Set up an appointment for an initial 10 minute phone call to talk about what we wanted. Tom ended up spending 25 minutes with us and answered a ton of questions. We subsequently set up an appointment for an initial pre-build inspection of the foundation, framing, roof, and windows. Tom was very thorough. He obviously knew his stuff. Pointed out several items that needed addressing before the insulation and walls went up. Couldn’t be happier with the amount of time he spent, how thorough he was and how much he listened to all my stupid questions and answered them in a language that I could understand. We will have him back before the next phase starts and probably a couple more times before we close. Anyone building a house or buying a new home would be wise to hire Tom. Great piece of mind and cheap insurance. Plus, he’s a really nice guy to boot.

Tom did an excellent job inspecting a home we are purchasing in Middleborough, MA. This is the second time that we hired Thomas. He is an extremely well qualified home inspector with a lot of experience. He's seen everything in his career as a home inspector. He was extremely thorough, noting every detail, and prioritizing the items that required attention. No stone was left unturned. He fully explained everything in layman's terms. Tom produced the inspection report quickly, without introducing any delay in the purchase of our home.

I was very lucky to hire Tom to inspect the house I was interested in. We had to get the house inspected very promptly and, fortunately, Tom had an opening for us within 48 hours, on a Saturday afternoon. We found Tom very knowledgeable (you can't beat 40 years of experience in this business!) He treated the house as if he was the buyer, so he made sure to address every potential issue. Tom also gave us great recommendations on how to make the house more energy efficient. He was very professional and pleasant to talk to. The inspection report arrived within 24 hours. Thomas from Clayton Home Inspection was thorough, professional, and personable. I did not continue with the purchase of the home after the inspection due to an array of issues that were uncovered during the inspection. Thomas was fantastic. This was our very first home inspection. My husband and I went with our realtor and met him at the property. We got there a few minutes early and he was already there! Since this was our first experience we really had nothing to compare his work to. However my realtor who has seen hundreds of home inspections was blown away with how thorough of a job Thomas was doing. “This is the most thorough home inspection I have ever been to” he kept repeating! We were there for quit some time which made us feel really good. He was very meticulous, and we really felt like he was taking his time and paying attention to every detail! He got his report to us in less then 24 hours after inspection, and it was a very detailed report! He was reasonably priced compared to others we viewed online (cheaper then anyone else we had looked at, and their reviews were not all five stars. Every site where Clayton’s home inspection is at has all five stars which truly impressed us) Also he is so sociable and friendly, always asking if he could explain or answer any questions! We had to bring our kids with us which is not recommended but we had no choice, and he was so good to them! And if he was bothered he played a real good polka face because you would never know! I can honestly say if this house does not work out for us, or if we purchase again in the future I am saving Thomas’s number and using his services again for sure, no doubt! So many people are looking to make a quick buck in any business, but this guy genuinely cares! We could not have been any happier with the services we received! THANKS AGAIN THOMAS!!!

Tom was outstanding from start to finish. His calming nature gave for a comfortable environment during a stressful time. His professionalism was on point from the start. He was very thorough going through every crevice of the house inside and out. His attention to detail resulted in the discover of a severe fire hazard that needed to be addressed immediately therefore avoiding a potential tragedy. This hazard had been overlooked by everyone else that had gone through the house. He took time to give detail explanations of any issues found so you understood why it was considered an issue at all. After the experience we had with Clayton Home Inspection, there is no other inspector we would go to for a home inspection.

Tom was very professional and thorough with the inspection process. He answered all my questions and I left with great confidence that I knew exactly what I was purchasing and all the issues that I would need to take care of immediately. Thomas did an extremely thorough job of inspecting our new construction home. Even though the house was very well built he did identify some important issues whth the central air I would have never notices as well has a comprehensive punch list for the property. I immediately hired him again to review some of the work I was having done to my current home.

We chose Clayton Home Inspection because we read good reviews on Angie's List and we were not disappointed. Tom was incredibly thorough and we learned a ton about the house. Tom was friendly and enjoyable to work with but professional through and through. We've worked with other home inspectors in the area (on a different house that fell through) and we did not feel that they did as good of a job. Buying a home is such a big purchase and we wanted to know that the home we are buying is in good shape; Tom answered all of our questions and more and helped us feel confident in our decision. We called Clayton Home Inspection on a Friday needing an inspection early in the next week. They scheduled our appointment for 9 a.m. Monday morning, and we had our full, in-depth report by Tuesday afternoon. Tom was extremely thorough and knowledgeable, and explained his findings as he went through the house. If we purchase another house in the area, we will use Clayton Home Inspection again.

Inspector was extremely professional, thorough, and clearly working in my/our best interest. Took time periodically to pause during the process, ask if I had any questions, and if/when I did, his answers were clearly understandable (lamen's terms!) and delivered with objectivity and with enough information to fully satisfy concnern(s). He listed issues with the home and took pictures so I would remember what he was referring to. He explained things in great detail so I could understand the issues. He noticed some significant issues and thanks to him it saved me thousands that the current owner has to fix instead of me!

I do not even know where to begin in expressing my gratitude with Tom. I have seen my parents have awful home inspections or seen the aftermath of not having the right building inspector. Great! Tom is a true professional and he takes his time to ensure that a full inspection is executed from top to bottom. We were surprised with all the detail that went into each inspection! In fact, my wife and I later joked with each other that we've never spent so much time in a basement! You can tell that Tom takes a lot of pride in his work. We never felt like he was in a rush or was there to pass the time and collect a paycheck. We highly recommend him!
