+ -1 moreI accepted Whitcomb's bid for the job in late June, understanding that the work would not be done until later in September. Emailed them 9/18 to check where things stood, and they said I was "on their schedule" and they would give 5 day notice before starting the job. I emailed again in late October wondering what was going on and Whitcomb responded with the news that with the poor weather their schedule had been disrupted and they were not able to do the job. There were no prior emails warning me or keeping me in the loop re their schedule. Of course, I was furious and wrote telling them so in no uncertain terms. Their reaction was to take offense, telling me to stuff my arrogant indignation. You be the judge.
Description of Work: Deck staining and screen porch painting.

+ -1 moreWhitcomb Painting was fair, responsive and reliable. They worked weekends and around movers and other contractors to get the job done on-time and for an extremely fair price. Very seasoned and knowledgeable team, were able to make helpful suggestions along the way.
Description of Work: Provided all sanding, prep, prime and finish for multiple areas and surfaces throughout 100-year old home.

+ 0 moreThey arrived at work on time, were very clean, felt very comfortable leaving them alone in the house, even one time they walked my dog. They were very professional, friendly and worked very hard while they were at the house. They thoroughly researched questions we had on colors (and believe me, we looked at lots of colors). Their prep work was great and the final product is beautiful. I would hire them again and will do so in the future.

+ 0 moreThey were very professional from the time they quoted the project to the last day of work. They were puntual, never mssed a day and completed the project on schedule. They were patient and took lots of time researching colors( and I mean a lot of colors, so many choices out there). They were wer clean, personable workers who as i got to know them, I became quite comfortable leaving them a key to the house to work when I wasn't there and they once even walked my dog for me, talk about service. The best thing I can say is the communication was excellent, there were no surprises and they finished on budget. I would would hire them again in a minute and will do so in the future.

+ -1 moreThe numerous times that we have used them over the 22 years we have been very happy with their work. They are very nice guys to have around, and we have recommended them to many of our friends and neighbors. They are professional, honest, and really take pride in their work.
Description of Work: Remove wallpaper from mudroom and half bath, dining room, living room, kitchen, and, upstairs. Paint all trim on and walls in the mudroom and half bath, the dining room, living room, kitchen and upstairs office. Prior to this most recent job Whitcomb Painting has been our exterior painter since we purchased our home in 1992. They have painted the exterior of our home two or three times.

Description of Work: We have used Whitcomb Painting for the past 20 years. They are our #1 painting team and would not think of using anyone else. They have painted both the interior and exterior of our house numerous times throughout the years along with our vast white (pain in the neck) fence. They are always here when they say they will be here... they call if they are delayed or have to reschedule. They clean up at the end of the day and store their equipment neatly for the next days work. Brian & Chris are always kind and pleasant along with patient as they wait for decisions on paint colors! Along with being great painters who will get the job done well and in a timely manner, both Brian & Chris are trustworthy and we feel completely comfortable with them working in our home. We highly recommend Whitcomb Painting without hesitation and we will continue using Whitcomb Painting going forward.
