Post And Rail Fence

Joe and his team installed a fence for us in October of 2023. We got 3 quotes and they were all about the same price so went with Post & Rail .At the time of instillation, we had concerns about the sturdiness of some of the posts. When gently pushed on, the entire fence panel shifted. Joe cam out right away and filled in the areas with more dirt. He assured us if we had issues he'd be happy to come back. Joe's team also damaged one of our above ground pipes to our hot tub. He agreed that if we had issues in the spring when we opened the pool, he would pay for the repairs. Unfortunately, he is now refusing to do this despite multiple emails and requests he is now denying that his team broke the pipe (despite previously admitting to it). We paid $11,000 for the fence and are asking for $250 in repair costs for the pipes to the spa. Others should be warned that if something goes wrong during instillation, Joe may not be willing to work with you on a fair solution. I would not recommend this company.

I got four quotes, and had a few contractors that couldn't even be bothered to return my call. Joe's closest competitor was a couple hundred dollars higher, but Joe's experience also inspired confidence. I could tell Joe would get the job done the way I requested, and would not give me an excuse as to why it could not be done. Joe also got me my quote faster, and could start closer to the time I wanted. Joe showed up with one helper on the day he estimated he'd be done with his other jobs, which coincided with some demolition I was doing in that back enclosed area. This was important because I didn't want to be doing the demo and having to go around the old fence. So the fact that he showed up when he said he would allowed me to continue with my plans unhindered. The job took Joe and his helper about two and a half days. The fence came out great, and they cleaned up every speck of debris. Joe returned every call I made to him almost immediately, and if he was talking to me in-person and his phone rang, I noticed he almost always returned the call immediately upon completion of our conversation. It's been almost two years since I had the fence installed, and it looks just as good as the day it was put up, and my driveway doors latch fine. In the three years I have been a homeowner, with all the various services I have asked for, Joe Oram remains one of the top three most pleasant contractors I have hired, overall. Whether you build fences or sell shoes, everyone is in competition against each other for customer service first impressions, so being in the top three overall is pretty awesome. If you need a fence and Joe will come to you, then you cannot go wrong.
