Description of Work: The work was done very well, and i appreciated their professionalism and courtesy. The water cutoff valve is very well done, and they used metal lined connecting tubes. Excellent work, and also very nice front office to work with as well, to schedule the appointment, and ensure work to be performed. I look forward to working with Boston Standard Company in the future, for any other plumbing needs.

Description of Work: They came out during a plumbing emergency we were having. Very professional and did the right job. Would recommend them to anyone.

Description of Work: They needed to come out to diagnose a problem with a tankless water heater, then order parts and come back to fix. Although they were not optimistic that they could fix it, they did!

Description of Work: They did an inspection on our furnace. We had just bought the house and were unsure of how well the furnace was maintained in the past.

Description of Work: First visit is an overview/estimate (as planned). 2 men stayed over an hour, looked at every plumbing issue I had, gave quotes for fixing each, gave alternatives with zero pressure about how to fix each. Would use them again any time

Description of Work: I want to say I have used Boston Standard before and have been extremely pleased with them on all counts despite what seems a very costly service (though I have nothing to compare it to). They have always been responsive, punctual, and professional. This time, they apparently corrected a dripping faucet which took about 15 - 20 minutes I believe. They charged $99 for showing up and $110.31 for the repair. I don't believe they used any new parts, just cleaned out some material that was clogging up the system. They then put one of the faucet handles back going in the wrong direction and 4 or 5 days after they left, the faucet started leaking again. I guess this could happen to anyone - they seemed to understand the problem and perhaps they did and there's more involved - I can't really say. When I called to say the faucet was put back moving in the wrong direction, the person couldn't have been more responsive and scheduled for them to return. Overall, I have been very impressed with all aspects of this company. Perhaps this was just a one-time problem.

Description of Work: initial visits was to inspect the boilers in the basement. Was impressed and purchased service contract from them. So thankful we did. Last year our pipes burst in the middle of a cols spell and they were available and did a fabulous job

Description of Work: Cleaned our a/c unit and fixed a leak in the system. It went quite well and I was pleased with the professionalism and work that both contractors did.

Description of Work: Boston Standard are fantastic plumbers but if it is not an emergency I would shop around, their prices are out of sight. Replaced a hot water heater (Gas) which requires a licensed plumber since you are working with gas. I just thought that 1700.00 was a little much. I called them again for a running toilet, the kid wasn't in the door 5 mins and started telling me I should probably replace the toilet. I turned around and told him, why don't we start with replacing the items that are causing the toilet to run if that doesn't work we can look to other options. Replacing the flapper did the trick.

Description of Work: I had them install an auto water shutoff for my washing machine. Works great. Sleep better having a little extra insurance against water disaster.

Description of Work: $841 to convert the shower valves to a symmons valves- really! They over charged me so they would not have to do the job. All other estimates came in at less than $420. They told me they charge $300 an hour. But yet job would take. 4 hours, That's disgusting and thr math doesnt add up. Had I not had a Angie's voucher, the cost would not have been as much. To add to that they charged a service fee to give me a quote and would not do |the job that day . I had to make an appointment . I feel cheated , buyer be ware !!!

Description of Work: Very professional and do quality work. Seem to be a little too busy, making it difficult to schedule short turn around projects. Though I haven't had any emergency work done I don't know if they would be able to respond quickly. Charge flat rate for everything, which means you don't get extra costs for being stuck in traffic going for a part. But the flat rate fee is extremely high. On one multiple item visit - the average cost per time spent overall ended up clocking in about $300 an hour, roughly 3 times what you should spend on this kind of work. That does include parts but those parts weren't particularly expensive on their own.
