The provider did not show for two scheduled appointments.

Returned all calls promptly and did a very good job on all aspects of the repair. Quote was best one obtained. During course of work found more problems that required additional work, but charges for this extra work were more than reasonable. Would highly recommend him for any kind of chimmney work.

I had had my furnace serviced and was told by the furnace man I needed work done on my chimney as the liner had slipped. I contacted Metro West Chimney Service after finding their ad in the Angie List monthly magazine. I wasn't sure if I would be outside their area as I am located north of Boston. Metro West was very polite and stated they would be happy to come out and inspect the chimney. We set a date and time. Their service person named Gordy arrived on time and proceeded to inspect the chimney. He confirmed we needed a new liner and a couple of other small improvements. He gave us a written estimate and I scheduled the appointment that day for the repair. Again, Gordy arrived at my home right on time and proceeded with the installation of the liner and the repairs. The repair was finished on a very timely basis and I couldn't be happier. Gordy was very personable, very polite and very respectful. He even took the time to fill out my warranty card with all the information needed so all I need to do is drop it in the mail. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and I greatly appreciate the fact Gordy was willing to travel the distance he did to service my home. Metro West Chimney Service is an A+ as far as I am concerned and so is Gordy

Based on this work, they observed some issues with the flashing around the chimney, and also noted that the cap screen had an opening in it. I understood from the technician that the cap was perhaps the wrong size for the chimney and he recommended a new one, and I agreed to have him return to address these issues. After looking at the past records, I saw that I recently had the cap re-set and the chimney re pointed, so I asked him to take a few pictures on my smart phone before he proceeded. The cap looked very secure, the pointing in excellent shape, but there was indeed a gap in the screening. I had him proceed with the flashing repair, but did not have him replace the cap. While a little frustrated, since he'd ordered a new cap, he agreed, we agreed that there had been a miscommunication. I feel that the resulting work was very good, but I would recommend the photo process as part of communicating work that was needed, ensuring that unnecessary work isn't performed.

They did respond about a week after I posted a request on the web site, and promised a follow-up call but they never came. I would not use them in the future.

He showed up exactly when promised, did a thorough job, let us know how we could improve the woodstove in a number of ways but gave us no pressure to add anything extra that day. Actually he explained a few things we could do ourselves, and finished installing the cover to the woodstove vent that we had forgotten to do. All in all an excellent experience. I am not sure about relative pricing, but the price was comparable to service when I lived I Boxboorugh.

Arrived promptly. Was professional and personable. Did the work efficiently and told me what he was doing. Made sure to keep the dirt contained and cleaned up after himself.

They had to clean my chimney twice. The first time must have been with an inexperienced guy. I called them, and they sent someone else out to re-do the cleaning.

Provider showed up right on time (even early) and called in advance. Appointment was easy to schedule. When the technician came, he told me that the one chimney flue was not very dirty so because he only had to do minor cleaning, he didn't feel right about charging me for that one. He had previously cleaned that same flue the year before.I was impressed by the honesty so I will definitely call them again next year. This was my second experience, and I had positive experiences both times.

David showed up at agreed time to assess situation and provide an estimate. Willingly went up on roof to get a better look. Came down and walked me through the issues: (1) mortar seams broken through water penetration over 22 yrs since new, (2) clay liner breaking down which is apparently rather common. He actually drew some diagrams to help explain it clearly and how he'd fix it better than before (by assuring water would not pool on brick ledges). The estimate seemed reasonable to me and his explanation was clear (demonstrating he knows what he's doing) so I did not solicit competing bids. I brought up the subject of adding a critter cage and he described some pros/cons and I decided on spot to have that added to the work needed; the estimate went from 600 to 750. His initial visit to start work was only a couple days later and again he showed up on time but this time with his assistant. They installed the staging quickly and within several hours had the initial phase of work done; all that was left was to let the cement to setup and install the critter cage. He had a several day delay in getting the critter cage from his supplier but kept me aware of the delay so no big deal. About a week later David and assistant came back to install the critter cage and had that in place and all the scaffolding down within 2 hours. I'm completely happy David did all the work he promised for the price and that it is of top quality.

100% on time, professional, friendly, knowledgeable and very reassuring - we will absolutely use Metro West Chimney in the future.

David was great. He came out the same day for an estimate. He came back a day later to do the work and it came out great. He fixed my chimney which had some shoddy repairs years ago and several broken bricks. I already hired him again to come back and do some repairs on my walkway.

This review will be very similar to a review that was posted in July. I called company and the person (male) who answered just said hello without identifying the company or who it was that was answering the phone. I had to ask to make sure I was calling the right number. Once it was established that I had called the right place I wasn't asked how I could be helped or what it was that I needed, so I had to initiate the conversation. Should have known then that perhaps I should just forget about this provider due to lack of professionalism on the phone. I made an appointment for November 6th at 4:00pm. The company never showed up, nor did they call to cancel. Never heard from the company after the appointment was made.

The estimate was timely. Job was done efficiently and in good order. It's our second time using this company for our chimney related issues.

The service was good, clean.. and timely. I had quotes more than 3x's as high. I knew the cost of the pipe bcause we looked into doing it ourselves. This person did a good job and with a great price.

Technician showed up within the agreed upon 2 hour window. He performed a inspection of the chimney and exhaust connections on the oil furnace and hot water hear, and patched some gaps within the fittings. After the cleaning he continues with an exterior inspection and recommend some additional work in the future. He provided a detailed quote for the addition work. Overall they were timely in their services and we will be using them again in the future for our chimney needs.

I called the number listed. Person answered the phone but didn't identify the company. I wasn't even sure if I had the right number. Told him I wanted an estimate on getting my chimney cleaned. He said he was in the car and would call me back later in the day. He never returned my call.

Went fine. The gentleman showed up on the two dates agreed to, did the repairs and sweeping service, showed my wife where he done the repairs, and provided two bills that added up to the agreed-upon price. Simple and no problems.

If they had not been 1.5 hours late, I would have rated them "A" on all categories.

They were actually referred to me by my furnace guy and I was really happy with them. They were thorough and honest. They did a great job. They didn't try to get extra work. There was a whole junk that I didn't use. They kept their quote as to what I needed. They did what they said as to when they said they would do it. They are also going to do my roofing. I've got a quote from them for roofing. The job turned into three and so that speaks about my happiness with them. I will use their services again in the future.

The showed up on time, and were courteous. 3 guys used their vacuums and sweeps to do the work, they put tarps down everywhere and were careful. One chimney was exceptionally bad and some soot did get in the room, but I watched them and they really tried to keep that one down to a minimum. The other rooms were clean when they went in, and clean when they left. They gave estimates on a new cap, one furnace flue replacement, and some brink work on a chimney. The guy that seemed like the supervisor was very nice, and explained everything they did in detail.

They did a good job sweeping my chimney, but they told me I needed a $2000 flu liner. Another company told me that I didn't need it after checking it out.

Work was done at a very reasonable price. Came out promptly when he said he would be there. Very good guy to deal with; it was a very easy business transaction. Most important to someone like me who is retired; there were no hidden charges.
