Description of Work: I bought a Big Deal from them for a custom kitchen design with measurements and plans.

Description of Work: They were very professional and punctual in providing plans and a quote. They estimated about $45K for the remodel; another contractor who estimated $17K was given the job.

Description of Work: i contacted mattos co. b/c i purchased a coupon for a remodeling estimated on my kitchen...........a lovely young woman by the name of anna (?) came to do the measurements and then e-mailed the floor plan to me.........about a month or so later i called and spoke with lou(?) about wanting an estimate on her plans..........he said he'd get back to me with a quote but i never heard from him.......

Description of Work: Task was to draw-up plans for kitchen re-model. Staff arrived on time, took thorough measurements of my (very disjointed) kitchen space and (w/in 2 weeks) delivered these to my home. They were accomodating w/ the fact that I do not have FAX nor PRINTER at my home, which made their task less stream-lined--instead the kitchen designer delivered the paperwork directly to me-a nice service that I greatly appreciated. Have since decided to defer this project until next year, but I would definitely consider using MATTOS at that time..

Description of Work: I purchased the Big Deal last fall for a kitchen design, and called promptly. Louis responded, and in about a month he came out to the house to measure and talk about what we wanted. He apologized for the delay and said they were backed up. I said that was fine as long as I could get the design within the next month to take advantage of a particular cabinet sale. He said I'd get the design via email next week. I never got the design. They took $75 dollars but didn't actually deliver anything. Admittedly, I've been very polite in my repeated phone calls and emails, but I should have received a design. It's been almost a year now. Now when I send my monthly email to them, I still get a reply that they're sorry, they've been very busy--it's almost funny. Short of pitching an epic fit, I don't know what I should have done. I've hired another designer, but I keep sending messages because I've clearly been taken advantage of. I don't know how to get my money back for something purchased through Angie's List, and it's made me nervous of buying big deals--instead I now call the company directly and ask for the "deal" price. At least that way, I only pay when the work is actually done.

Description of Work: We contacted Jel Mattos in February 2012 for an estimate on a 100 square foot kitchen renovation in our home. One of his workers came to our home on time on the scheduled date and offered several helpful suggestions for our dysfunctional kitchen. We received the estimate within two weeks and when we had several specific questions, Jel personally answered the e-mail with all the answers. His pricing was very similar to the other two contractor estimates. We decided to go with another contractor, but I wanted to acknowledge the pleasant experience we had with the Mattos Company. We would absolutely consider using them for a future home renovation project.

Description of Work: Mattos Co. performed all of the interior, exterior, rough-in and finish work for me on this 5700 s.f. home. Their work is exceptional, their workers are polite, punctual, highly skilled in their multiple disciplines and the overall experience was unlike any other in my 20+ yrs. of working with contractors. Their commitment doesn't end when the job is complete nor when the final payment is made - Jel Mattos (the owner) is committed to complete customer satisfaction - regardless of whether the job is in progress or long-since completed. Would recommend without hesitation in the future and do recommend to my own clientele, on a regular basis.

Description of Work: Mattos Company, put a new roof on our home, renovated 2 old bathroom and kitchens (stone countertops and stone tiles, floors and walls, glass back splash), new closets for master bedroom, renovated living room and dining room (plaster and new fireplace); painted 8 rooms. Beautiful work! Very reasonable pricing for the amount of work completed.
