They did a good job. Nothing fell down during all these storms. I think they really knew what they were doing. He wasn't overly aggressive. He seems like he cares about the trees, he wasn't just here to give everything a haircut. He was punctual to the minute, absolutely on time. They are very friendly. You never knew they were there, and they didn't trample my flowers. They were very careful.

We were extremely impressed with them. Barrett was outstanding. We did not want to use heavy pesticides and they were good at coming up with a fairly non-toxic mix that was acceptable to us. They found what we were looking for and were very good at providing information. It was outstanding what a difference it made in terms of the foliage. The tree was fuller and had a lot more acorns and leaves this past summer. The price was in line with what we expected to pay. They are very knowledgeable, another company misidentified the trees and the treatment. They were quick and accurate in identifying trees and explaining things. They care about the trees and enjoy the work they do. We will definitely use them again.

I requested three bids for this tree work; Barrett East and one other company had similarly low quotes, while a third company submitted a quote twice as high. Barrett East is a busy company, with a backlog of six weeks work when I contacted them. It sometimes took a day or two to get communication back from them, presumably due to their busy schedule. Work was rescheduled once due to inclement weather, but company squeezed the work in a week later at the end of the day. Tree team was efficient, working into the early evening during darkness with their headlamps. They did a good job avoiding damaging plants and shrubs in the yard, and cleaned up well afterwards. The quality of their pruning was apparent a week later when we had a snowstorm with heavy, wet snow that brought down many branches, trees, and power lines all around town. No major branches came down from the trees after Barrett East did their work -- even from two Sycamore maples! -- which testifies to how effectively they identified and removed all dead branches from the trees. I will definitely contract with them again.

I contacted Mr. Barrett from Angie's List. My main objective was to reduce animal access to my roof and house, and to trim branches that can damage wires and roof. I also needed to crown several large trees & remove deadwood, as well as grind some old stumps. Mr. Barrett came promptly, inspected the property, and took care to write down everything I wanted him to do. I especially liked the fact that he did not try to convince me that I needed additional tree work. His answers to my questions made sense and he is professional and honest. He promptly sent me a very detailed proposal and price. His men and equipment came on the date agreed, and I was impressed that they walked the property with me and went over everything contracted. We agreed that there would be 8-10 feet of clearance from all overhanging trees to the house and roof, and 4-6 feet clearance for several trees next to my house. They worked counterclockwise and methodically, removing broken limbs, anything hanging over wires, roof or house, crowning large oaks and maples, removing deadwood from several trees, removing a dead hemlock, grinding several stumps, trimming a large dogwood & Andromeda next to house, and removing a Euonymous vine that was grown into a fencepost. The men took great care to minimize damage to the lawn with their large equipment, they worked quickly, and were very professional. When done, the head of the crew walked the property again with me to make sure they did everything that was agreed upon in the contract. I was extremely pleased with their work, will use them again, and recommend them highly.

Trumbull is a true professional. The trees came down exactly where they were meant to fall (not on my house). After removing the tree there were branches everywhere with Trumbull cleaned them up. He left the sight beautiful, it made a big difference, my yard looks 100 x better.

Perfect. Our neighbors wanted everything overhanging their property cut off. Barrett did a great job. Their main concern was the health of the tree. I could not be happier, well unless the neighbor had changed their mind and let the tree be.

My yard, is bordered by 5 neighbors and many trees. Every estimate I have received to remove and prune has always been too expensive, so I put off dealing with the tree issue. All 6 of these trees also belonged to neighbors, that were not maintaining them, and they were blocking my garden and causing danger to my home. Trumbull came out, met with myself and my elderly mother and walked us through everything. He e-mailed me all the legal documentation I needed to have the neighbors sign, and gave me an estimate I thought had to be a mistake. He and and his crew showed up on time, and did an amazing job. We even added some work once they were here and it was no problem and again the price was right. Trumbull and his team are very respectful, and accommodating. There was zero cleanup for us to deal with. Trumbull was very, very patient with my mother who had many questions and concerns due to previous issues with Contractors and work not completed. Trumbull put her at ease and made the whole process easy. I will have them back in the spring to complete all of the work that can possibly be done. I very highly recommend Barrett Tree Service. I originally Found Barret Tree Service for my boss. He had some major tree work that needed to be done. They met with him at 6:00 Am as that is the only time my boss was available. Trumbull showed up on time and a few weeks later his crew came, with the big cranes and did the job. They were great with the neighbors and explaining what was being done and alleviating concerns. Trumbull was not at the site for this job, and his crew were fantastic all the same. I was so impressed I had to use them as well.

Everything, from showing up for the estimate to doing the work, went very smoothly. Also very flexible with specific requests. Recommended.

Trumbull Barrett responded quickly, assessed all of our trees & made thoughtful recommendations. The work was scheduled to take place a month later. When the date arrived a crew of five guys showed up on time, shoveled snow which had fallen the day before and went about their work. They finished the whole job in two hours; were quiet, nice and very professional. They cleaned up all of the fallen limbs. The trees look great. We can't imagine having had a better experience.

Trumbull was very prompt in responding to calls and met me at the site to provide a free estimate. Several tree companies just wanted to come see the work at their convenience without meeting me. Trumbull scheduled the work in a reasonable amount of time and kept to the exact date he had set for the work. The workers were professional and left my yard in great shape. It was a pleasure from start to finish.

I had an excellent experience from start to finish. They arrived on time to give me a quote and perform the job. They were up-front and honest about everything, and the finished job looks exactly like they said it would when I was quoted. The quote was also lower than any other one I received. The crew that came to do the work, was impressively quick and professional. Everyone at the company was very friendly, and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or recommend them to anyone that needs tree work.

Trumbull and his team were quite knowledgeable about tree condition and overall health and did a stellar job. Trumbull helped select trees for crowning and pruning and trees to remove that where either sickly or overcrowding other trees. His team worked on the property for about 8 hours; the crew sized varied throughout the day from 3 to 5 staff. They were courteous, professional, and did an outstanding job. Clean-up was great. My property, about .85 acres that is about 1/2 covered with trees, looks amazing!

He said that he would be at my house on November 5, 2010, after finishing a job in the morning. He and his three-man crew were there right on time. They worked nonstop for about five hours. I watched them almost the whole time since it was so interesting watching them cut down the huge oak tree. They worked carefully and skillfully and, as I said, without taking a rest. At my request, they also left some branches for my neighbor next door to use in his wood stove. They cleaned up all the rest of the branches and many of the leaves that were still falling. I was very pleased with the results.

I live in Newton Corner and had one tree in a difficult location that was dying. I got an estimate and it was totally resonable. In order to get to the tree two neighbors had to clear their driveways and Trumballs crew had to lift their bucket over a fence. It was an amazing operation. They told me it would take an hour or two, and I thought, "yeah right." But low and behold they were there on time, took the tree down, shredded it up, cleaned up and were done in just about 2 hours. Boom, tree gone. They even let me watch. These guys were great. They were kind, clean, funny and really good at what they do. Buy these guys coffee when they come to do work at 7am. They totally deserve it.

Trumbull Barrett arrived to look at the job and give me an estimate. He was professional and courteous. I would have preferred to have the job done sooner but they were very busy and we set it up for 3 weeks from that day. Two days before our appointment he called to say that they were going to arrive mid morning instead of first thing. I appreciated the notice which allowed me to get errands done before they arrived instead of hanging around waiting for them. That day it never stopped raining but they were still up in the trees. They did a great job and cleaned up beautifully. They aren't cheap but they are pleasant and thorough.

We live in a house with three condos, so we needed an estimate to bring to the association and the owner Trumball Barrett was responsive when I called. He walked through the yard and explained what the trees needed -- pruning dead limbs and branches, fertilizing and composting -- and gave me an estimate for the work on the spot, complete with a breakdown of costs. This was particularly helpful for us because we want to phase the work. I work in the landscaping field and think the cost is very reasonable, especially for a company with experienced people who specialize in tree-care. Also, they let us know right away that they have a lead time of 5 weeks (which is not a problem for us, but which I appreciate being told as opposed to wondering when people will show up.) We will definitely use them! Will report back on how the work goes!

Barrett Tree Service is a first class tree service. Trumbull Barrett responded to my email immediately by calling me to set up an appointment. He promptly arrived at my house to assess the job, and addressed all of my concerns by writing them down on paper...... not trusting to memory. His estimate was very reasonable. Because of the volume of work scheduled, he gave me a start date of September 10th which was fully acceptable to me. Barrett Tree Service knocked on my door with a two man crew on the morning of September 10th to begin work on the two maples in the back yard. Their work left nothing to be desired, and they were finished in about two hours..... hauling away all the debris and leaving the yard in tip top shape. Their work was superb and the price was right. I definitely will use Barrett the next time the need arises.

I thought their price was fair and their work was very good. They explained what needed to be done and why it needed to be done. The tree looks great now,a nd I am no longer worried about big wind storms.

Barrett made an appointment to walk my site, arrived on time, gave me a reasonable quote at the end of the meeting. I really liked this crew, they were careful, punctual, and knew how to prune to achieve exactly what I needed. I had three other estimates, and by far, Barrett was the best.

They were polite and helpful over the phone. They came out quickly to cut up and take the branch. The work was exactly what I wanted. The price was fair. I could not be home at the time but they trusted me and billed me by mail for the work. Now I know why they are rated so highly.

I hired them a back in August and they scheduled me for mid-September. They showed up as promised and did the job exceptionally well. The tree was a mess and the previous owners didn't do a very good job trying to prune it themselves. Now the tree looks cleaner and healthier, and I am looking forward to years of better growth.

Very well. I plan to use this contractor. He was communicative, timely and knowledgeable (Certified Arborist). I had been particularly concerned about a disease in the base of a tree that hangs over my house, but he put my mind to ease.

Trumbell Barrett came to my house to review the tree trimming that I wanted to have done. I have about 10 overgrown hemlocks that are about 25-30 feet high and a couple of magnolia trees that have never been pruned are are overgrown and misshapen. Trumbell patiently worked with me to review the work and clearly discussed how each tree would be trimmed. I was very comfortable with his recommendations. His approach was to hand-trim the trees rather than shear them off with an electric trimmer. He took detailed notes about each tree, so that he would not have to re-ask later when he arrived to do the work. I was also impressed that Trumbell didn't do any upselling. Trumbell was up-front by telling me that he was booking work about 4-6 weeks out, which was fine with me. I was interested in having the pruning done right (i.e. promoting good tree health) and was willing to wait. When Trumbell and his crew arrived and completed the work, I couldn't have been more pleased. He arrived with a bucket truck (cherry picker) and used it for the trimming the hemlocks, which was a great solution for doing the work without damaging the lawn. In addition, he and his crew trimmed the magnolias very well -- they look like normal magnolia trees now! The best part of the work is that continuously asked me for my feedback, if I wanted more trimmed, etc. The entire crew was professional and courteous, and they not only did a great job trimming, but they cleaned up everything before they left. It was excellent work! I added Barrett Tree Service to my contact list and will not consider anyone else when I have tree work that needs to be done.
