We had two jobs performed during the same visit: 1) Fix a slow-draining bathroom sink, and 2) Determine the source of a leaky kitchen sink. The two guys they sent did #1 in about 3 minutes, no problem. The second job took a lot longer, but it was much more involved. They had to get a part and figure out multiple leaks, but they did it all in a professional and courteous manner. They did recommend that we buy an expensive new faucet (another contractor thought this was unnecessary, so I'm still not sure) but they didn't try to push their deal on me until I asked what it would cost, and even then they were not overly aggressive. Also, they have a receptionist, which is really very helpful when you're used to leaving messages for other contractors' that never get responded to. I would definitely use this firm again.

Great service. All taken care of in a couple of hours. Took out the old faucet, explained the problem, and went out to pick up a new one. Came right back and installed it.

We have had a sewer gas smell coming from our basement drains intermittently for about 1 year. After investigating a bit on our own, we finally decided to call a plumber. We found Boston Standard on Angie's List. Scheduling was very easy. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The plumbers were also very courteous and professional. However, they were not able to identify the source of the smell and they spent a lot of time investigating other causes (a small area of mildew near the sink, moisture in the drain pan under the AC air handler, etc.) despite my entreaties that the smell definitely comes from the drain. Having said that, the smell is only intermittent and was not present at the time of the appointment, so it's hard to blame them for not fixing the problem.

They arrived on time, performed all services efficiently, and did a fantastic job. The tech was professional, punctual, and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend them for future services.

Everything went well. At first they didn't know this was for a Big Deal offer so there was some confusion regarding a service fee. Found out that on this deal there was a service fee that would need to be paid on arrival for the service ($29.00). The service itself went really well. I had a leaking faucet outside and they explained everything that would be involved with the different options they gave me. They worked quickly, professionally and cleanly. I haven't had any problems since.

Arrived on time. Very professional. Clear communication on the work they were doing and explanation of charges. Would definitely use them again.

The price was reasonable, but we were told to pick up it. Although Angie's list showed 51 Park St, Boston as their address, their office was not located in Boston. I remember it was Dochester. If I had known their office is located outside of Boston, I would not have purchased bio clean. Driving down to their office was time consuming and painful.

This was an emergency call. The company was quick to respond and very courteous. He said approximately when he'd show up and he showed up on time. The radiator had been removed previously and was shut off but the seal was not complete and then then radiator system became flooded with water and completely broke the seal, which flooded my bathroom until I was able to shut off the main water supply. So, when he showed up he capped the radiator pipe and replaced a vent on another radiator. The only down side was that he could not replace the radiator valve because he did not have the part, which means we need to find another time to have someone come back; clearly inconvenient. I also asked him a few other questions and he answered them. Overall, he even took the time to explain to me what he was doing and what I should do and why; which is definitely appreciated.

These guys were great! I got a call to say they were on the way, and they arrived right on time, introduced themselves and set right to work. Brad explained everything they were here to do and advised along the way if he came across a problem or situation that needed my attention. They advised that I was using a higher quality (and more expensive) filter than necessary but seemed pleased at my proactive care of my HVAC system, so that left me with the warm fuzzies without turning on the heat!

They didn't solve the problem, but told me who could.

It went very well. He explained everything he reviewed and why it might or might not need addressing at some point.

Tom and his apprentice showed up on time.. .and were extremely polite and professional. I had recently purchased and moved into a townhouse, and had no idea what the state of the furnace was... nor how it worked etc. For peace of mind, I purchased this service just to get an idea if the heating system was good to go for the upcoming season etc. Tom was great, and since I had some extra time, he made a special effort to show his apprentice everything in great detail, and in turn I had an impromptu lesson too! Tom is very knowledgeable... and I would happily have him back for any other plumbing or heating work that I may need.

I bought a coupon on Angie's List "$99 for $200 of work". Called for an appointment, scheduled for 12-2. Tom showed up exactly at 12. He looked at the toilet, adjusted the water level in the tank, and it flushes much better. He looked at the tub, warned that using the snake might damage the pipes causing many more problems, and provided us with an enzyme treatment that should help the drain. He then replaced the aerator in the kitchen sink and looked into problems with the hose attachment. This all came to only $95, so he said they would give us the balance of the coupon for any future work. Tom was very professional, worked quickly, and explained everything he did.

I had him unclog a drain. He was punctual and courteous. He did the job well. He really cleaned up after the work was done, too, which I appreciated. He even put on boot covers to protect my floors--he really went the extra mile!

They were out here within a couple of days of my calling for an appt. Good follow-up, confirmed service time/date, showed up on time (2 men), put protective covers on their shoes, and went thru my concerns one by one in a very thorough manner. Very helpful, turned out that the system had been recently cleaned, so not much cleaning needed. But it was very reassuring to know the system is in good working order. I asked for estimates on 3-4 other plumbing tasks, and they gave me a written estimate on the spot. Estimates seemed pricey, so I'll get several estimates to compare. Felt confident that they would do a very good job on any further work. Also explained the longer-term service contract options, and they priced the estimates to include related discounts. No pressure, "just the facts". Also explained what they would do for central AC service in the Spring. They patiently answered my questions and helped me understand which maintenance items I could do myself. Very impressed. They left me with considerable knowledge of our new heating/AC system, and with a mind put at ease.

There was a bit of confusion about the timing of our appointment -- we scheduled on the phone, but the day before the appointment we received a voice mail saying that they had to cancel, then received a second phone call that the appointment would be ok. They showed up on time on the day of our appointment. Due to the age of our water heater, they recommended that we not flush the hot water heater because any sediment at the bottom of the tank could be sealing little cracks. They gave us a pretty hard sell on purchasing a new hot water heater, which we elected not to do at the time. They diagnosed a leaky kitchen faucet and told us that it had cracked and needed to be replaced. We scheduled a time for them to return the following week and to install a new faucet that we had purchased. They were on time and cleaned up after themselves. Their prices seemed a bit high, but they did quality work.

They ordered a new toilet and when it came in came back to install the new toilet they were again on time very professional job was done great and everything is wonderful. Just not happy with the height of the new toilet but too late to change that, wish they gave more detail on that instead of saying it was ADA certified height, the one they replaced was higher. When I questioned it they said well maybe the brand we use is lower, which is why I was trying to get details on it before hand. But the toilet works great! But overall they were wonderful, I would use them again and recommend them. I bought the service plan I was so pleased with their work!

The pice was fantastic, but didn't include shipping. I never go to Dorchester and ended up having it mailed. I could have gotten the same price with shipping from a lot of other places. Customer service was very responsive and helpful.

Mark from Boston Standard Plumbing came on time after calling. He was professional and very knowledgable and helpful. Since we moved into our new home 2 months ago, we have had numerous workers come in and out. He was the first to spontaneously place shoe covers on and off each time he went in or out of the house. He taught me a lot about plumbing as he worked and inspected. He helped me with a dryer duct free of charge. The repairs I needed were more costly than I had expected, and there was no pressure to fix non-pressing or non-emergent items. But along the way he would point out things I should know about the new house and plumbing services. I would use them in the future for more critical and important jobs. But for smaller things like clogged drains -- they are just too expensive.

They worked very hard and they were clean and neat. I can't say enough good things about them. They were wonderful. They used excellent materials and they were very curteous.

We were very happy with them. They were very knowledgeable about the kind of system we had which was unusual because it is an old system. They were very willing to explain which we appreciated. The price was a little high in general. We would definitely use them again.
