PAT COMMANE

Pat was charming with his Irish accent as he applied for the job. He told me which nursery to go to to pick out the shrub that I wanted as a replacement. I phoned him with a tentative list but let him know I had not yet made a final decision. He showed up the next week with a truck load of 35 shrubs, without having checked with me re my final decision, and started planting them. I walked down to the area where he and his workmen had already planted 3 or 4 shrubs, realized they were the wrong ones, and let him know they were the wrong ones and I was not happy about that. He did not offer to correct his mistake, and I must admit I was intimidated and did not insist that they remove the shrubs already planted and take all 35 of them back to the nursery to exchange for the correct choice. I complained again to him later, and he did not offer to make any kind of restitution. In addition, he did not put down a weed barrier, which he should have done as an experienced landscaper. We must now weed the area for 1-2 hours every week, which should have been avoided.
