The experience has been great. They have been responsive, punctual and very thorough with their work. Initially they came to install a water heater and checked my furnace. Thanks to them, I was notified of the problem with the furnace that I had and the importance of replacing it. I have had three jobs done with them so far and have even joined their loyalty program which offers discounts on future services with them. I have absolutely no complaints for them. I strongly recommend them. The only thing is that if you call on a weekend they charge an emergency fee, so if it's something that is not urgent, wait until the weekday. Other than that, excellent!

Professional but totally over-exaggerated what needed to be done. They said my pipes valves needed changing and the meter down stairs also had to go. Got the job done without changing valves or meters at one eighth the cost. It seemed like scare tactics as I am a senior citizen. But my finances are meager and I was washing my dishes in the bathroom sink but still they could not do the job without the seven thousand dollar cost. Very unimpressed with this company!

They did a good job. They were very polite, and respectful. They also gave me helpful hints, but did not push me towards unnecessary services.

The repair person was on time, professional and did a great job explaining what he was looking at/for. He gave us his cell phone number and was completely available for us to do a follow up call.

They are fantastic. They are the best. Everything including their demeanor and their competence was very good. They are very professional, and they know what they are talking about. They are honest, straight, clean, and on time.

Scheduling and communication flawless. Professional, courteous, patient with myriad questions and concerns. Thorough inspection of all water and gas lines performed efficiently and expertly. Suggestions for short and long-term projects make it easy to prioritize budget and project list. I am appreciative of the fact that Boston Standard offers a service contract; I believe its price is well worth the peace of mind.

They were very communicative, understanding, and patient. As new homeowners, we needed EVERYTHING explained to us. They walked us through every issue and explained what needed to be fixed, why, and how. At one point we had two people working on the heater all day, running back and forth to get parts.

Overall, it went really well and I am very happy. The only "complaint" is that they didn't suggest the catch pan when they gave me the quote. They are coming to install that soon, and the office said that they should have suggested this as I am on the 3rd floor of a triple decker. That said, I will always use them when it comes to any of my heating/cooling/plumbing work. Thank you Jesse and Nick!

We had some tricky issues, but they were good overall. They were reasonable and nice individuals. I have no major concerns and would use them again.

Friendly, prompt response from front desk when booking appointment and followed up with immediate confirmation of appointment and again prior to appointment. Brad and associate were delayed in traffic and called to update time of arrival. They were professional, knowledgeable and competant. There is no question I would use this service again.

One of the residents reported to me that the circulator pump was leaking at 10:00 p.m. on 2/12. It was a small leak so waited to the morning of 2/13 to call a plumber we had used a few years ago only to be informed he no longer did emergency calls. I then consulted Angie's and got Boston Standard's name. I talked to Jeff who informed me of the extra chg. for an emergency serv. call, but rather than take chances I told to come and he was there in an hour as promised. He quickly assessed the problem and told me that because of part availability the company couldn't fix until Monday. He gave me a written estimate and explained that if we purchased a service plan costs would be less and result lower charges with future problems in the future as well as annual system inspections. Having had a similar plan when I lived in the suburbs and seeing the savings even after paying the cost of the plan I decided to choose that course. He promised that a crew would be there between 12 and 2 on 2/14. Sure enough at 5 past 12 noon Tom and his a**'t were there and they went right to work. About 2 hours later Tom came to my door and told me the new pump had been installed, but the furnace would not restart. The switching relay which turns the furnace on and off had decide to follow the circulator into plumbing heaven and he had to go back to the shop and it would take a little longer. I thought " oh! great! here's the gotcha! A big extra on the bill" but then Tom said "Of course there will be no charge because it was not in the estimate you got yesterday." I thanked him somewhat dazedly. In a little over an hour and half he was back at the door to say everything was fine and collect the balance of the bill which was $300 less than the estimate. Jeff and Tom & his a**'t (sorry I did'nt get his name) were polite and competent and a pleasure to do business with. Our building will continue to use them and I will recommend them without hesitation.

Very professional, on time, excellent work, just seemed quite expensive for replacing a couple hoses and a valve, but then I guess you get what you pay for.

The entire operation was very professional. The receptionist who answered the phone was courteous and helpful. I received an e-mail confirmation of my appointment. Joe Wood and his assistant were punctual and very polite. They have a clean, well-marked vehicle, wear uniforms, and cover their boots while in the house. During the first appointment they examined all the problems on my list and explained to me what they found. They offered multiple price options when available (such as repair vs. replacement of our very old toilet, and when we decided on replacement, different models). After looking everything over Joe went to his truck and came back with a written list of suggested work including all the prices. We set an appointment to complete the urgent work on the heating system (unusual parts were needed, so the work could not be done that day) and I said I needed to talk to my husband about the other work. Joe was very flexible about this and said I could call whenever we decided on the additional work. As it happened my husband and I decided on some of the work that evening, so I called the next day (a Saturday) and Joe was able to add the additional work to the appointment we had already made for the next Wednesday. Joe also e-mailed several links to photos of potential faucets and sinks for my powder room (again, this was on a Saturday). When they returned to complete the work everything went perfectly. Joe called in the morning with his estimated arrival time. Once I let them in, Joe and his assistant worked entirely on their own and I felt comfortable attending to my work around the house. They were so quiet, I could not believe it when I went upstairs to put some laundry away and the new toilet was fully installed. I had not even noticed them bringing it through the house. My toddler slept through the entire job. They left all of the rooms neater than they found them. They were nice to my kids. I paid the by credit card and got a printed receipt right at my kitchen counter. I really could not be more satisfied.

They did a great job. They showed up on time. There was some dirt and they cleaned up. They were in and out in two hours. They were expensive but they came on short notice. They were very good. I will definitely use them again.

They replaced the internal valve control($250 part online) and turned the water to my building off and then back on again. I had to take them down in the cellar and point out the water on/off switch because they couldnt find it. Overall they were very neat, did the job quickly and were extremely responsive when if first contacted them. I felt the $650 was a bit much for a couple hours work and a $250 part. More specifically the 170ish they charged me to turn the water to the building off and then on again bothered me. However, if you dont mind paying a little extra they are very professional and you couldnt even tell they were there, except for the shower working correctly.

They got here quickly, the price was reasonable, and they seemed to know what they were doing. I was impressed with them. They have a $130 plan that you can get which gets you a 15% discount on their services. I don?t know if the plan buys you more attention because they are already attentive. They have a woman that is always there at the phone; she is efficient and nice, and she provides very good service.

I was extremely pleased with Boston Standard Plumbing. They arrived on time, were professional, courteous and friendly. They wore booties to ensure my floor remained clean and took away the broken parts when they left. They were fast and efficient and an extremely positive experience. I would definitely recommend them to all my friends.
