+ -1 moreThe cabinets started to de-laminate, the cabinet above the refrigerator started to sag, and the partition around the dishwasher started to collapse. Home Depot, Mills Pride cabinet officials both came over to inspect. It turns out that not only was the cabinet which contained the microwave punched out with only one hole and dangling, the Microwave was vented the wrong way causing systemic damage to all the cabinets on that side. In addition, many mistakenly punched-out holes never repaired were apparent. The cabinets themselves were hung too low, subject to heat from oven, and the big cabinet above the fridge started to bow because the proper re-enforcement was never installed. The backside of the cabinets also was crudely cut with a jig saw and started to fail because the screws they used were too small. The dishwasher supports were never glued-in, and they started to collapse. HD and Mills Pride both made good but it took over two years to resolve.
Description of Work: M.A.K. Construction was referred by Home Depot as the contractor to install new Mills Pride Cabinets, stainless steel sink, disposal, and Maytag appliances(dishwasher oven, microwave over oven). The Corean countertops were installed by Surface Technology, and they were professional, prompt, and perfect. M.A.K. Only gives out cell number and never return calls, only show up at your door. Sometimes they call from the fax number, which is 781-321-3725. They are no longer working with Home Depot. I had already done the electrical work though another contractor, Joe Penney. The project was a delayed nightmare. During the construction, they hooked up the oven wrong, scratched my new hardwood floor, left plaster and rubble around which took weeks to clean up, and walked off with my tape measure, a keepsake from my father I had for 30 years. Since the new kitchen was a dramatic improvement, I naively signed off. Only 6 month later did the shabbiness in their workmanship show up.
