Charlie Ricker, President of Ricker Associates Home & Building Inspections, Llc. recently performed a thorough and complete home inspection on a detached condominium I am purchasing. I could not be happier with his inspection and expertise. He was able to point out a major safety concern that could have resulted in a significant fire. This is actually the second time I have benefited from his expert services. The first time was during an inspection on a single family home over the summer. During that inspection he noted serious concerns which enabled me to withdraw my offer. I was able to avoid being stuck in a home that would have required numerous repairs, time, frustration, anxiety, lost sleep, and money. His reports are detailed, thorough, and informative. Charlie was very professional and took the time to explain everything as he went. I shadowed him the whole time and he was great. After he was finished he gave me a high-level understanding of major issues that would need to be fixed soon and sent the full report within a couple hours. Highly recommended!

Charlie was phenomenal. He was incredibly detailed and knowledgable. It was clear from the start that he was in our corner (the potential home buyer) and not the realtors. In fact, when our realtor heard beforehand who we were using, she was panicked that he would ruin the deal because he would find too many "issues" with the house. This was the best news we could have heard. That means he was the right guy for the job. He does not give an estimate on how long the inspection will take. He takes his time - as long as needed. He encourages lots of questions and treats the inspection like an educational experience for us about our new home as well as the technical inspection. His report is thorough and written. Not a check list. Charlie is available 24/7 on his cell phone and is fast to respond. His fee may be slightly higher than most (depends on the home), but you definitely get what you pay for. Best investment we could have made. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Charlie inspected two homes for us. One we did not buy (for several reasons, one of which was his assessment) and the other we did buy. Charlie is extremely thorough and ''by the book,'' and provides a detailed report immediately following the inspection using a laptop and portable printer. He was also great with follow up questions.
