We had been using Barrett Tree Service East Inc for all our tree needs and we are very satisfied with their service and follow up. Our tree suffered a lot of damage this past March and Barrett came over to take care of fallen branches and to help us salvage the tree. While working on the property our backyard ladder was damaged. They immediately informed us and followed up with replacing it with a new one. The entire experience with them from having Marc come over to give us an proposal, their work here and their follow up has been exceptional. I would give them more than 5 stars if I could.

Excellent. They are very professional - very pleasant to work with, very clear communication both in person and through email, prompt, and responsive to any concerns. They have deep thorough knowledge about trees and their work crew is excellent. You get the feeling it's a very well run company so everyone is good to deal with, and they are all good at their jobs. They are more expensive than some other tree services but I think you get excellent, reliable work from them. Lots of other places don't have such professional, knowledgeable people and their crews are not as well trained.

We couldn't be happier with the work. Barrett was incredibly professional, knowledgable, and responsive. We trusted them implicitly. They expertly removed trees safely, and did a wonderful job of reducing a few trees canopies. They saved a few limbs for us to season as firewood, and because they finished early even cut up the limbs into smaller sizes. We were nervous about the removal do to tree size/location near houses, and the size of the backyard. We felt immediately at ease upon their arrival. As a person that also works in the Landscape industry I truly value their knowledge and skill set. Not to mention how meticulously they cleaned up and put everything back exactly where it was when they got there. Even the bird feeder. They are more expensive than other companies, but we were happy to pay for this quality of service and skill.

It was so easy! They were able to come out quickly and provide a prompt quote. We were flexible with scheduling and decided on a date a couple of months out. They confirmed the work a few days in advance and the day of the removal went very smoothly. Everything got taken care of and they even had a good attitude about working on a small, narrow street in Cambridge. Lastly, they did a nice job cleaning up afterwards. Definitely recommended!

crew arrived early, laid down ground protectors and got to work man in the bucket kept cutting and the 4 on the ground kept cleaning up work was completed in 2 hours and the cleanup was excellent

I talked to Alden Johnson, arborist in Fall last year to evaluate those two trees in our back yard. We communicated by e-mail numerous times to discuss the best way to handle the situation. He is extremely patient, answered all my questions. Since it was hard to tell which branches were dead when there were no leaves in the Fall, he recommended to have him come over in late Spring when all the leaves are out, so I don't have to have them come over twice. Alden came in June after received my e-mail request. By this time the bottom part of Tree of Heaven truck are rotten, barks are peeling. They scheduled to have the work done whin 5 weeks. They are very honest by not perform the work last year. Very professional, sent me the proof of insurance upon request, took care of all the permits. The crew members came on time with the crane and all the equipments. They are very courteous, knowledgable and skillful. Did a great job on cleaning afterward on our yard and our neighbors yard. They are highly recommended. I have been using them several times before and I will definitely hire them again in the future.

We have many ornamental trees and a giant hemlock on our property that were all in desperate need of pruning and shaping. In June, Keith from Barrett came to review the scope of work, listen to what we wanted to achieve, and make suggestions. He recommended postponing the work to fall, partly because of our mutually busy schedules. His proposal seemed fair and reasonable and we scheduled an exact day in October. On the appointed day a double team (6 in all) arrived, headed up by Adam, who once again went around to review the job. These guys were amazing! Professional, courteous, responsive, thorough, capable. Two men spent almost the entire day in the hemlock, pruning and cabling. Every worker was partly artist, partly gymnast. And Adam himself worked harder than anyone. The crew paid attention to esthetics and to our need to open some views, took their time in making sure they were satisfied with the outcome of each tree pruned (17 in all.) Their equipment was sharp and left clean cuts. They even removed and chipped some brush that we had cut up and left our property immaculate. Delighted and highly satisfied with Barrett Tree Service East. So glad we found them.

Alden and the rest of the Barrett folks were excellent to deal with. They performed with the highest professionalism, exceeded expectations with the very mature linden tree looking fine after the heavy hair cut! Appreciate that they kept to the schedule, even when the weather seemed threatening. Highly recommended. Two visits for extensive site work and insecticide did it. Good advice for future plantings in that area as well. Highly recommended.

Barrett is the best! We were concerned about this project because it involved removal of some large trees on a steep slope behind a home with tricky access. Barrett took the time to walk through the project with us in advance so that we and they understood it thoroughly. Other companies just wanted to name a price and show up to do the work. Barrett sent a large crew who performed the work smoothly and expertly. They worked incredibly hard all day and when they finished, not an out-of-place leaf or branch remained. Total professionals and very nice people!

Service is always exquisite. The chief arborist visits first to look over all the trees, discuss needs, and make a plan for service. Soon after he sends a proposal. Once I ok the proposal we schedule the work. The crew always arrives on time, treats our trees and property with respect and care. They remove all trimmings and clean the driveway. Finally, they leave our trees looking healthy and cared-for. We've worked with them for 6 years, in which time they've pruned and shaped, removed dead trees and planted new ones, cleaned up storm damage,and kept our trees healthy and safe. The crew members express a fondness for the trees they take care of. I can't praise them highly enough.

Great. The crew were totally professional. There was not a lot of room between houses, and the crew were very careful about making sure the branches that were cut came down without damaging anything. After they finished cleaning up my trees/yard looked great.

They do all of our tree work because they are a pleasure to deal with. I think their prices may be on the high side, but we're willing to pay because we trust them implicitly. They are always willing to explain carefully what they will be doing or have done. They arrive on time, clean up and are highly professional.

The assessment and treatment proposals for 5 trees and the planting of 1 new tree were thoroughly executed. The cost is equivalent to that proposed by another reputable agency, which is expensive but I feel well worth the investment for the maintenance of the health of plants that enhance the beauty and value of my property.

They arrived punctually, removed the dead tree and planted the new one within 90 minutes. We have used this company for at least four years and have been happy with their service.

The folks at Barrett were a pleasure to work with start to finish! They listened well to our needs and helped us prioritize aspects of the yard project to fit within our pretty restrictive budget. The work was performed exactly as discussed and the yard looks great!

Everything went very well! It was a pleasure dealing with Alden when he came to scope out the job and the crew who did the job. He was very careful to make sure things would go as planned. I'm so used to something going wrong, but everything went well from start to finish. We had to use my neighbor's driveway to access the trees, even he remarked how professional the crew was. They left his yard exactly as they found it, in good condition. I will definitely use Barrett again.

Ryan and team were terrific. They removed about 6 trees from our yard, ground the stumps, and trimmed what remained-- and our trees are at least 4 stories high, so it was a massive job. Ryan's communication skills and organization are impeccable, and the team worked so professionally. They also helped us coordinate the complicated issue of getting parking permits to clear a small lot next to the yard so they could move their crane and chipper in. Our yard feels much more open. Highly recommended!

I solicited bids from 5 or six tree removal companies. Barrett was competitively priced, listen to my needs and worked with me on the project to address any and all questions. Would absolutely recommend to friends.

Having been very satisfied with job Barrett had done for us a few years ago, We got an estimate on this and some other work last fall, and notified Barrett the middle of this month that we wanted to go ahead with the Birch Tree. They responded within a couple days and said that by chance they had had a cancellation and could do the work on Friday of that same week. We told them that we had some delicate plants in the vicinity of the tree that would probably not survive relocation and were told by Keith that they would do their best to avoid harming them. The crew showed up on schedule Friday morning and I showed the crew chief the plants that we were concerned about. The work was completed within a couple hours or so. The job was done neatly, and apart from a little sawdust on the soil, there was no sign that the tree, or the crew, had ever been there (see photo of where tree was). The crew was extremely careful of the surrounding plants and shrubs and no damage was done; and they cleaned up the area around the tree and the chipper/shredder thoroughly, including shredding a few branches broken in the recent storms and cut off by us. Everybody from Barrett that we dealt with, especially Keith and the crew chief, was extremely professional and easy to work with.
