to call and schedule everything again -- back came the supervisor and he and another worker quickly fixed everything on a Saturday. Or so I thought. The next day I was taking photos of the house to show friends & family -- I went across the street to get the best angle of the house and saw that a whole strip of trim under the roofline had never even been touched and was still the original brown paint. I was suspicious and went back to look at the back of the house -- sure enough, the same thing was true of the back right under the roof line. So I had to call yet again and the supervisor came out within a day or two to make the fix. I think the house is done now, but frankly I don't actually know what I'll find over the coming months. They don't seem to be responsible enough to do their own quality checking -- I had to keep looking everything over very carefully and give them lists of mistakes or things that hadn't been done at all, I don't think they would ever have taken the initiative to do anything unless I called them on it. And I suspect that they rushed through a lot of the job and really glopped on the paint and stain in places -- I'm still not happy about my back porch, when there's precipitation it doesn't dry normally the way it used to. I think this is because the stain was put on so thickly it obscured the seams of the boards and so there's no natural way for moisture to funnel off. Coelho has a good reputation and I would normally say their pricing is good -- they've had good ratings on Angie's list and I know they did a good job on a friend's house a year or two ago. But when they hit all the scheduling trouble after this fall's bad weather they didn't handle things well, communicated very poorly, and really seemed to slack off on quality control. I can't really recommend them. Update July 2013: the paint job on my porches has been failing for almost a year -- it's obvious that there wasn't adequate scraping/sanding and priming, because it's either just wearing away in spots or there are big flakes breaking away from the wood. Not even three years, and the paint job has to be fixed (which I'm having another company do). I've downgraded their quality rating to a D (I'd say F, but the body of the house is fine).

They were prompt and did good work on the roof. Two quibbles. They did not consider that flashing the skylight was part of the roof job, and I had assumed it was, so I had a leak. They then charged me extra and fixed that well. They also left a mess in the yard until I complained. But those are quibbles because when I needed work done fast they came fast, kept at it until they were finished, and did a good job. I would strongly recommend them.
