Spotted Salamander Organizing & Design

I originally hired Felicia to clean and organize my basement. It was an unusable disaster. It took us about 15 hours but when it was done, it was AMAZING. She organized it for ME, so that I could keep it organized and clean. It was such a powerful experience I hired her to do every room in the house. It was the best thing I've ever done for myself. I now know where everything is and I put it back where it belongs so I can find it again. Sounds so simple but it's not easy to do on your own. For me it was impossible to do on my own. Felicia works with you to make a plan that works for the way you think so you can stick to the plan. She also has an art background so things are beautiful as well as organized. She's a miracle worker!

Felicia is a ball of energy when it comes to decluttering and organizing. She’s a blast to work with – she always has a smile on her face, she hums a little tune as she works, she asks pointed questions (e.g., “Why are you keeping this? “Do you really need 200 paper bags? Are you ever going to wear this 20-year-old jacket again?” etc.), and she gets down on the floor and plows through clutter in no time. I hired her back in 2018 to help us organize and declutter in anticipation of moving, and she worked wonders in a matter of hours. As an added bonus, her service included taking bags of decluttered stuff with her for donation, recycling, and disposal. She’s extremely handy, too, so she even did some furniture repair for us. As it turned out, we didn’t move until 2021, but the joy and relief I felt living in an organized house was life changing! When we finally did put our house on the market 3 years later, it was easy because of the excellent job Felicia had done for us previously. Once we moved, I again hired Felicia, this time to help unpack and organize our new home. Felicia is a true gem, and I highly recommend her!

I've worked with Felicia extensively over the years. She has helped me to put systems in place to help keep my home organized. I never feel judged or shamed with her - she just rolls up her sleeves and gets to work. She's like the energizer bunny - always moving, always working, always trying to make my home function better. She also has a very good eye for design and decorating - she helped me pick out paint colors for my walls and then helped with some of the painting as well. Working with her was always fun - we were laughing and organizing at the same time! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone that needs painting or organizing done.

Felicia is an artist. She can walk into any cluttered room and see its clean, well-organized, comfortable future. Then she digs in down to the details and patiently guides us to release our clutter and transform every room from floor to closet to shelving. She can tame the fiercest paper tiger into a tidy filing system, build custom shelving, desks, gates and more. Felicia dug us out from ten years of inherited housewares from four parents' downsizing and death, and worked with us to process our grief and let go of the STUFF while cherishing the memories. She works with compassion, humor, patience, and tireless energy, and became a personal friend. You can't go wrong!

I hired Felicia as soon as I found out I was responsible for emptying my mother's 2 bedroom apartment in 30 days. I ended up with numerous hospital stays so time really got tight. Thanks to Felicia, the apartment was cleaned out 3 days ahead of schedule. It was a miracle! Felicia knew what to donate, what to sell, and what to throw out. She contacted experts and worked fiendishly hard. Things were packed so well, nothing was broken. She took the emotion out of all the thousands of decisions so things got done fast and correctly. I don't know what I would have done without her. She paid for herself several times over.

Felicia was a pleasure to work with. She provided good information and helpful suggestions. She accompanied me to a couple of close by stores to view the furniture I was considering and look for throw pillows, etc. I would definitely seek her advice again and enthusiastically recommend her to friends.

For me, home organization is an ongoing process. It's not perfect yet, but my home now functions well. I'm able to put things "away" instead of just putting them where they'll fit. I can get things done around the house, which I haven't been able to do in a long time. Felicia's energy and humor are contagious, and it's fun to work with her. She asks very good questions, listens to my answers, and helps me design systems and spaces that will work for how I do things. She never judges and is always supportive - two essential qualities in a home organizer.

Felicia was very professional and efficient. She got back to me right away about scheduling and always showed up on time. She provided all of her own painting supplies. She did a great job of prepping the rooms, painting, and cleaning up afterwards. It's a pleasure to work with her!

It took almost a year but it was the best thing I've ever done for myself. Felicia made my house work for me. I spend almost no time looking for things. I either know where it is or I don't have it. She made a system that works for me. It's unreal how much better my life is. It's been about 3 years and my house still looks fabulous. I can have people over anytime, without warning. I used to never let people in! Felicia not only organizes, she makes things beautiful. She has an art background that makes her the perfect person for the job. Even my basement is beautiful!!!

This went way better than anticipated! Felicia was able to quickly size up my existing furniture (we stared in my old apartment so she could see what I would be brining) and how to place it in my new home. This went so fast and she was so efficient! More than that, she was really fun to work to with. She witty and funny and very personable. What I wasn't expecting was all the amazing ideas she had along the way. She pointed out pitfalls I might accidentally fall into and suggested decorating improvements I hadn't even thought of. I'll continue to hire her for smaller projects as my new home comes together. She is definitely money well spent!

Felicia was easy to schedule time with a pleasure to be around. Our conversations floated easily between getting to know each other's personality and style and the nitty gritty of choosing colors from those daunting color wheel. We started in my current home so that she could get a feel for my current décor, furnishings, and style. We then moved to the new place. As soon as she walked in the door tips and tricks were flying. I was really impressed with her ability to size up my goals and desires for my new home and translate to actionable suggestions. Her color choices were spot on. After painting several samples of her suggested colors along with a few I added of my own choosing later, I went almost exclusively with her original suggestions. One thing I was particularly impressed with was her ability to provide suggestions on home design tips I didn't even know the I was missing. It's these little touches that are really going to make the home look finished, lived in, and well designed. We spent an enjoyable 3 hours together. The time was efficiently used. I would definitely hire her again.

Great. She is very quick to access options and put the ideas to work right away. I will use her again when I am ready for the next step in my decorating.

Felicia was wonderful! I have no design skills and needed a plan for my bedroom including paint color, furniture, artwork, rugs, etc and had no idea how to pull it all together. Felicia gave me some ideas before we met then we narrowed everything down while she was here in person. I was so confident after her consult I picked my paint color and purchased furniture that day! She's funny, knowledgeable and professional - what more could you ask for? I highly recommend her services and would hire her again.

She was ready to make changes in the first visit by taking what I have and putting them where they look best or asking me, do I love it and like it. If I was not sure, provided assistance on making the decision. Gave ideas on my problem areas of the house that I knew of and reviewed the entire house to make it flow and efficient. Suggested improvements, took notes for implementing ideas we discussed. I agreed on implementing Felicia's ideas and shopping for me. The rates are reasonable for the time and knowledge into making the space functional and homey. I am excited for her next visit which will be settle two more rooms in my home. Just in time for the holidays!

WE LOVE FELICIA! In two hours, she helped us to recreate our entire condo! She has a great eye for color and design, a feng shui leaning and more energy than we can describe! We downsized to a condo last summer after merging two households of "stuff." We really needed help making the space into an "our home", integrating his and hers, and displaying objects and art that are important to us both. Felicia is warm, funny, decisive, and honest. And did we mention energetic?? We can't wait to have her return in a few weeks to help us tackle our walk-in closet! We can not recommend her enough!!

It went really well. Felicia is excellent! We spent time in each room, in some cases repositioning furniture and changing up pictures, going over what I thought were challenges and Felicia offered a number of really great, easy-to-implement suggestions. She definitely understood my design preferences and gave me a number of links to vendors that I could peruse and purchase different items from. I would highly recommend her to help you with your home design projects! I will most definitely be consulting her again in the future. :)

It was a good experience. The service was just what I needed in order to get my house ready for sale. I appreciate that she took my taste and the type of house into consideration.

Felicia was great, energetic and really made me open my eyes to being more creative. She instantly knew what type of style I was looking for. After she left, I went right to work and all of her suggestion for our living room have come together very nicely. My only suggestion would be that during a consultation if a follow up email could from with all the details/information we discussed. I kept a lot in my head, but it would be great to have received a summary. She was great and I would recommend!

It can be somewhat intimidating to embrace the use of color indoors when you've become accustomed to white walls. Felicia was great in asking about our likes and dislikes with regard to color preferences while considering our furnishings. It was so helpful to have an objective viewpoint from a skilled decorator. She has a wonderful creative eye and offered several interesting and thought-provoking suggestions to enhance our decor. We're excited now to move forward in adding color!

Felicia was approachable and has a great eye for where to place things. I spent no money on new things for the house, and now it looks amazing. She even tackled the "new restaurant" noise in the kitchen. When all the surfaces are wood and granite, the sound has no where to land. By hanging a large canvas on the wall and putting down some area rugs, it should be quieter. I would have never thought of that. I cannot wait until the snow melts to have her back to help with the yard. I would recommend her to everyone, very easy to work with and professional.
