After using Ney Painting at our condo and having a good experience, we decided to use them again to paint the interior of our new house. Claudinei came out two months before our closing to view the property and provide an estimate. The estimate looked fair and we agreed to proceed after the closing and before we moved in. We had a tight schedule with other work being done and our move-in date but Claudenei said he could complete the job on-time. The day the work was scheduled to start, we added two additional rooms which Claudinei agreed to do at a fair price and within our timeline. But I was shocked when Claudinei informed me his estimate did not include painting of the windows or the closets. My understanding was when I asked for a room to be painted - it included walls, ceilings, trim, windows, doors, and closets. But apparently that was not clear. We were charged an additional $20 per window and $150 per closet. I was also informed that none of the walls or trim would be wiped down prior to painting. Everything was dirty after 20 years and freshly refinished floors. Having done enough painting myself, I know you should always clean the surfaces before painting. Claudinei said I would either have to do that myself or hire someone before painting started. I spent the weekend wiping down the surfaces while Ney Painting prepped the space. Claudinei sent a crew of five men who were polite and efficient and work progressed as planned. Though I caught the workers cleaning out thier bushes in my kitchen sink instead of the basement utility sink. For the most part, all surfaces recieved a coat of primer and a coat of paint. One room was very dark and one coat of primer and one coat of paint was not enough to completely mask the old dark color. When I questioned Claudinei about this, he said his contract only included two coats. Unbelievable - either paint it correctly or tell me you can't and I will find someone who can. After the job was done and Ney Painting was paid, I discovered most of the closets only received the primer coat. I also noticed Ney Painting did not paint behind our radiators. The overall quality was acceptable despite the listed issues, plus some dings in the walls, small scratches on our new floors, and some sloppy painting in spots. The clean-up was pretty good and the work was completed on-time. Anyone considering using Ney Painting should be very clear what they want done and make sure the estimate clearly states what is included and what is not. Thoroughly inspect all work during and after the job is complete.
Description of Work: Painted a total of 9 rooms plus hallways and a staircase across two floors.

We were about to sell our condo and needed to paint our kitchen and touch up a bathroom wall. Claudinei was able to come on short notice, provide us with a fair quote, and fit us into his schedule to accommodate our listing date. We had some rough and uneven sections in our kitchen ceiling and Claudinei and his crew skim-coated and sanded to make it flat. The paint job looks outstanding. I do however have two complaints. First, the clean-up from the plaster sanding was not great. They used water to wipe up the plaster dust which pushed the plaster dust/water mixture between cracks in our hardwood floors and along our baseboards. It has been very had to remove and some is still there. The second issue was the caulking around the bathtub. Claudinei or one of his painters used clear caulk instead of white. Trying to get Claudinei back to re-caulk with white was very difficult but it was eventually done. Despite these two issues, I plan to use Ney Painting to paint our new house.
