Andrei went right to work without hesitation. The job was completed within a hours time. + 0 moreAndrei and his crew did an excellent job under significant time pressure as a severe cold front was approaching. They removed a defective roof (improperly nailed) originally put on with no underlayment, and replaced it with appropriate underlayment and Certainteed Landmark shingles. They arrived on time, worked hard all day, and cleaned up after themselves. Andrei is always extremely responsive to phone calls and emails, never leaving you wondering what the status of the job is, or if he's going to get back to you with a quote. He subcontracted out a replacement of our rotted wooden gutters with pre-painted aluminum gutters, which was also done in a timely and professional manner. Andrei's quote for roofing was very competitive, and stands out from others due to his 15 year warranty on blow offs and lifetime warranty on labor. This was especially important to us due to the prior roof having been defective due to workmanship errors, and this roof going on during the winter when its cold and windy.
Description of Work: Re-shingle of approximately 1500 sq foot roof using Historic District approved architectural shingles, plus replacement of rotten trim, rake boards, and soffits. Gutter replacement was subcontracted through Bel Islands as well.

Description of Work: We were told shingles had blown off, and we knew we couldn’t put off replacing our roof. I went on Angie’s list and was impressed by the positive comments about Andrei. I iknew I made the right choice, as Andrei agreed to drive to our house immediately, and he sent a detailed estimate. Two days later, he started the job and texted photos of all the work he and his crew were doing. They finished the job in two days, right before more bad weather.

+ -1 moreAndrei was prompt in responding to our inquiry for replacing our roof, helpful in guiding us through a selection of roof tiles and in presenting a proposal. He and his crew started the job when planned and actually finished ahead of schedule. They were very careful to protect our foundation plantings, and cleaned up at the end of each day. At the end of the job they did an absolutely fantastic job of cleanup, sweeping, raking the yard where they had worked and in picking up stray roofing nails. Andrei inspected the work and was careful to ensure that the chimney and all standpipes were properly sealed. I do not hesitate to recommend him, and I expect to call upon him in the future for other home improvement jobs as needed.

A number of documents were provided with the estimate including a copy of the liability insurance policy. They began the work on the date promised and I am very impressed with the quality of the work. Andrei texted me pictures of the work along the way as I don't live on the Cape. Bel Island is a reliable company and the quality of work was excellent. I found Bel Island on Angie's list and grateful for the recommendations provided by other customers. Bel Island did not disappoint and my experience was consistent with others - very impressed with the company. Andrei provided very good advice in response to my ideas and I'm very appreciate of his experience and expertise.
Description of Work: Bel Island replaced the roof, cedar shingles, front and back door, steps to the deck and demolished a structure that housed the hot water heater in the back of the house.

They are well-connected with other local trade specialists and were able to provide recommendations and make connections for us for some remodeling/replumbing we want to do. All in all, this was a very pleasant experience and we are very pleased with the results. As I said, we will definitely be using Bel Island's services again in the near future.
Description of Work: Based on our recent experience [July 2017] , we highly recommend Bel Island Home Improvement's roofing and shingle-siding services without reservation, and expect to use them again in the near future. Bel Island wasn't the first company we contacted as we had other service providers recommended by friends in the area [we just moved here in summer of 2016], but I saw their high-rating Angies List posting and decided to call them as well. They were by far the most responsive! Our house is a good-sized Cape with a large addition—asbestos shingled roofing and cedar shingled sides. Based on input from our home inspection, we wanted to replace/update the main roof [not the newer addition] and to reshingle two of the most-weathered sides. Bel Island reviewed the work closely, suggested some additional work which was sensible to do at the same time, identified some work which really wasn't needed, and provided a very competitive quote on the work, with a provision to address additional problems [if needed] at a reasonable hourly rate. We chose to sign with them because their price was attractive, and they struck us as competent/pragmatic [and sensitive to our budget], and were good responsive communicators. They were able to pull our permits and fit us into their schedule within a couple weeks of our telling them we'd like to proceed.

+ -1 moreAndre and his crew were punctual, thorough, efficient and courteous. i was concerned about cleanup, but Andre assured me all would be well and it was. My shrubs, plants, etc. were covered at all times and they took great care with my property. Andre always returned my calls and although we had the permit (which he obtained for us) in December 2016 , the work had to be delayed because of the wet winter and spring. As soon as a long stretch of clear weather was in the offing, Andre contacted me, we set a date, and the job was completed in a matter of days. I would recommend his services to everyone and would use him again in the future if I had a project.
Description of Work: Removed wooden roof shingles from a 2200 ft. custom built cape and replaced them with asphalt shingles.

+ -1 moreHe called the next day, to give me a heads up. I wasn't home but my daughter showed him the leak. He repaired it on the spot ( holes in a five year old roof caused by inexperienced painters). Andrei saved the day with his incredible response time and workmanship, which took a stressful situation due to more rain coming and made it disappear.
Description of Work: Found mold in a crawl space on second floor and noticed it was caused by roof leaking. A few days later we had some bad rain and you could actually see it dripping. We found Andrei on Angie's List and gave him a call at 9:30 that night. I was surprised when he answered and after explaining what was going on with leak was even more surprised that he was going to make it out the next day to inspect it.
