We noticed that a large tree split and only avoided falling on our house because a small pear tree was holding it up. In a minor panic we called Trumbull on a Sunday afternoon, and he came the following morning to assess its stability. He assured us the dead half of the tree wouldn't come down on the house and made an appointment with us to cut it down. We went around the yard with him as he assessed our other trees, and he made recommendations such as crown capping the cedars to remove the weight of their tops to prevent further splitting. He also gave us an estimate at that time minus his Angie's List discount. His crew arrived two weeks later, and I couldn't believe what I was seeing - there were three guys climbing our trees! Their cherry picker wouldn't fit in the back yard, so they climbed them. They were very professional and pleasant, and they raked and cleaned up after themselves as if they'd never been there. They got the work done quickly and completely and came in at the estimated price. We're so glad we found Trumbull through Angie's List and highly recommend him and his crews.

The job was quoted approximately a year ago. They are responsive and return calls promptly. Trumbull visited us a few days before the job to go over the work to be performed. Trumbull and his crew came on site when they said they would, performed all the work as requested and left the place cleaner than they found it.

Excellent work overall. We had two trees pruned and the guys did a great job. Not only did they do great work, but they were quick, they explained everything to me before they did anything, and they cleaned up all of the branches (plus some branches we had lying around before they showed up). I highly recommend Barrett Tree Service East.

I would recommend him. He is great and he responded quickly. He came by to look at a tree that needed to come down. He told me what it would entail and the price was fair. He did the work and cleaned up well. He left the place as good, if not better than he found it. I think he is great. It pained me to watch the tree come down. I recommended him to a neighbor who is using him.

They were excellent. Their estimate was fair, and it was exactly what I paid. They came the day they said they would, even though it was a freezing day. When they were done, everything looked great. I am so pleased with the work they did. I couldn't speak more highly of them. They were very punctual and response. I intend to use them again.

We had a large tree limb break off a large Oak and was hanging high above the street. We called Barrett after 7 PM at night and they returned our call that night! They were at our door by 8:30 AM the next day, gave us an estimate and were there by 2:30 PM to do the job. Everyone was polite, very helpful, and professional. They cleaned up quickly and left us in great shape. We are hiring them for more work. I can't recommend them highly enough.

The work was performed punctually, promptly, and professionally! We are completely satisfied! We had received an estimate from another company that was also highly rated by Angies' List members. This other company provided an estimate for cutting down the tree, but told us that they would be unable to grind down our tree stump because the asphalt in our driveway (surrounding the tree stump) would damage their equipment. The limitations of the other company not withstanding, our paved driveway did not seem to present any difficulty to Trumbull and his crew. We would gladly use them again.

Was very pleased from start to finish. Trumbull came out and gave us an estimate on the job, as well as some advice and feedback about the trees on our property. When the day of the tree removal came, Trumbull and his team -- five people total -- came at the appointed time with all of their trucks and equipment. They worked hard and professionally. Even though it was a cold February day, each time they broke for lunch/snack/rest they would sit in the yard and have a picnic even though they were welcome in the warm house. In the end, our yard looked great and everything was done as they said they would. We were very pleased.

Fantastic! Trumbull was easy to communicate with, polite and attentive to retunring my phone calls and emails in a timely fashion (usually that day! - which was rare for most of the other tree services that I spoke with). The crew showed up and worked extremely hard all day and did a fabulous clean up job. Extremely satisfied with the experimence. Trumbull should teach a class on how to run a good business and how to treat the customer.

We called for an estimate in November, Barrett came out quickly and we subsequently had a telephone conversation about the services needed. All very prompt and professional. The time between the estimate and the date they gave us to do the work seemed a little long, but we weren't in a hurry and they came on the promised date. The crew was very careful, safety-conscious, and professional throughout. For the taller tree, the crew leader climbed way up, secured a rope around a limb or a section of trunk, sawed it off, and lowered it via pulley to the crew below, repeating this process until about a 25 ft. stub remained. For the stub, he secured a rope around the top and notched the base, and the crew pulled it over. (The direction of fall was very carefully planned and executed.) The second tree was taken down in the same manner as the 25 ft. stub of the first tree. The work was fascinating to watch! A photo with the crew leader waaaaaaaay up in the taller tree is attached.

They were great. They were very responsive. We conducted most of the business on email. I met Trumbull Barrett in the morning to go over the project. He gave a very fair estimate and was very understanding of what I was doing. He gave me a discount for being an Angie?s List member. They were very busy. It was almost a month between the estimate and the actual work but he was very clear with me that he was busy. I would rate them highly and would use them in the future, if necessary.

I contacted Barrett tree service via the internet for an estimate on removing some tree limbs that were over hanging my house. I reviewed them on Angie's list prior to the estimate. Trumbull Barrett contacted me that day and set up a meeting. We reviewed the work to be done and he gave me an estimate for $600.00 dollars. I told him I had a coupon for $30.00 dollars off and he accepted it. I gave them the job. Trumbull and his crew did an great job removing the tree limbs and cleaning up after. Trumbull cut every limb I asked to be cut and then some. Great Company.

Great experience. Trumball came on 10/21 and provided an estimate for all of the work and delivered his estimate via email PDF within 3 days. Provided the best price of three companies. Scheduled out 1.5 months (busy season) and arrived on time with full work crew. Made sure to introduce me to the entire crew working on the property and the foreman for the afternoon. Work was completed in under 3 hours. Full cleanup and excellent quality work. Very clear that the health of the trees was taken into account. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them to anyone needing meaningful tree work done.

It was like watching a beautifully choreographed ballet! Trumble's team was so well coordinated that each did his part simultaneously and they finished right on time. the whole neighborhood was in awe. They worked very hard and in pretty awful conditions ( snow/sleet).

It went very well overall. They arrived within their time frame , took the tree down in pieces due to it's location (it was in the corner of my yard between my shed and the neighbor's behind me). Took it down with no problems , they even had a way to take away the excess saw dust from cutting the larger branches. All debris was cleaned up even some branches I had hanging around. I would hire these people again.

Mr. Barrett was responsive to my request for an estimate, provided a written estimate without promting, and arrived on time. The work was done to perfection, including clean up that left the yard looking better than before the job.

The tree for which they gave me an estimate was taller than our house and it was all dying down in the center. They did a great job and completed the work in one day itself. They were neat and clean. The tree service guy was right on his estimate and he was great. He hired a crane to come in to take off the tree that was cut down. There was good coordination and everybody did a great job. They were super overall and if need be, then I would use their services in the future too.

They are terrific, the job was done quickly, on time and at the price I was quoted. The area was cleaned out completely, there was no debris left over and everything they had to moved was returned to its place. My yard looks terrific and I'm very glad to have used their services.

We had two companies bid on a project to prune back branches from our roof, each proposed the same service - cut the branches back to create a 15 ft envelope around the house - Barrett's bid was half the price. Trumbull Barrett came out to give an estimate one day after I called and showed up on time and cleaned up after the job. I'd recommend their services to a friend.

They were booked by our neighbors. I called and asked if they'd do some work for us while they were here. They agreed, and did a great job!

Trumbell and his crew provided the perfect level of service throughout the entire process. On his first visit he took the time to walk the property with me and discuss each tree's needs as well as the best approach to allow more sunlight in the yard. Based on his notes, he was able to provide an estimate on the spot. Though his price was not the lowest, I chose his company over 3 others I met with because of the time and attention he gave to my project on this initial visit. On the day of the work, he and his crew arrived on time and he again took the time to introduce me to the crew and walk everyone around the property and review the plan for each tree. The work was complete and the yard thoroughly raked by mid day. The following day, as promised, a receipt was emailed to me as proof of payment. Plain, simple, good friendly service.

The person who came out was very professional, pleasant and was passionate about his work. I did not feel rushed or pressured to make a decision. Their estimate was higher than the other estimates that I got.

Mr. Barrett and his crew of 5 arrived exactly on time. Mr.Barrett reviewed with me what I wanted done from his list from the estimation visit. I added an additional tree to be removed and asked to have a large tree stump from a previous tree service removed. It was a great experience and fascinating to watch them work. Two crew worked on the large oak trimming job for approx 4 hours. One in the bucket, the other climbing around the limbs very carefully trimming the branches. The tree looks so much happier now! They placed planks on the lawn for the trucks to drive on without making ruts. One misshap: Mr.Barrett cut thru the FIOS cable. This was because he was carefully manuevering around yard plantings and didn't want to harm any. Well, the cable was too low and loosly hung in the first place. Mr.B called the cable co and had it fixed by the end of the afternoon. No effort was needed by me. Now the cable is hung much better. Thank you Mr.Barrett! Mr.Barrett sets a great example to his crew..he worked at least as hard as them. They worked till dusk getting my firewood cut and split (perfectly to my specs) and then beautifully stacked. They left more me more wood than expected. Everything was cleaned up. They even swept the the dust from the oak tree trimming off the pool deck. They did a fantastic job and earned every bit of the fee. I will make an appointment next month to have them come back in the spring for more prunning. Thank you Barrett Tree Service. First off, Trumbull is way cool. Heck, he could easily pass for a Vermonter. He called back right away, and came for the estimate promptly. He suggested services that seemed really appropriate and revealed his knowledge and care about tree stuff. So the first thing he did was to string up the small trees. Then his partner came and cut the tree with his chain saw, and Trumbull just eased that tree down to the ground like nothing! They dragged it to their chipper, and it ate the tree like a pencil sharpener eats a pencil. Amazing! Then they attacked the pine trees. They were 10 - 50 feet off the ground for HOURS in the POURING RAIN, and did a very nice job of trimming the trees and cabling together the branches that could be at risk of splitting. They were friendly and willing to explain stuff, and just a pleasure to have around. They didn't mind me watching, and in fact, I found it pretty fascinating. I mean, I could never do this stuff.
