A & L Lawncare

The lawn was mowed while I was at work. It was nice to come home and see that done. The job included trimming the edges. We have contracted for twice a month thru the summer and will decide on Fall cleanup as that time draws near.

We're very happy with the work that's been done.

After contacting Mike about performing a spring clean-up, he stopped by on time, surveyed the job, and explained what he would do for the clean-up and dethatching. He was very professional and informative, so I have him the go-ahead with the job. The A & L Lawncare crew arrived on time and went right to work. Mike was there to supervise the staff and was very thorough. The yard clean-up was better than I expected and his staff was very careful not to damage anything on the properly. I would use A & L Lawncare again for lawn services. His prices were very reasonable.

Fall cleanup for quarter acre with a lot of pine needles. On-site disposal was available.

Mike was excellent in responding to initial request for estimate and came out within a day or two. He followed up with phone calls as needed for scheduling and questions. He and his crew were efficient and did a superb job removing a lot of leaves then mowing and trimming our lawn- and we have a huge area. We were very very satisfied and impressed. Would use his services again in a hearbeat and highly recommend him to others.

I finally caved and decided to have someone take care of the lawn at my rental property in Walpole. After numerous companies not calling back and blowing me off for just lawn cutting services, Mike was more than happy to have the business and work on a price with me. The lawn never gets high and Mike is very responsive. Bills and invoices are clear and punctual. Couldn't be happier with what he's done so far.

There is nothing better than coming home from work to a beautiful yard and knowing I don't have to do anything to keep it that way. I've already recommended Mike to my sister.

Mike has done a very nice job for us. He completes the work on a regular basis and always responds promptly to emails and phone calls. We hope to continue services with him and would definitely recommend his services to others.

A & L Lawncare has been mowing our lawn for a few months now. They show up regularly and do high quality work quickly. We are very happy with the service we've received.

Mike was very punctual and was always available to come over when I needed him to mow my lawn. They also trimmed the grass where it was needed and also cleaned up the needles and leaves from the driveway, patio and walkway. Since this was a newly established lawn he was careful at the beginning of the summer to not disturb the areas of the lawn that were soft and had been seeded. Mike does a good job and was always responsive when I reached out to him via text. I would recommend him and hire him again.

They came out three weeks ago. It had been a while since the lawn had been serviced, so they had to go over it a couple of times and they charged me extra for that. The person that I spoke to was named Michael, he was friendly, courteous and I think that they did a very effective job. They got the work done fairly quickly and I have had no problems with the work that they did. I would use them again.

Mike and his team did a good job. The only negative feedback I have is his response time through email.

After reading the great reviews for A & L Lawncare, I contacted Mike in late July for a quote to aerate our front and side yard. A couple days later he got back to us with a very reasonable quote so we asked him to schedule the aeration sometime in September. Overall I think he did a great job and even did the back yard as well. I was very pleased with his work and would highly recommend him. We will certainly contact A &L Lawncare for future lawn work.

We were in contact on two occasions to set up appointments for them to come and speak to me about what need to be done and to set up a contract. I was blown off on both occasions. My feeling is that this owner is very undependable and I would assume that those who work for him would be the same.

Mike was very easy to talk to and explain what I needed for lawn treatments. When I developed some additional weed problems, Mike came over and took care of it. He took a lot of extra time to explain the problem we were having, what causes it and how to treat it. Mike also helped with educating us on suggested tree removal and/or treatments. He recommended a tree service company that I have since pursued. Mike has shown us that it's not about the money or the big job. Our little lawn gets the same attention as the big customers. I like that very much and will likely continue with A & L for larger projects we're considering in the future.

As a busy professional I just don't have the time to do lawn mowing (nor the inclination). I had them start with my lawn's clean up. That was done very well seeing that the yard had tons of clean up to do. He also gave me a complimentary first lawn mower service. Every time I start thinking that maybe the lawn should be mowed, they come within a day and it is magically all set again. They are very quick and they do a very good job.

We contacted Mike based his AngiesList reviews to give our yard a little TLC before winter. We had just moved in an didn't even own a rake yet. Mike came out and inspected the property, gave a us a few pointers on what we should do going forward, and gave a fair estimate for blowing the leafs off the grass, giving it a mow and cleaning out our gutters. He and his crew followed through with the service and we would definitely call Mike in the future.

We first contacted A&L via phone on a Monday. We received a follow-up voicemail message on Wednesday morning asking for additional details. We returned the call Wednesday and followed up with multiple email messages on Thursday. A visit to the property was scheduled for the next day, Friday. While we were not required to be home during the visit, we were home all day and no one came to the house at any point. The following Monday an email was received indicating that the business was booked through July and that they would be unable to help us.

Mike and A&L Lawncare did a fantastic job. I will absolutely continue to use them in the future and will recommend them to anyone who is looking for lawn care services.

I contracted to have my driveway plowed and had asked for it to be done by 6 am. Due to a miscommunication between dispatch and the driver, nobody showed up until I called later in the morning. The owner was very apologetic, sent someone right over and did not charge me for the late plow. It was irritating at the time, but I felt the owner was very good about making it up to me.

I needed to find a reliable snow plow person as I run a nursery school out of my home and my husband works for a utility company who is required to work around the clock during weather emergencies. I've hired several plowers in the past but they didn't always show up or showed up too late. I went on Angie's List to find a snowplow person with a good rating. That is how I ended up choosing A & L. I called them and left a message. They called me right back. They stayed in contact with me throughout anticipated snowy weekend. It only snowed a couple of inches so I didn't need their services, though I was impressed how Nelson staying in touch with me. We then got the blizzard in February. There was plenty of snow to plow, but at least it was the light and fluffy kind. I called A & L and Nelson said I am on their plow list and will swing by to plow. He and two helpers did a good job plowing out my triangular shaped driveway. The wait time wasn't bad. They charged $110.00 which I thought was on the high side. My previous plow person charged me $40.00 each swipe PLUS shoveled the school entrance and applied salt to that area. We got another snowstorm March 7-8th. Again, there was plenty of snow to plow, but this time it was wet and heavy. After working a double shift, my husband had 6 hrs. off to come home and rest before setting out to do another double shift. We shoveled our driveway 4 times on Thursday to keep up with the increasing amount of snow. Nelson Hadn't shown up. I guess I needed to call when I needed him to plow. So I called Friday between 2pm-2:30pm. A & L told me they couldn't get here until 6 or 7pm. My husband arrived home around 3pm but had no where to park his car. The street had only been plowed down to one lane so he couldn't park there. A neighbor's driveway had been partially plowed, so we got our shovels to open up that driveway so he had somewhere to park the car. I'm sure this was the last thing my exhausted husband wanted to after working a double shift of restoring people's power. Since we couldn't leave the car in my neighbor's driveway for 6 hrs., all family members helped shovel the heavy snow until we finally flagged down a passing plow. We paid him to plow the left side of our driveway so we could get our car into the garage. Nelson showed up a little past 6pm to plow the rest of our driveway. I took some pictures to show how Nelson wasn't able to get down to the pavement. There was 2 inches left where he plowed. The left side was down to the pavement from the other plower. I told Nelson in the beginning that we needed a reliable snow plow person, even if it meant doing several swipes. We will find someone more local for now on. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ I read the owners response and felt it would be helpful for when they serve future clients. I was NEVER told of the "full time" or "call only" choices. There was also never anything in writing. As I stated above in the review, I run a nursery school out of my home and needed the driveway plowed. Whether it be several swipes or only 2-3 inches of snow. I was also never told of the 4" or more rule of snow. I was only told "I was on the list". Therefore, I assumed I wouldn't have to call each time I needed a plow. State law requires schools to have all emergency exits cleared. So I am busy shoveling those areas while I had hoped the driveway would be taken care of without having to place a call. Perhaps if their policies would have been presented to me (either verbally or in writing) it would have saved both of us quite a bit of aggravation. The saddest part of reading A & L's response to my review is his flat out lie of why there were still several inches of snow left of the driveway, after he had plowed. There was NO car anywhere near that area!! Look at the first picture. You can see the additional parking space BETWEEN the garage and shed. THAT is where my car was snowed in. It was NOT in the driveway.

I asked for the snow removal service weeks before the service occurred. Initially I emailed to confirm the type of service. Mike drove by my house while I am away to check the driveway before giving me a price. Once we agreed, I thought I am in his list. On Feb 9, we had our first major snow storm with snow around 18". Two days earlier, I emailed Mike to confirm that I am on his list for plow and received confirmation of yes and he quoted the price will be $100 because the snow total expected to be closer to 24". But maybe because of the size of the storm, no one showed up to plow the driveway and I tried calling but always got answering machine. Then I send email and received reply around 4:00 pm not recalling me as a house to plow in his list. I reminded him about our prior email exchanges and then about 11:00 pm the house was plowed. Two days later, a check was mailed to his name.

I was out of town for a three week period during which major storms occurred. I called Mike as a potential new customer. Mike returned my call promptly and professionally. He agreed to take care of my driveway so I need not worry during my time away. He even called me back a week later, while I was still away, to let me know another storm was expected and to see if I wanted them to plow again. When I returned, the driveway looked wonderful and was easily accessible and navigatable. My neighbors even commented on how skilled and professional the workers were and how great the driveway looked. I could not be more pleased, will use Mike again, and will recommend him without hesitation. A+++++ all around!

Mike responded very quickly to my request to have driveway plowed. It was during the blizzard pf 2013 and he responded within hours. I was in no rush, they got to the driveway the day after the storm was over even though I was anew customer. Price was very resonible for the length of the driveway.R
