He paints our house the first time about 8 years ago and we were quite pleased. When it was time to paint again we contacted Rick. Price was reasonable and it was all down hill from there. Started 2 months late. Only had two workers. One was with him for a while and the other was brand new. Prep was awful as was the paint job. He was unprofessional and never came back to make it right. Those were his words. 2 years later still waiting. Never returned our many calls. Sta far far away from him and his company. Garbage.

Richard complained incessantly about the size of the job from the start. We did not "add on" additional work throughout the project and he was well-informed of the work we were requesting. The home was under renovation and he knew this entering into the partnership...we had a plaster in the home as well as a flooring company but they insisted they were not in Richard's way. However, he became angry and frustrated easily by their presence and made comments daily. Richard worked on the project for 5 weeks and in that last week, he asked that I pay him the remaining balance even though the project was not yet complete (I understand now this was a mistake on my end). The incomplete work included: - Carpenter to come to the house and put the kitchen cabinet doors back on & adjust each (this was included in the price) - Carpenter to add the new hardware to the kitchen cabinets (this was also included in the price) - Carpenter to shave the room doors that has swelled after painting (Richard told us this would have to be done at our expense but that his carpenter would complete the work for $25/hour - we agreed to pay and to have him come to the house but he never did show) - Richard and his painters to return all knobs and hinges to their original doors Both my husband and I tried to reach Richard in this last week, unsuccessfully, to schedule for his return to complete the work. On the day I finally got a hold of him and he answered my call and I asked him to return to put the hinges and knobs on the door and he refused, saying that were around the house somewhere and that we could do it ourselves. I thought this was laughable. I had paid him for a service he was not willing to complete and his answer to me was, "Your hinges were worth a nickle when I started this project, I'll give you a buck for them". I became incredibly frustrated but not surprised by his response because it was obvious from the start he did not like working with a woman and answering to me. He was much more responsive towards my husband. During this phone call, I told him how disappointed I was the carpenter had not come back to complete the kitchen cabinets and he began sharing personal information about the carpenter that I did not need to hear, nor wanted to hear, as to why he wasn't showing up or making any effort to complete the work I had paid for. To put it lightly, this phone call was extremely frustrating and he knew I was growing angry. He ended our call by screaming obscenities into the phone and finally hanging up on me. In the end, we had paid another carpenter to complete all of the work and that created an additional out-of-pocket expense, obviously. Our requests of him were reasonable, and within the limits of what we had paid for. In working with contractors who treat their customers like this, I am amazed to see that they are still in business. Hopefully, this will shed light on his work and his professionalism...
Description of Work: Richard's initial estimate seemed fair and we asked that he paint the house's entire interior trim as well as the kitchen cabinets. The work he and his painters performed was good, the paint job was precise and the cabinets looked good in the end. However, the work was never done to completion and therefore I rated the quality "bad" in the above rating system. His behavior, violent temper, and total disrespect for women lead me to this report in order to ensure other customers understand what they are getting themselves into.
