CENTRAL MASS HARDWOOD

Central Mass Hardwood refinished my floors this spring. Easy to work with / timely : Pete was quick to come out & measure. He emailed me the quote & the pricing was very reasonable. He worked with me to adjust the timeline when my house closing date was delayed, and his team was fabulous & completed the work so quickly that my move in date did not have to be delayed. Terrific product : Most of the floors in my house are red oak from 1973 & have significant gapping due to previous owners' use of a wood stove. The rest are newer & are white oak. Pete was clear about what he could / could not fix on the older floor and how it would look, and his team worked with me to select the right color for my home and were able to match the different floor materials / ages to each other. The floors look terrific & are smooth (though the old floors are still gappy) and will last many more years without needing to be replaced. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Central Mass Hardwood to everyone in the area!

Pete is a true professional and his crew is very experienced. He installed new hardwood and refinished some of existing hardwoods. Very professional and easy to work with. We got quotes from 6 contractors and are very happy we picked Pete.

Outstanding. Peter and crew were polite, professional, and easy to deal with. They ripped out carpet in first floor master and redid the existing hardwood throughout the entire first floor, stairs, and upstairs hall. Floors still look great after 6 months. Will definitely use them again as I am planning to install hardwood in the upstairs bedrooms in the spring.

Excellent work and estimate was about what we expected. Peter came out right away to measure and give us the estimate. He told us upfront he was booking about 3 to 3 1/2 weeks out so after getting our quotes, we decided to hire CMH. The guys who did our work were really nice, knowledgeable, and professional. They were great at communicating the schedule for each day and keeping us updated on the process. The part that impressed me the most was how little dust was left. We had cleared everything out of the room, including the curtains, before they started. They did an amazing job keeping the master bath clean throughout the process (access to the closet is through the master bath), along with cleaning up any residual dust in both areas after they were through. I honestly didn't expect it to be as clean as it was, so that was a nice surprise. The floors are beautiful and we would definitely hire them again if we have more work in the future.

It was very well done. They were able to finish the job in one week, as they had promised. The workers were pleasant, knowledgeable and did their job. They cleaned up well. Now the floors look great.

The price was reasonable, we had quotes again and they were all about the same. They came out to do the quote very promptly. My husband was actually there doing the quote, he asked like what kind of floors we like and he was very friendly during that process, understanding that we didn't really know anything about refinishing hardwood floors. We had chosen and we were able to schedule a time to have the work done before our move in and the work was completed a week before our move in so that was all great and it looks good.

We originally got three estimates and were very impressed with Peter Barber of Central Mass Hardwood. His price was slightly lower than the other estimates, but more importantly, he clearly was a professional who knew what he was doing! Because we were having two whole floors of our house redone, everything had to be moved out, stored in the kitchen, bathroom, garage, basement. For $400 Central Mass provided two men who did all of the moving and who were VERY accommodating and efficient. Their efforts included putting felt protectors on the bottoms of furniture as they returned it onto the newly refinished floors. Needless to say, we had to live elsewhere while all of this took place. We scheduled the job for October as that was the earliest time they could do the job all in one week--it was estimated that the job would take five days. As so often happens with large jobs, it ended up taking longer than anticipated, but they even worked on Saturday in an effort to get us back into our home sooner! We have highly recommended Central Mass Hardwood to several friends already!

He came in with the lowest of the estimates of the 3 companies we had give us estimates. He gave us the estimate right there on the spot. He was seemed very good and he was very responsive in getting back to me when I had followed up with some questions.

The project went badly. After installing the floor, sanding it, and putting on 2 coats of urethane, there were many scratches on the floor. When we showed them to the owner, Peter Barber, he did not want to repair it. He finally agreed to repair only half the floor. We didn't think it would like right for a new floor to get re-sanded on only half of the area, so we reached an agreement where he got most of his money and we were left to find a "real" professional to fix the floor.
