David's craftsmanship and attention to every detail of this project was exceptional. He was able to foresee and suggest certain features that made the cabinets more functional. He gave me everything I wanted and more. The wall of floating shelves are beautifully made and carefully installed. The drawers glide and the trim work is flawless. Dovetail is now working on building an outdoor shower for me. I showed David an example of one I saw online and he found a way to duplicate it using stock lumber. He is very knowledgeable about outdoor shower features and the extra touches that will make it a pleasure to use. David Smith has also done general handyman and carpentry tasks such as hanging bathroom hardware, assembling a headboard and hanging mirrors. He stays in contact with his clients and is always responsive and pleasant to be around.

David was very easy to deal with and provided a variety of options. He was knowledgeable, skilled, careful, and performed the work at estimated cost and time frame. Would definitely use again.

When I originally called, Mr. Smith was on vacation, but promised to call upon his return, which he did. Explained everything thoroughly, suggested that I increase the scope of the original work to include 4 more stair treads and still came in as the middle bid. He was able to complete the job within 10 days, which was a nice bonus. Very happy with the work and would hire again in a heartbeat!

We've all heard "this guy can do anything," right? Well, let me tell you about David Smith -- this guy can do anything. Maybe one of the last old school craftsmen, I've watched him literally hand carve intricate pieces of molding for the mantel and crown molding. Initially, I wondered why he had no assistant, but it became immediately clear. He could never train anyone to keep up to the quality of his workmanship. We asked David of Dovetail to install crown molding in almost every room of our house. He is very detailed oriented, measures and cuts precisely, and the end result is a fantastic job. We then asked David to design a new mantle for our living room fireplace. After discussing the design options with us in person, over the phone, and via email, David built us a beautiful mantle while we were out of town. We highly recommend David and Dovetail.
