John Crichton Plastering

We've used John Crichton for two separate projects on our house. He has always been punctual, professional and fairly priced. Plus, he's a really nice guy and great to work with. In my opinion there's really no need to look for another plasterer if you can book John.

John and Chris were fantastic! John was able to come give me an estimate within 2 days of my initial call. Work was performed the following week. They arrived on time, carefully covered all my furniture and finished within 2 hours. He even offered to come back the next business day to do the sanding himself because he was concerned about the mess it would leave if my husband and I did it ourselves. They were both very personable. Definitely will hire again.

John and crew of two others arrived at 8 a.m. I had to leave a couple of large pieces of furniture in the room, they were completely/thoroughly covered before they started working. Job was completed by 1 p.m. They cleaned up the room, bagged and removed all job-related debris and reassembled the bed for me. Ceiling looks great.

John and his workmate Chris did a super job. The painted wallpaper in both rooms was a total bear to remove and added two days to the job (which was communicated clearly). John had also included this in his estimate as it was unclear as to the extent of the need to scrape. There was no additional charge, therefore, and John would have reduced the price had the 'extra' work not been needed. John and Chris were unfailingly polite, punctual, and respectful of other rooms in the house not included in the work. Given the amount of plastering done, it was surprising that the dust clean-up was not terrible. The walls and ceilings look super. I only wish these two painted as well.

I called John for a quote. He responded quickly to my request and explained why the original repair had failed. I accepted his quote and asked him if he could start shortly. John accommodated my request and completed work within his estimated time frame of 4 days. I found John and his co-worker Chris efficient, courteous and professional. My spouse and I were very satisfied with their work.

John was neat, efficient, always on time and did a great job.

John is fabulous! This is the second time we've used his company for plastering. He always returns calls, lets you know length of project, and his availability. It is always a pleasure to work with him.

Mr. Crichton responded promptly to our initial call. He also came out punctually within a week, as promised. His work was done within the frame work promised and was completely satisfactory. In addition, he was pleasant, neat, and his price was reasonable. We would use him again and recommend him to others.

Awesome. We've hired John for 3 or 4 jobs over the last few years. He's knowledgeable, prompt, friendly, and his work is excellent.

John Crichton returned my call for an estimate right away and came out a few days later to look at the job. He told us the job would take three days and he started and finished it on time. We were really impressed by how well he cleaned up each day and he also called us each night to see if we had any questions. The rooms came out excellent! Our house was built in 1932 and the rooms on the second floor were a mess. The walls are an early type of sheetrock that were covered with several layers of wallpaper which we removed before we called for an estimate. We weren't sure what he'd be able to do with them, but John told us that it shouldn't be a problem and recommended a certain primer and paint in case any stains surfaced through the skim coat. There were a couple of small spots we need to touch up, but overall we're very satisfied with the job.

They did a wonderful job and were easy to work with. We would hire John again. His prices were quite reasonable and he is a conscientious person.

John came over on a Saturday with a helper, and he did a fantastic job plastering the wall. Prior to starting the job, John called to confirm the date and time that he was coming over. He was on-time, cordial and did the job for the price agreed upon. He and his helper covered up the floors and windows. They installed blueboard and plastered afterwards. The finished job was awesome! The wall looks great and is very smooth, there is no need to sand it down. I would definitely hire John again, he's reasonably priced, reliable and easy to work with.

We moved into the house knowing this project needed to be done. We waited eight years to do it, which coincided with the birth of our first baby. John was honest about the mess, time, and clean up needed. The plastering job looks good and the mess was not as bad as expected. John was great about sealing the rooms & clean up. I would recommend John to others.

John is a true professional, a perfectionist, and a very hard worker. I trusted him completely with a key to the house. We handed him a very tough job (after taking fake panelling and ceiling tile off the entire second floor of an 1880 house, we discovered everything needed to be redone). He handled the difficult assignment with grace and humor, even when he arrived one morning to find we had not yet done everything we said we would do to get ready for him. He was always on time and his crew cleaned up after themselves. Overall, a great experience. He charged what he said he would charge, even though the work ended up being more extensive than he had thought. A great guy!

John and his assistant Chris came early, worked hard, and did an absolutely beautiful job. They came the day after I called, and finished the entire job that day. John is a true craftsman, which is rare. The price seemed a little high, but we consider it was worth it. The room is absolutely gorgeous. We have already recommended John to friends.

From estimate to job completion John and his assistant were top notch. He arrived on time, with the right supplies and the right attitude to get the job done. He completed the job as specified and on budget, even after I slightly increased the scope of the job. The crew did a fantastic job and kept a very clean work site. Highly recommend.

He also noticed a crack in my wall and fixed it without charge. Very charming, professional, and fun. He even brought me tee because I was on crutches.

My wife and I are exceptionally pleased with John's work. He was very willing to work with us on this restoration project. He was always on time, very courteous and very willing to explain everything he was doing. Great attention to detail including extra work on corner beading that he did not charge extra to do. We are very pleased with the finished job. The job was done on time and on budget.

Excellent experience. John came out to quote the work very soon after I called him. He let me know what he was working on, and fit me in to his schedule quickly so I could continue moving into my new house. I threw a few curve balls at him because I didn't have all of the work done I thought I would before he got started. I promised to have all the blue board up, but only got the office done. Also, I had drilled many holes while installing blow in insulation. He had no problem with the extra work this created, and was very reasonable in charging only slightly more than his original estimate ($150). Beyond that, he worked with me to be sure the prep work I had done would turn out right. He and his apprentice were neat, clean, and careful. I will continue to use him for other work as I renovate this 125 year old house. The walls and ceilings turned out fantastic!
