He arrived quickly, saw the problem and fixed it all within about 30 minutes. I was cooking dinner for 20 people and was very happy for the fast service and quick problem solving.

Our kitchen sink was clogged the week before Christmas and we contacted the plumber that we normally used however he was unable to help. He gave us the number to reach Roto-Rooter and they came out to our house within 2 hours of the initial call on a Saturday. The technician, Dan Denya, was extremely polite and courteous. He explained everything he was doing and was able to unclog the drain. He also provided advice on how to avoid this happening again in the future.

Final costs within initial estimate provided. No complaints and will use them again. I have used them in the past for emergency repairs of frozen pipes and each time I walk away satisfied.

We had a major backup in our basement and needed a plumber quickly late night on a Monday. My usual go-to plumber couldn't make it until Tuesday morning but the problem couldn't wait- we needed the drain cleared fast as water was backing up into our basement bathroom tub and toilet (not fun). I called Roto-Router given that we needed someone to come on a 24/7 basis. The setup of the appointment was quick. Originally my window was 8:15-10:15 but the plumber didn't get there until about 11:15 (but someone gave us hourly updates so we weren't kept waiting without word). Peter, the technician, went right to work and explained my options and common problems. He took care of things relatively quickly and make sure that the drains were working smoothly. Given the problem, I don't think the price is bad at all- potentially saved a LOT more by having it done right then and there as opposed to sweating it out through the night and having major backup issues in the morning. Honestly very impressed with the service!

Water from the upstairs bathroom was coming up in the tub in a bathroom below it in our house in Dedham. Roto-Rooter was able to schedule a technician to come the same day. They were very good about contacting me to let me know they were busy with another call but would let me know within 30 minutes of their arrival. Roy arrived on time, thoroughly evaluated the problem, gave me the estimate and recommendations and promptly did the work. I was very satisfied with the quality of the work, the professionalism of Roy and the scheduler of the appointment. Roy was efficient, pleasant and very helpful. I would definitely use them again. They allowed me to use a $40 coupon I had found on their website to apply against the $399. bill. The work is guaranteed for six months. I was very happy with my experience with Roto-Rooter.

From the initial phone call to set up someone until the plumber left my house, it was about three hours. Outstanding service, competent staff, and I'm assuming a reasonable price for a Sunday-The day when all major plumbing disasters strike!

the service person came looked at the kitchen drain pipe and hoped that just repairing the drain pipe would fix the issue. Once the drain was repaired it was clear that there was also a clog, so he had to unclog the pipe. He was friendly and courteous.

Water backed up from the pipe in the basement where the hose to the washing machine was connected. Plumber snaked the line from the clean out under the kitchen sink and cleared the clog. The plumber was polite, courteous and professional. I would definitely use his services again.

Had to replace my sewer pipe just before it leaves the house and cleaned up the river of poop and made everything smell nice. The second time they came he had to snake the pipe again and said not to use those moistened wipes because they don't disintegrate and to use one ply toilet paper.

It was a dark when Stephen H. arrived at my Chelmsford slab-foundation home. Since I did not know if/where there was a sewage line cleaning point around my slab house, Stephen turned off the water, lifted the toilet off, inspected the toilet entrance to the house sewage drain. He then proceeded to snake the line. Since there was a plumbing "Y" turn near the toilet, it was a difficult job. Pulled out some roots with the snake. Got some better flow to the line, but recommended getting a sewage line cleaning point installed (big $$$) near the house to help clear up the problem. He made some other suggestions to keep roots away from the line, as well and kill the ones on my stumps outside. Since I just bought the house recently, I asked him to show me the water turn-off points if he could (he did) for the house and the outdoor spigots attached to the house. I also asked him about the toilet that rocks just a tiny bit in my upstairs bathroom. Since it didn't leak, and I didn't want the wax seal to break, I put some plastic shims in the front to stop the rocking. He looked at the issue, agreed with my approach, and gave me simple instructions on how to fix it in a professional-looking way that won't cause problems in the future if any plumbing repairs were necessary - and also happened to have some material he recommended for the job in his truck - which he gave me - to do it! He then went out front and started poking around in the dirt a bit in the dark and actually found the nefarious sewage cleaning point me and my Mom have been wondering about since I first made an offer on the place and proceeded to dig out clumps of dirt & weeds out of it. I did the Happy Dance when I realized that I did not need the shell out big $$$ to put one in. This also allowed Stephen to do the job in one visit and not have to come back, rip out the toilet again, and re-root my plumbing again very soon, which is what I was facing with only the toilet as the access point, since the roots were very difficult to clean all out from there. He re-rooted the line from there, sent a camera up the line to make sure everything was clear, replaced the old loose cap of the cleaning access point (where the weeds had been entering my line, which was apparently the cause of the partial blockage problem) with a new one and re-capped the top of thing. My plumbing flows very smoothly now and the suds stay in the washer, where they belong. While I gave them a "B" on the price, as it was a bit on the expensive side, it was WELL WORTH the money

When I moved into my house 15 years ago, the Septic System was new and I never gave things a second thought. Out of sight, out of mind, right? Until last week when sewage started spewing out of my shower and all of my drains were non-functioning. I had the tank pumped, thinking that was the problem, but there was more to it. I contacted Roto-Rooter based on their web-site which said service was available 24-7 with no extra charge for weekends or holidays. Late Saturday evening, I called a 1-800 number and the kind woman I spoke with took my name and said that someone would be out to my house first thing Sunday morning, between 8:00 and 10:00. Sure enough, Damien arrived bright and early (and I live a long way out from Springfield). I explained the problem to him, thinking that because the tanked hadn't been pumped in so long there might be a clog remaining in the pipes. He started with that premise and spent a good 45 minutes carefully sending a motorized metal snake up through my pipes - to no avail. Sewage remained in the shower and all drains were blocked. He then sent a video camera through the pipes to try and troubleshoot the problem.We watched together as the camera snaked through the pipe and stopped - at an obvious break in the pipe. Problem solved. He used a type of sonar device to locate the general area of the break, marked it and told me that he and a crew would be back the next morning. The next day, right on time, Damian, Tony and Sergey arrived. When they excavated the drain pipe it became clear that someone had previously done a really bad job on a repair. A twenty-three foot length of pipe was completely shattered and degraded; over the years, waste had slowing been draining into the soil until the pipe finally gave way. Someone prior to me had purchased 3" pvc from Home Depot in an effort to fix a problem cheaply. Damian, Tony And Sergey replaced the drainage pipe with professional grade, guaranteed-for-life material, leading from the house to the septic tank. They also installed a clean-out close to the house so that if a clog occurred, there wouldn't be a need to dig up the covering to the septic tank. The price of $2,300 was sobering, but so is living without a functioning toilet! These three men worked all day to do the job right and correct a problem that had been affecting me and the environment. I would absolutely recommend Roto-Rooter at 87 Carando Drive in Springfield, MA for any plumbing work. Damian, Tony and Sergey were prompt, responsive to my problem and very polite and kind.

He arrived promptly, was personable and reassuring, explained each step of his process, and made sure we understood how to utilize the Root Destroyer product we purchased to maintain a clog-free drain in the years to come.

Mike # 2388, came back after another Roto-Rooter man had come a month before to clean clogged sewer pipe. He found the clog in another area and quickly made everything alright again. He was extremely professional, friendly and courteous. He also made sure area was cleaned after he finished. We were not charged for this service since they guarantee their work .

It went well with Aaron & Al (Tech 477). They allayed our concerns about the clog, and were very personable and professional. The work was done and they were exceptionally careful and neat. I believe they work out of the Worcester office.

The sewage line started leaking and backing up on a Wednesday. We had a plumber clean the line, but by Sunday the line started leaking again. On Monday, I went online and set up an appointment for Wednesday morning. The online process was simple and easy. I received confirmation of the appointment right away. On Monday night, the issue became an emergency. Therefore, on Tuesday morning (6:30am), I called Roto-Rooters. The technician was at my house by 9:30am. As expected, I received the call ahead of time advising that he was on his way. He was very courteous and explain the issue and resolution options very clearly. Once I made the decision on what method to use, he got to work. Using the camera he showed me the state of the pipe before and after the treatment. He explained the maintenance needed and long term options to fix the issues with the sewage line. I am very happy with the service. Next time, I will not waste time and money with others, I will call Roto-Rooters right away.

The service from them is always great. I have used them in the past prior to joining Angie's List so I didn't hesitate to call them. They are reliable and quick. They get out there quickly on my schedule. They do what I need them to do. The only thing is paying $230 to fix my toilet. They do the job right. I didn't compare their prices. I didn't call other plumbers. I would absolutely use them again.

Tried calling a few local plumbers first but none could get to the house for a week. Roto Rooter came on time and called ahead and were professional upon arrival. Big problem is that they do not qoute a price until they get there. The price of $400 was way too high but had to accept because we needed our sink and I had already taken half the day off of work for them to come. The technician took 10 minutes to unclog our kitchen which had a clog 15feet down below which we would of never been able to do ourselves. All though I could of said no their obvious ploy is to gauge you on arrival where they know they have you. Would of expected price to be half as much considering it took them longer to write my receipt up than it was to unclog the drain.

I called a local plumber (this was a Wednesday) and they could not come out until the following Monday! I remembered the Roto Rooter truck in my neighbor's driveway a few days earlier and decided to give them a call. The call center was very friendly and helpful. They took my info and scheduled an appointment for that morning. I received a call from them about 90 minutes before the scheduled appointment saying they were running a bit and would likely be 30 minutes latter than planned. About 15 minutes before they arrived, I got a call from the office that the plumber was on his way to my home. Within a short time the plumber (Mike) showed up. We talked over the work and the estimated cost to repair. We agreed on a price. Dave worked a while retrieving the bit of broken stopper from the trap but managed to get it out. He then snaked the drain. It was a solid clog and required a bit more work than usual. He finished then we checked the basement for any leaks as a result of the work. All was well. Mike left the bathroom re-assembled and clean. The entire experience from call center through job completion was very professional and friendly. The price was competitive to other work I've had done over the years. I'd certainly use these guys again and recommend them to friends and family.

Matt showed up promptly, was professional in all respects, was friendly and helpful and very courteous; he cleaned up after the service was performed in a very thorough manner. We hope to not need the service again but if we do Matt is our go to guy

From the initial call, I was pleased with the service. The woman who took my call was knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. She let me know that the technician would arrive by 11 a.m. at the latest, and John arrived by 10:30. He looked at the sink, the pipes immediately under the sink, and the pipes in the basement that lead from the sink. He gave me the estimate for the work up front and let me know that if he was able to complete the job easily and quickly, it would be eligible for a discount. He cleaned out the obvious clog, then snaked through the pipes below the clog to ensure that there was not additional blockage further along. Before he was done, he filled up the sink again and tested that the water drained completely and quickly. He then tested our garbage disposal with ice and gave us some tips for maintaining the pipes and the disposal. He gave us a $40 discount from the originally quoted price and included a bottle of enzyme cleaner to help maintain the pipes in the future. We had been concerned that we might not be able to get service so quickly with the holiday weekend about to start, but we were so impressed with the quick response and excellent service that we will definitely call Roto-Rooter for any future issues we have with our plumbing.

He got to my house in less than 2 hours from when I called. He was careful to make sure it was the washer drain line and not the line to the street that was clogged. He was neat, quick, knowledgeable, and careful to tell me what he was doing. Paying by credit card was not a problem.

Mike (technician 2388) first tried with the smaller of the 2 snakes, and when that didn't reach far enough, he used the 70 ft. snake. That finally did the trick. He was good about not making a mess. He explained everything as he went along and took pictures of the Roto-Rooter product I had been using, and from which I had gotten their number. He gave me a $40 discount and accepted the $10 coupon on the label of their product. When I spoke about an upstairs kitchen with a sink that flowed sluggishly, he made me a promise that if he could get the sink to flow faster, he would add $99 to the $349 he was already charging. It turned out to be a ventilation issue, so he did not charge me, but I was pleased that I could have solved a second issue for a reasonable price. Unfortunately, ventilation is not what Roto-Rooter does.
