MAYNARD DOOR AND WINDOW

The end result was fine---the windows look and function as expected. However, it took six months from initial inquiry to window installation. While the initial consultation was scheduled quickly enough and was very, very pleasant, everything else dragged on. Quotes took forever, people rarely replied to phone calls without several attempts, and we often had to physically go to the storefront to find a human. We thought by calling in mid-summer that we'd have our windows in by the time we turned on our heat, but they didn't go in until mid-January. (They also installed windows different from the ones we'd agreed on, a negative surprise for which they compensated us with a free window.) The workers were not particularly tidy in their work. They left behind mess in our flower beds, driveway, and home. We found a broken plug in an electrical outlet and sharp objects under the tires of our cars. However, given how long it had taken to even get the windows installed, we weren't inclined to ask the company to rectify the mess---we thought that'd just be another exercise in frustration. This ranks up there among the most frustrating contractor experiences we've had as homeowners. We were very surprised given the overall excellent reviews the company had received.

My experience with them was good. He was really good. He came to the house, measured, and offered us different options for doors at different price points. The installation went really, really smoothly.

Earlier I had had my chimney flashed by another company, and in that case I received the estimate the same day, and within 48 hours the work was completed. Fast forward to Maynard Door and Window, I didn't even get the quote for well over a week, and the estimate was multiple times those of offers I had received from other roofing companies. I had even informed the person who came to give the estimate of these other quotes. Needless to say, if I'm going to have my skylights fixed, I would prefer to do it without breaking the bank. To top it off, my chimney flashing came with a 10 year warranty, these people offered me only a 1-year warranty on roof work. Thanks, but I think I'll pass on this company.

I used them because they were local and because they use only high quality vendors for their materials. Their reputation is impeccable. The guys were a pleasure to have in the house; they worked in here for two-and-a-half months. They cleaned up every day and became part of the family over the summer.

It went well. Workers were very professional. We did not get an estimate on 2nd part of the job and were surprised at cost but all in all, they did a good job.

We did not use Maynard Door and Window because we decided not to do the project at all. I would consider them if we went ahead with the project.

Over-all install went very well and was well done.

I first phoned and easily made an appointment for the owner of the business to come to our house and give us an estimate for all parts and labor. We received the estimate in only a few days and the price was more than competitive. On the appointed day, the team of installers plus the owner arrived right on time. Over the course of the installation, they were careful friendly and professional. They certainly knew what they were doing and the new sliders just glide over the track.

I contacted them to get an estimate for installation of a storm door. They were very professional on the phone, but it took forever to get the estimate. Then I asked how much extra it would cost to get a different unit. They said they'd get back to me, but never did, despite a few reminders. The sense I got was that this was too small a project for them to be bothered with, but I wish they would have told me that up front, so I did not lose the entire summer without being able to have a screen door.

I called Maynard Door and Window because the slider lock was actually falling off and Steve came out immediately to take care of it. My front storm and screen door was worn on the bottom and Steve replaced the bottom and did a great job on both. Steve is very pleasant and came out right away as he was concerned about the door not locking.

Excellent. This was the third job that I had them perform, and all work has been done in a timely, high quality fashion. Previous work (2008) included some small carpentry that had to be done to accommodate new windows; their carpenter does good work with attention to detail. They are a pleasure to work with and leave the work site clean and good order. One minor complaint: I had some custom-made cellular blinds on the old windows, and expressed the desire that these still would work with new windows. Well... they do, but the new windows are slightly wider, so the blinds look a bit odd. I would have gone ahead with the work anyway, but it would have been nice to be clear that the new windows were a few inches wider.

Steve came out to take a look at the two doors that were not working properly. I had a sliding door that I thought I needed to replace. Instead he worked on the door and now it is like new again. He saved me a lot of money when he could have told me it needed replacing. Steve did tell us to replace our basement door as the wrong door was installed there. It was someone else who did the work, not Steve. He did a good job but I felt the door needed some adjusting. I called Steve and that same morning he came out to adjust the door. It now looks great!

The installation went very well. The installer was very careful and did an excellent job on all elements of the job. I was very impressed with the quality of the materials used and the care applied in installing kickboard, flashing, trim, etc. The work was efficient and right the first time. In terms of price, they were competitive with other quotes, but used much better quality materials. I feel I got very good value for the dollar, and would use Maynard Door & Window again without hesitation.

Maynard Door and Window did an outstanding job. They know the RIGHT way to do a job - and are excellent craftsmen. If you've ever seen Holmes on Homes (an HGTV show where bad construction is made right), you'll appreciate the skill and "do it right" approach taken by Stephen Hebert and Maynard Door and Window. They are thoroughly professional, wonderful to work with and their pricing is very reasonable. I highly recommend Maynard Door and Window.

Crew arrived on time, worked streadily through the day and cleaned up in the evening.

They were very busy and did the quote over the phone and could not send out anyone for approximately two weeks. They were very responsive and professional. Their service did not meet my needs at the time that is the only reason I did not use their services.

I contacted Maynard Door and Window about replacing over a dozen windows in my home, not a small job. After a good initial discussion and consultation in my home they never got back to me. After repeated e-mails and calls to their shop I finally gave up in frustration as it seemed they did not want my business. Great start, TERRIBLE follow through.

Not reviewing the actual sales or installation process, as we never got that far. Looking for a replacement front entry door--new door, sidelights, frame--the works. I know that this can range widely in price depending on materials, design and brand. Had driven by and seen the ads for Maynard Door and Window a few times and wanted to see what they had and give them a shot. Naturally, I had careful measurements of everything.So, we walk in and are politely greeted. "We'd like to replace our entry door and would like to see our options in terms of styles, brands and price" "OK, we can show you some catalogues, but pricing depends on size, brand and options" "Yes, I know, but we'd like to get a general sense of the price range. I know that final pricing will depend on all of that." "We can't discuss pricing until we measure" "No problem, I have all the measurements" "No, we need to measure ourselves" "OK, sure, but I just want to get a general sense of price" "Sorry, we don't do that" "OK, we'll buy somewhere else" And, so, we bought buying somewhere else (Concord Lumber, just up the road) where they were happy to go through the different models and give baseline pricing--and, of course, final pricing was dependent on the options we chose. So, maybe Maynard Door and Window has great prices and does great work, but, after this experience, we weren't willing to give them a try. In my experience, a place that can't discuss ballpark pricing based on a few questions and assumptions is suspect. Too bad, as we'll need new windows next.

My storm door was broken by my landscaper. so they ask me to call this company to have fix. Once I call, they took care of the rest.Great customer service. Quality work.

Steve, the owner, came to my house to look over the project in order to give me a quote. He was polite, friendly, professional and considerate. We were having four sliding doors replaced which meant that the entire wall of our house would be open. Steve was thoughtful enough to ask if we had pets so that we could put them somewhere safe during the door replacement. The actual work went quickly. The workmen were without any exception, friendly and courteous, readily answering any questions that I had. Steve came on the first day of work to get the men started and then again the day after they were done to make minor adjustments. He wanted to make sure that my experience was an excellent one -- and it was! I recommend Maynard Door and Window without any hesitation. Their work is reasonably priced and is of the highest quality.

Phenomenal. We contacted Maynard Door and Window In late March to have an estimate to replace an old patio door that was rotting on the outside, was weathered and drafty. Sean came out on March 23rd to inspect the old door, take measurements and offered his advice as to what type of door to go with, etc. We had originally thought of a Harvey slider with the grids to match our Harvey windows but after talking with Sean and going over the pros and cons of both Harvey and Andersen we decided to go with the Anderse Permashield slider sans grids. We also went with the white hardware. On March 28th I called Maynard to schedule the work to be done and surprising it was booked for April 8th. We had expected a few which would have been OK but when they came back with the 8th we were excited. We realize this is just a patio door but you have no idea how long we wanted to zonk this door, which we came to find out was installed incorrectly by the previous owner of the house ? UPSIDE DOWN!. On the 8th, two members of Sean?s crew came out around 8am and they prep?d the area. They put tarps down on the floor, etc. and then went to work. They remove the old door, noticing it was upside down and that no insulation was around the door, hence the reason it was drafty and proceeded to install the new door. Along the way they asked questions about how I wanted the door trim, if I wanted it to match not only the inside of the house but also outside of the house. They really did an exceptional job and it looks awesome. The outside frame is a spot on match with my window frames outside. The inside frame matches the doors and windows inside the house. The slider makes a huge difference in our kitchen and we cannot keep the door open with the screen to get a new breeze. I cannot say enough about the work and craftsmanship Maynard did. The two workers were awesome, friendly and courteous. You could tell they take great pride in their work. They were detail oriented and made sure it was correct. When it was all said in done, apart from the new door you would never know they were there as the place was as clean as when they arrived. My only regret is that I had not know of Maynard when we had our front windows replaced 4 years ago otherwise we would have reached out to them. But we still have a front door that may need replacing down the road and maybe some back windows so we?ll be sure to reach out to them. Anyone looking to replace a patio door I highly recommend Maynard Door & Window.

Work was done as scheduled, quickly, professionally and properly for a reasonable price. We are pleased with the result.

When replacing the skylights, they discovered some problems with the surrounding roof. They replaced the rotted area (without charge). It took a lot longer to do the install. In the end, the job was very professionally done. They came back and did the install on the solar tunnel - excellent job! We highly recommend this company!

They are very, very good. They did an excellent job replacing broken windows. They didn?t charge me the second time. He said it is covered under warranty. The second window broke because of a defect in his opinion. He worked for me by going back to the manufacturer to get it replaced under warranty.
