Terrible experience. While he came quickly to provide an estimate, sign a contract, and get a deposit, that was the last thing he was punctual for. He started 2 weeks late, he would come for half a day, then disappear for a week. My house was tarped for a weeks on end. Debris was left strewn around the yard for weeks, and killed the landscape, he paid off the garbage men to take away the shingles, and he did a poor quality job. I had to watch him the whole time, all the time to make sure he wasn't cutting corners, and caught him several times trying to do just that. I didn't even have him finish the porch roof because he was doing it wrong. Hollow promises the whole time. I did everything I could to prevent it too. He had insurance, licenses, and I checked his references. He had no complaints with the BBB, and his truck was all lettered up. He looked professional. Nothing has leaked (yet) but I had to spend thousands repairing the landscape, fixing chimney flashing, and more. He also shot nails through all the eave trim so it sticks out, almost impaling my painter several times. By far the worst contractor I ever worked with. The worst part is, he technically did everything on the contract, so you can't report him to anyone. Make sure it is the most detailed contract ever with specific start and finish dates. Definitely avoid this guy.
Description of Work: Strip existing roof, put new plywood across the whole roof, drip edge, new shingles, new ridge vent, rubber roof on porch, removal of all debris

Though Mr. Santos arrived promptly to provide the original estimate, he showed up unexpectedly to perform the work, due to weather delay on the original start date. Unfortunately for me, I was at work when he called upon arriving at the house. He and his crew proceeded to perform the work, and called me later with an issue about the siding. I immediately returned home, and they proceeded to tell me that the siding on entire side of the house needed to be replaced because it was loose, at an additional cost of $2500. We agreed to wait a day or two on the siding while I contacted to previous owner. After a visit by the previous owner, I left a message for Mr. Santos, stating that the area in question was a patch repaired by the previous owner, and that I’d like him to install the 1 box of siding as previously discussed. My call was not returned. A couple days later, I was awakened around 3 AM by the sound of water dripping into my closet from around the exhaust flume. After several calls to Mr. Santos during business hours, he picked up and scheduled a day to return to complete the work. He never showed. After nearly 2 weeks, I finally got him on the phone again, scheduling a time that he didn’t show up for again. Since then, I either get his voice mail or a message saying his voice mail is full.
Description of Work: I hired Paulo Roofing Contractor, owned by Mario Santos, to fix a significant leak around a metal exhaust flume on a 1-year old rubber roof that the previous owner had installed by Uniply Roofing of Middleton, fix siding that was coming loose on one side of the house, and install exhaust vents for the baths on 2nd and 3rd floors. Upon inspecting the roof, Mr. Santos said water was under a section of the rubber roof and that section needed to be replaced, followed by sealing around the flume and edges of entire roof for $2,500. Also recommended placing a layer of asphalt shingles on sections of a metal roof on the front of the house ($100). Charged $200 to purchase and install 1 box of siding , and offered to install bath vents at no charge (I provided materials).
