I have been trying several times to call him and to contact him by email with no luck. I ended up not using their services due to the lack of response.

I had them out and they did a good job, I would recommend them.

It went pretty well. He was a bit overwhelmed from the number of people who bought the Big Deal, but we eventually did connect and he initially did work on a minor bathroom remodel. He and his worker re-grouted my tub (beautiful job!), removed an old linoleum floor and replaced it with some sheet vinyl I had bought. They also removed my vanity and installed a pedestal sink and new faucet. At the last minute, I also asked for his help replacing some rickety stairs leading from my patio down to my back porch and that work was done quickly and beautifully. These little projects were required as we were about to put our house on the market; I appreciated his ability to help and do a great job!

Everything went well, and the gentleman did a great job.

Mr. Parreira was very responsive, and professional. When he came out to review my list, he suggested that I use the coupon for the biggest job (i.e. the tiles). The other projects on my list were quick fixes that I could do myself and thus save fair amount of money. Finally he took a quick look at a more extensive project. I appreciated that he didn't try to rush through the process and he was never condescending. We plan to have him back to do a detailed estimate the other project.

I was referred to Advanced Remodeling & Renovation by a friend. I was very happy with there service . All of the workers were very friendly and polite. I feel also they were very trustworthy. The work was done exactly the way they promised. Whenever I called the owner of the company he always answered the phone which I was very happy about.. The workers were there first thing in the morning and always put in full days. My house was in rough shape on the outside, it looks so nice now it looks like a new house.

Overall, the experience was excellent. Leo recommended the James Hardie siding as being nice looking, easy maintenance (never have to paint) and relatively quick to install, so cost efficient from an installation perspective. I could not be more pleased with how the house looks. Leo and crew have done an impeccable job. People are constantly stopping their cars and asking about it. Leo and his crew have been fully trained in the installation of Hardie siding, and Leo has had the Hardie people out to the house to provide extra supervision on installation. If it is not installed according to the company's specifications, then they do not provide their 30-yr warranty. Leo has made sure that i will receive that warranty from the company. Leo is a smart and honest contractor who really cares that things go well for his clients. I trusted his assessment of situations and always felt that he was committed to getting things done the right way. [An example: he re-did a piece of trim over the sliding glass door of my porch because it happened to be close to a window that was set into the wall slightly higher than the door. When trim of the same width was used on the window and the door, the uneven height looked funny. So Leo decided on his own to change it so that the heights would match - I just found out about it later.] I could always ask him for further explanation if i didn't understand exactly how he was approaching something. His crew are also nice, hard working and responsible people, and very respectful of my property. Leo is very easy to communicate with. He offers excellent ideas and has good judgment about what's going to work from design to materials. The job took longer than estimated, partly due to poor weather. But the crew have been at my house on Saturdays to make up for the missed days during the week. They are proceeding at a fine pace always making significant progress when they are there. Leo and crew also did an impeccable job on replacing my roof. Excellent attention to detail, all done the right way for protection as well as ventilation.

Hired him to do on ejob and found out it was way to expensive and had him paint the bathroom instead so i could use the coupon.

Leo is responsible and professional. I was having a washer and dryer built in, but I wanted them built up because they sit low. He figured out something in a small space. He was responsive and I liked his work.

Pretty sloppy work. When they finished the shingle job I found paint splatters all over my plantings, pieces of shingles everywhere, and much other detritus strewn all over the work area. The job they did was fine, not great, not bad. The inside job was equally sloppy. I called from work after they'd been working a few days to see how it was progressing and when it would be done and was told it had been completed that day -- when I returned home everything was a mess, there were glops of drywall compound on walls, wainscoting, floor, doorknobs, etc. Dried compound hadn't been sanded well so the walls looked rough in places. Door and baseboard trim was done sloppily. The owner and one of his workers came by the next day when I complained and we reviewed everything. When I pointed out a particularly bad baseboard trim job where the angles of the cut were obviously incorrect, the owner insisted that it was the correct way to do it. He finally acquiesced to how I said it should be done, but acted like I was an ignorant homeowner and didn't know what I was talking about -- when I got home that night I saw it had been corrected and it was so obvious that the way I insisted it be done was the correct way. I got the feeling I was supposed to be grateful that they did the second round of clean-up; but it wouldn't have been necessary to come back if they'd done it correctly the first time. I subsequently had both rooms painted and things look fine now. But I can't recommend this company -- the skill level and pride of work just isn't up to snuff. UPDATE November 2012: I noticed that the provider left a response to my negative review and in it he said "It is a pity that after months that the work was finished, you have made the final payment." Work was finished around May 9th. I knew that I hadn't paid him late, but to make sure, I verified with my bank account online that I had an automatic payment set up from my checking account, to be received by the vendor by May 17, about a week after the work was done. I use this payment system to pay all my bills and have never had a payment not arrive on time. If the payment was late (and I sincerely doubt it was) , it was not through my fault. Also, if the payment was "months" late as he says, why didn't he notify me?

Leo responded in a reasonable amount of time to my email about the coupon, and we scheduled a date. He came to look at the jobs on that date, and to advise about materials I needed (a supporting rod for the closet pole, and a new CO detector for one I thought was complete). We later made an appointment for the work, but he had to cancel on that morning (called me) because of an emergency at another job to which he had to deploy the workers he had intended to send here. The work was rescheduled. Leo came to make sure his two workers knew what to do, and he reviewed the items with me before advising them. The workers were professional and efficient, and cleaned up after themselves. Leo called later in the morning to find out how things went and whether the work had been done. Leo also advised me in detail about another job in our condo, telling me what materials to get and where to find them. He also provided estimates for two other jobs that are for the condo as a whole. Fine job, overall. Very pleasant and professional. Sometimes, it takes a few days and a couple of emails to hear back from Leo, because he is busy, but his response time is within a reasonable time period, I think. I also found that if I sent a second email and said, "I sent an email a couple of days ago, but haven't heard," he responded fairly quickly.

I bought an Angie's List coupon that offered 4 hours of handyman services. Leonardo came to give me estimates for various tasks; he was prompt, polite, professional, and clear about what he could and couldn't do (for example, for some electrical issues, he recommended a professional electrician instead). I couldn't schedule any work for some time, and Leonardo kindly agreed to honor the coupon even after its expiration date. I ultimately ended up using it to replace the faucets on the double sinks in my master bathroom. Leonardo had expected the job to take about 4 hours, which seemed like a lot of time to me, but I knew I'd still be saving money by not hiring a professional plumber. In fact, the job took Leonardo even longer than he estimated, because when he was testing everything at the end, he found a leak that needed repair. I told him to bill me for the extra time/work, but he has not--a very generous gesture. I feel very comfortable in recommending Leonardo and would use his company again. He did a fine job, left everything very tidy, and was very pleasant to deal with--good about returning messages, confirming our appointments, calling me when he was running late, etc. He showed a level of responsiveness that you don't always get, which I appreciated very much!

We called him and he said to leave him an email. He never responded to the email and all our phone calls. His phone mysteriously stopped working so we had no way of getting in contact with him. We tried to get this scheduled and since he has not responded the coupon is now expired.

Although I was the person who handled all the phone calls and took Leo around during the appraisal, I was away when the actual work was done. However, my husband was here for that phase and we were both pleased with the attentiveness that Leo showed. Even after the job was finished, he came by to help my husband move the big pieces of furniture back into place. The floors, which were 40 years old and had never been refinished, look amazing now!! Also, one more detail I'd like to add: I was surprised to hear that not only did Leo not ask for a single cent up front, he said that he wanted to wait the five days or so until I returned and saw the floors before discussing payment. Wow! That is almost unheard of these days and really made a big impression on me. There are a couple of minor things that need to be fixed (little spills here and there), but Leo said he will take care of them. I contacted him yesterday to set up a time for him to come by, and to discuss other projects, and feel confident that he will call promptly.

They came out to my home and found that they weren’t going to be able do the work. They advised me of a couple of things, and made some alternate suggestions for the services I could look into. They were honest and helpful, which I appreciated.

They contacted me immediately after I purchased the Big Deal. About a month later, I contacted them, and Leonardo came out to take a look at what needed to be done. He made some recommendations on what needed to be done, and then I didn’t hear from him for a couple of weeks. I then received a quote from him itemizing each thing that needed to be done and the cost, but included the Big Deal as a discount. I responded from that quote that I just wanted to get the four hours of handyman work done covered by the Deal. That was okay, we scheduled an appointment, and he came out to do the work. At that time, I decided not to do any more work. I felt like he wanted to do more work like a contractor versus a handyman service, so I didn’t go back to him for more work.

The work turned out very well. They were thorough, did what I asked them to do, and had good communication. It was a two-person crew, and they were also personable and good to work with.

The experience was pretty good overall. He was accommodating; I needed to make a changes a few different times and he made sure that he’d be able to get the work done within the time frame needed, since I had tenants moving in. The price that was charged was very fair for the work that was done. The work was also of good quality.

A few minor things were left to be done because they didn't have the right piece of trim, which they still have to come back to get ahold of. He was sometimes hard to get ahold of, but once a time was set up, he showed up promptly. **Two weeks passed after the work was initially started, and I contacted them about when they were going finish the trim. Leo told me that they would come back out to finish it, but that there would be an additional charge of around $50. I didn't think it was worth it, since it was something they were supposed to finish intially, so I just took care of it myself. It cost me $5 for supplies.

I wanted them to paint the inside of a closet and to fix some grout in the shower. They showed up about an hour and a half late, and Leonardo came out with one painter. They seemed knowledgeable and did a good job with the painting, but no grout work was ever done. We’ve discussed this previously, so I’m not sure why that never got done. His system of communication was odd and there was no easy way to talk to him before the appointments. I don’t think I’d work with him again, but I’d recommend this company for painting work.

We received an Angie's List coupon for him. He was excellent. He was punctual and did great work. He found an existing door in my garage that he was able to modify to fit. It saved me from having to purchase a new door.
