Mike was great to work with. He had a busy schedule but was still able to fit us in within the time he said he would. Communication was excellent before the visit, so I was able to have everything ready for him to save time. He replaced the ballast for our kitchen light and also tested another light that was flickering. The issue with the flickering light was the fixture and he told me that it would need to be replaced. Rather than him coming back after I bought a new fixture, he recommended I install it myself and explained how to do this. The installation worked without any issues and the light is working again. Definitely an overall great experience at a very reasonable price.

Mike came out to do a quote for an assortment of minor work items that our home inspector had suggested when we bought our house. He seemed professional and knowledgeable and was happy to look over all the items we were interested in, explaining how important each note from the home inspector was or wasn't and catching one or two issues that the home inspector had missed. We asked him whether we needed to hire him for running some low-voltage ethernet cable or whether we could do that ourselves; he said we were fine to do it ourselves so long as it wasn't touching the electrical panel or anything high voltage. We initially thought this was a good sign (not selling us on work we didn't really need an electrician for). We later learned that our town (Rehoboth)'s building department disagrees with this advice; they advised us that Rehoboth ordinance *does* require that work like that be done under a permit by a licensed professional. His quote was timely and reasonably priced (about average among the quotes we received). We asked to book the appointment, but we had trouble getting in contact with him; it took a few tries and a month's delay to get a response back confirming a date. When we asked for details about the process for getting a permit and inspection set up for the work, he informed us that those weren't included as part of the quote, and that if we wanted the work to be done with a permit he'd have to adjust the quote to add the permit fees and to add arc-fault breakers to the quote, which are apparently required to meet permit requirements but which he hadn't originally planned to use in the quote. We were slightly uncomfortable with the repeated communication hangups during scheduling and extremely uncomfortable with the idea that we wouldn't be able to trust that the work was done according to local ordinance, so we cancelled the appointment.

This is the second time I have called Mike, because I was so pleased with his work the first time. Mike came when he said he would, gave advice that ultimately has saved us money, and he did not want payment. In addition Mike is professional and a real nice guy.

Couldn't have been better. Mike was quick to provide an estimate and to book an installation time when we chose him. He texted the day before to confirm his arrival time and then texted on the installation dates to estimate his ETA. He did the work perfectly and cleaned up as though he was never here. He charged exactly what he quoted, which was less than one other quote we received. Mike did a great job and we would hire him again without question. Best of all, we love our new under cabinet lights.

Michael returned my call promptly and was able to fit me in the same day. He was professional, efficient, and personable. I would absolutely call Michael again and would highly recommend him.

We bought a big old house that needed(s) a lot of work. We are doing most of the work ourselves and living in the project during completion. We started the process with a series of interviews with folks sourced from Angie’s list. We did a full walk through and Mike gave us a competitive estimate. In the beginning of this project, I thought all that was the most important part: good guy, good work, good estimate. A year into the project I realize that flexibility, communication, responsiveness, and organization are just as important. Our job is a series of sprints as well as managing more longer term work. You can’t safely demo the kitchen/dining/powder room until the mixed knob and tub and other stuff is out of the way. Once demo’d, you can’t live in complete darkness or with one light with a switch tucked into the ceiling that you can only reach with a wooden spoon. Once you finally get new mechicals installed in late November it is critical to have it set up and plugged in and troubleshooted ASAP (brrrr). Once you live in a construction site for a year, you cannot imagine the lure of having 1 room DONE. For all of these reasons and more our project is a series of critical (to us) sprints. Mike has worked with us so well the whole way. He can accommodate and schedule the bigger chunks of work as well as helping us through smaller sprints and one off issues. He is always responsive with communication so we know what the plan is. He is always respectful of our house - we are only here about 25% of the time he is. And the work is good and passes inspection which is obviously key. We couldn’t be happier with the work he is doing for us!

Michael Mcdougal electrical was the most professional electrician I have ever hired. He made sure everything was top notch and worked exactly as planned. I would not hesitate to call him in the future for any needs. Mike was so great to work with and I am having him come back for additional work.

Excellent. One of the few tradesman that actually gets back to you. Not sure why most don’t. Those others are irritating and obnoxious not to do so.

Mike was very responsive and professional from the get-go. He arrived as planned and completed the work timely, which included coming back a second day and wrapping up work due to conflicting matters on my behalf. If i had one caveat it was that the areas in which work was completed was not entirely cleaned up. All in all, i was appreciative and happy with the end result and plan to conduct business with Mike again.

Michael did an excellent job. He was very courteous, personable, and did the job quickly and with obvious attention to detail and quality. I am very pleased with the work he did and would certainly hire him again.

After I had the power cut off I call Michael at midnight and he answered his cell phone. I told him what had happen and and he said he's be there at 6:00 AM next day. He was there and got me hooked back up that day! He's a man of his word!

Mike is best in class. I had about 15 different electrical projects that needed to be done around the property, both inside and outside. The work included wiring new fixtures, installing new recessed lighting, repairing and installing new bathroom fans, new electrical outlets, outdoor lighting and a lot more. Mike guided me on which fan to purchase and was helpful with his perspectives on different lighting options. He also needed to come back several times because of shipping delays of some of the fixtures and he came back at no charge to install when they finally arrived. Very friendly and personable (and good with kids and dogs)Will definitely use Mike again and recommend him to others.
