clog was that stubborn. He worked quickly, professionally, and without any hassle for us while we waited upstairs. The price was also a flat fee, which in our case turned out to be very reasonable. The clog was difficult to clear (tree roots are a big tangled mess) but now we should be set for years to come, and their work is fully guaranteed for 12 months. We were very pleased with the customer service and would definitely call them again.

Materials were backing up in our sewer line and we needed someone to come snake our drains. One of the owners of our area called Roto Rooter to come inspect our issue; they let us know that the pipe area needed to be replaced due to the pipes rusting over and deteriorating over time. Everyone in our building was very impressed with not only the service they provided, but also the work they completed! The team that arrived were very helpful, especially Andy who was extremely hard-working, knowledgeable, and honest about the work that could be done. They knew how to handle our specific septic system perfectly and recommended many things to us. It was clear that the employees were very proud to be a part of the company. When I have personally used them in the past, they were always quick and fixed our issues promptly!

We contacted the company on Friday everning 4/17/15 to clear a clogged pipe on an urgent basis. Subsequent interaction went as follows: 1. Appointment was set to 8:30-10:30pm same day. Around 11:30pm the techinican had not arrived, and Roto Rooter could not provide a time estimate for arrival. We asked to reschedule for next morning, and the representative said we would be the first call next morning at 8am. 2. Next morning, technician had not arrived by 11am. Representantive said that he was stuck on another job, and could not give a time estimate for arrival. We asked to reschedule for evening, between 7-9pm, and were promised no later than 9:30pm arrival. 3. In the evening, we got a call saying all technicians were busy, and would not be able to arrive that evening. So to summarize, Roto Rooter made 3 separate appointments with us in the span of 24 hours, and failed to arrive to all three. The experience speaks for itself, so I'll only add this: when you disappoint a customer by missing 2 appointments in a row, you prioritize the next appointment accordingly to make sure it doesn't happen a third time. This is a commonsense approach to customer service that does not require an MBA.

This all started after a conversation with my neighbor. We moved in to our house less than a year ago and have had typical new owner problems (failing appliances, broken power outlets, simple things). Talking to our neighbor, he asked if we had our sewer line cleaned yet. I did not know what this was and he explained that given the age of our homes (90+ years), he suggested regular preventative maintenance to avoid a back up in to your basement. He said this also explaining that the sewer line backed up in to his basement several years prior. So I started searching around for what it entails and companies that could do it. That took me to Roto-Rooter via a Google search. I have heard of this company, but thought it was more of an emergency repair company. I called them up and explained what I was looking for and they said someone could be there the same day. I explained that it wasn't an emergency and they said they understood and they just tend to work quickly. OK, sounds good to me. The dispatch center kept calling me regularly to inform me of where I was on the work list for the day and when the next worker was available to head to our house. They underestimated the work time required at previous sites and were off by several hours on when the worker would arrive. Honestly, I don't view this as a problem. I would rather them take the time to do the job right than to rush through it trying to meet some arbitrary deadline. I knew that would mean they would give my job the right amount of time. The guy showed up and introduced himself and I explained all of the above. He agreed that it was a good idea to do what I was doing and proceeded to explain the process. It was relatively simple and he had everything he needed. It took about 90 minutes from start to finish, including replacing the drain clean out cap that had to be chiseled off to open up. He also answered some other general plumbing questions and explained a bit about what Roto-Rooter could also do. For future plumbing needs, I will likely call this place. They were very professional and very good about explaining the process. They made sure to not make a mess and cover things so in case there was a mess, it would not hurt anything we had. Every house is different and you might want to have an idea of your drain stack and what might be involved with a plumber call. It might be quick and easy and it might not. Roto-Rooter was really good about explaining all those variables. They also explained what they would do if they found a problem in the sewer line running to the street. All in all, good work and I work recommend them.

After cleaning up gallons of gross sink water, I placed a late night call to Roto-Rooter. It was non-emergent (as long as I didn't run water!), so we made an appointment for first thing the next morning. They were punctual, explained what was going on, gave us some options, and quickly resolved the problem. Our plumber tried to fix the pipes, but when he was not able to, was able to replace the entire line with a better system. Not only is the leak fixed, but the whole drainage system is in much better condition to prevent the same problem in the future. A little more money than we were expecting to spend, but the peace of mind is worth it.

Quick and painless, worked well with the professional equipment, it was obvious Damian was a professional. Happy to call at the last second on a Saturday and get that kind of response.

I scheduled with Roto Rooter Boston to come out at 9am on a Saturday morning. They eventually showed up at 3pm only to tell me that he couldn't do anything to help me. A call was put in to get the jet truck there. He showed up at 9pm only to tell me that he couldn't do anything to help me because a clean out had to be installed but he put the camera down there and charged me $550. A plumber was scheduled to put a clean out in the next morning. That cost $600. He told me that putting the toilet back on (the tenant took it off) would cost $550!! I declined. The jet truck was supposed to come as soon as the clean out was installed, they showed up 10 hours later. The final crew was very professional and did a nice job of getting things cleared without any mess to clean up. That cost $900. I felt like I was in a jam and they completely took advantage of the situation by charging astronomical prices.

The Person came to the house (was told it would cost $65.00) and told us that the actual fee to diagnose the problem would be $190.00. He then gave us two choices of fixing the problem one which was going to cost $500.00 and the second would be over $1000.00. This was on top of the $190.00 he already charged for coming to the house. We politely asked to leave the house and he did after leaving an invoice for $190.00 for doing nothing. We called a second company who came out and diagnosed and fixed the problem in about 1/2 hour and charged us $250.00 which I find reasonable for the job they did.

The gentleman that came was extremely professional, up front, honest, and gave me a few reasonable options. Felt the gentleman really cared about providing the best service possible and went out of his way to help!

I am not what caused it, but we tried for two days to clear a blocked toilet. Called Roto-Rooter and Mike was there within the hour to evaluate the problem. The way he engaged us was great. Seemed happy to explain any aspect of the work and fifteen minutes later, all done! I am very happy to deal with a total professional. While I hope to never need them again, if I do, Mike will get the call.

It went very well. He arrived a little after the four hour window, but we are in the middle of the snowiest February in history, so everything is running a bit behind schedule. Shion could not have been more professional in diagnosing the problem, solving it, and verifying the solution. He also gave us some good tips on how to maintain and improve our system, and did so without pressuring us to buy something.

Made an appointment online requesting service the next day. Received a phone call within the hour noting that "window" for service had been extended from 2 hours to 8 hours due to Massachusetts weather conditions. Accepted the conditions and received an email confirming appointment for 2/10/15 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Roto-Rooter tech arrived close to 4 p.m. after heads-up phone call at 2:30 p.m. (a little more than the half hour before promised arrival but okay). Tech cleaned trap of clogging materials, explained and showed what was done. Cleaned area, removed equipment, sprayed for foul odor, received payment and was out the door by 6:30 p.m.

He did unclog the toilet. He also left a path of dirt through the house from his boots, including on our bathmat which is now in the laundry. When it was time to pay, he couldn't accept payment because he had started his lunch break and the computer system wouldn't let him process it because he wasn't supposed to do jobs during his lunch time. So he sat down at our kitchen table for 10 minutes, making a pool of dirty snowmelt under his feet which he also didn't clean up. I tried calling rotorooter because it was the weekend and I wasn't sure what my plumber would cost to come out. Won't make this mistake again!

The technician, John, was very professional, wore booties to come in the house, and was overall very professional. While snaking out the drain in a tight space, our disposal became disconnected and John spent extra time to reconnect it and actually improved on the existing connection. He had to unmount the whole disposal and rewire it, but he took the time to do it correctly. I would highly recommend Roto Rooter and John.

Excellent things: the technician was friendly, informative, and worked really hard. He was especially cheerful given that it was terrible weather and Superbowl Sunday. The clog was all the way at the street junction, and he had to be persistent to get it--which he was. He quoted the price up front and the work is guaranteed for 6 months. Slightly less good: originally they gave us a 4 hour window, from 11-3, but the technician wasn't able to get here until almost 7. I can understand that the previous job may have taken longer than planned, but more information would have been helpful. I appreciate the concept of update phone calls, which they made roughly every hour and one half, but the ones we got were not very informative. They simply said the technician had encountered delays, without giving any (accurate) sense of when he might arrive.

Had our previous service call in their database. Responded to our call at 7AM. Called to confirm and dispatcher kept us informed of the technicians approx. arrival. Aaron and Al were courteous and spent a great deal of time reviewing the best way to avoid issues in the future.

They were not able to unclog from the toilet so they had to go to the shower drain in the other bathroom.. We recently renovated two bathrooms and they think there was construction dirt in the drain line. It was more expensive than I thought it would be, but the service men were great..

We had a small back-up which was causing a small puddle in our basement. I called and scheduled an appointment. They were able to come in about an hour and John began to work right away. The plumber was very professional and friendly. The problem was resolved quickly with no fuss or muss. I would use these guys again for any drain problem.

Scheduled an appointment for the next day to clear a badly clogged drain pipe in my apartment's kitchen sink. Was quoted a time between 9-11 am, and at about 10:30 I got a call saying they would be a few hours late. While it was annoying, at least they gave a call to let me know and handled it professionally. They ended up showing up around 11:30 am. The technician was professional and knowledgeable and quickly diagnosed what had to be done. They quoted a price of $415 to snake the drain and clear the pipe. While I appreciated the up front quote before the work was done, this price seemed rather excessive for the scope of work that was done. Doing a little research afterwards, this seems to be the standard rate they charge for service, but my back was against the wall and I just needed the work done, so I permitted. In the future, I wouldn't use them again. Aside from the tardiness (which actually wasn't that big of a deal and was appropriately handled on their end), I just don't see how snaking a pipe costs $415 for less than 1 hour of work and no parts. I'll likely shop around and get quotes from local plumbers next time. Also, I should have received a $40 discount for scheduling through Angie's List, the discount was never applied. I didn't realize this until afterwards when I was reviewing the bill. Lesson learned, I won't be using Roto-Rooter again.

I had ongoing problem on my main sewer line in the laundry room in the celler for 3 weeks.Finally things get worst and happend on Saturday. Well, I call roto-rooter. I call about 11am and been promise service man be at 1pm. Service man show up about 2pm , but I was called twice by customer service and was explain to me why is happening , that was nice, and I understand nature of this industry, guy was just coming from another job. When he arrived he told me in front up how much is going to cost me and what his going to do. That was Tony. He did a good job. He left work area very clean.Also he was very friendly and didnt mind to be watched and asked many questions from me, he was also explaining what he does at the moment. At last job was done and my sewer line work right now very good. But ofcourse time will tell.

The technician, Mike Nichols, spent a good 2+hours clearing all our lines and dealing with a very messy situation in the basement. Throughout it all he communicated what he was doing and did it cheerfully. He also recommended several maintenance actions we should take in the future to prevent such a mess from happening again. He is a super star and we will definitely use this service again.
