Michael and his crew were amazing. We had just purchased a new house and wanted to have work completed prior to moving in. Michael did a great job providing extremely accurate estimates. He pointed out issues that no other contractors had mentioned, he was polite and curteous and on-time for all the appointments. My husband had 2 other window contractors and 2 other siding contractors give us estimated, and we ended up picking ICS for both jobs. And we were extremely glad that we did. We had at tight timeline, and were concerned about getting the work completed prior to having our floors refinished, and in time to move in before our lease expired. Michael stayed in very close contact with us while the materials were ordered and as he got a better idea as to when the work could begin. When his crew started working, we thought the place might look like a mess (old siding and windows were coming out and new siding/ windows were going in for the entire house), but Michaels crew was very diligent about cleaning up every day. My husband works near our new house and he swung by every day to check out the progress and talk with the guys. He said the crew was amazing! He was impressed by how diligent they were and felt confident that they weren't cutting corners anywhere. The window work was more complicated then pulling out old and putting in new windows. The old windows were all metal and had no frames, so the guys had to build new framing for each window hole. Michael was the only contractor who had thought that through and factored it into his estimate and measurements. Because of this, the new window installation went off without a single issue. We are extremely pleased with the work ICS performed. The estimate never changed, the measurements were exactly correct, and the workmanship was 100% perfect. We have not had a single issue with anything ICS did. (we had a friend who had windows replaced around the same time as us and he used a different contractor, and he had to have all his new windows removed and replaced due to poor workmanship and poor installation, 6months later and he's already having issues again). I would, and do, recommend ICS for any siding and window work.

In the process of researching contractors to re-do our roof, we contacted a variety of different companies. ICS was very responsive to calls and emails, always getting back to us the same day. In our extremely busy lives, having such easy access to a courteous and knowledgeable customer service rep made all the difference. Not all contractors function fully yet on email and if they do, they often unreliably check the account and thus don't always reply in a timely fashion, but the guys at ICS always wrote back quickly, for even the smallest question or concern. In getting the estimate, ICS gave us a printed sheet with very specific details of what they proposed for our house. We had two options, one to fix an immediate issue on its own, and the other to get the entire roof re-done. Even though we knew that ICS stood to gain much more from us by re-doing the entire roof, I trusted them when they went through the various reasons why patching just the bad area would end up costing us more in the long run and wouldn't be under warranty. The guys who came for the walk-through were very knowledgeable, kind, courteous and relaxed. I never felt like they were trying to up-sell us with anything or give us anything beyond their honest assessment of what we needed and what their best recommendation was. ICS definitely takes their customer service very seriously, which is not something we could say about some of the other vendors we have worked with. ICS was very organized throughout the process and followed through by answering tons of questions and articulating the full process to us beforehand. On the two work days that it took for them to complete the job they were on time and sent a big crew of guys to do the work. Everyone who we encountered was polite and respectful of us and our home and they were careful with things like existing bushes. Overall it was clear that ICS took the time to do things right. Our existing roof had been done cheaply by a previous owner, with corners cut and patches done shoddily. ICS removed all the bad patches and installed the new shingles perfectly and quickly. The front of our Victorian home has some unique decorative wood shingles and the crew had to remove some to fix the flashing on the porch roof. The team took the time to individually cut new wood pieces to match the pattern. When we arrived home from work we noticed that actually the pattern was done incorrectly, and after we showed our rep how it should have been done, he had the guys out the next day to remove and re-create the pattern, no questions asked. This meant a lot to us because many companies would argue with you or try to get out of fixing it, but ICS accepted their mistake and quickly and smoothly made it right. With the installation of our skylights, ICS was very careful in cutting the holes in our roof. Although we agreed that their responsibility was only for the outside of the house and that we would be responsible for having someone frame out the inside ceiling around the glass, when we arrived home, we saw that ICS had gone out and purchased wood framing to match the rest of the trim in our house and applied it to the interior frame edges of the skylights. This was totally unexpected and above and beyond what we had even agreed upon. It really seemed like they wanted to please us and put in this extra work to do that. As a final kind gesture, ICS even left us a free pile of roofing shingles and water-guard sheeting for a pet house that we were building. From being extremely easy to communicate with, to being super flexible, to doing high quality work, and to going above and beyond to help us in any way that they could, ICS was an excellent partner, a trusted resource and a team of skilled craftsmen that made our re-roofing project stress-free and successful. We will definitely use them for additional construction projects in the future.

We had a contractor lined up to paint our house last year but the start date kept slipping, then it slipped to the beginning of this year. That wasn't a problem, we weren't in a big rush, but when he didn't respond to calls or emails, it was time to move on. I found ICS by looking at Angie's List. We got a number of quotes from the top rated contractors. No surprise, but there were a lot of Apples-to-Oranges comparisons. One coat vs. two, spray vs. hand painted. One contractor loved a particular brand of paint, the others hated it. It was hard to make a choice. ICS was very knowledgeable, provided a quote when they said they would and, in the end, I made a choice based on their reputation, a fair price (but by no means the cheapest), and a "gut feel". They were in constant communication throughout the job. They couldn't start when they wanted because of rain, but I knew they weren't coming in advance. When they did show up it was sometimes hard to tell they were here: Every day the set up, worked, and cleaned up. The job site was spotless, no ladders left against the house overnight, etc. The job was started when they said it would, they showed up when they said they would and finished when they said they would. I'm very nit picky when it comes to services. Many contractors hate me. I'm OK with that, it's my money and my home. I looked hard to find problems with their workmanship. Their work was nearly perfect. There were a few issues, but not many. When I called, they already knew about most of the ones I pointed out and one I hadn't noticed. They were there the next day to resolve the problems. Of course, every time you walk around you find a little something else. In the end I had called them back three times and they were there the next day to fix the problems. Bottom line. These folks were absolutely professional, they did a first-rate job at a fair price and, were exceptionally responsive and communicative. I highly recommend them.

We live in a 3 unit condo that is an old Victorian style building with steep roof line and little space on one side of the house. Our prior paint job was the least expensive we could get, and it lasted about 7 years. This time around we wanted to do it right. ICS was not the least expensive, but their quote was the most detailed, and it specified allowing time to dry in between priming and two coats of paint. We also had some rotted shingles and porch steps due to past water damage that needed repair. From the prep work of scraping and caulking, to the carpentry work, priming, painting, cleanup after each day, and the final work to close out the job, ICS's crew and foreman were incredibly thorough and even more concerned with quality and details than we might have been ourselves. Although the work took over a month to complete due to rain delays, we appreciated the care they took to ensure that there was sufficient drying time (our last painter had no problems painting right after rain.) The crew kept the work area clean at the end of each day, and were very pleasant. At the end of the job, the foreman gave us an opportunity to walk around and give them a list of items that may have escaped their notice, and then took care of each item. Every condo unit owner is very pleased with the results. It is clear that while the price was not the lowest among the quotes, we got the quality and service that we paid for.

I had worked with a handful of companies to go over the job and get estimates. I had two estimates that were very similar. At the end of the day i decided to go with ICS. My main contact was with Emanuel. He performed the estimate and oversaw the work being done. The job went very well. The team working on the house was pleasant and efficient. Emanuel was very attentive and kept me up to date on the progress. Any questions I had were quickly answered. The result was great! I am very happy with how it all finished up and would recommend it to others.

I called Innovative Contracting for an estimate on my small front and back porches to be scraped and painted. Mike came out at the assigned time and provided me with an estimate a few days later. However, Mike told me a cheaper way to get this work done which was truly amazing - he knew their price was probably a little more than I expected and offered a solution on having it done cheaper. Mike's honesty was just remarkable - he went out of his way to help me with an alternative. I will definitely hire Innovative for painting down the line because of their honesty and they care about their clients - very nicely done ~ Mike.

I took quotes from four companies. Three were highly rated on Angies List. One asked a great deal more money; another, who had done two neighbors' homes only did painting. The fourth company, not well rated on Angies List but sold by earnest college students, asked far less. However, they wanted to spray paint the house and with the carpenter they employed, were pricey. They were too much of a risk. I chose ICS because they worked with me to get a decent contract, they were reasonably priced, and they seemed professional. Once the crew showed up, I was very pleased. The owners, a job supervisor, and foreman speak English. The crew was a nice group of mature Central American men. We loved listening to the one who sometimes sang to himself, but they all seemed to get along well with each other and were very polite. It was a pleasure to have them around. The finished work speaks for itself! The scraped paint around the bushes has been removed (vacuumed and raked). There is not a drip, a paint run, a thin spot, or a missed spot anywhere. The lines are neat. Even the meter that extends from a part with singles to a part of the trim is carefully divided into two colors for camouflage. After all work was finished, the job supervisor and foreman returned for a final inspection. The same day they replaced some clips that hold shutters in place on a windy day that we noticed were missing. The company is very customer service oriented and responsive. I'm pretty pleased right now! !

It didn't go so well but they are making good on it. They are fine to deal with. Their painting was fantastic. They've got a great crew. Their clean up is exceptional after everyday. You get a phone number that they answer every time. They aren't dodging or ducking you. They were very easy to work with and they did a very good job.

Very nice people-the work was done last spring and I was feeling guilty about not giving a review- they did a great repairon the garage that we were not sure could be done.

Make sure to obtain several detailed quotes and don't let cost be the determining factor. Others deck companies told us our footings were fine. ICS was the only one to tell us that the entire deck needed to be demolished, including the footings. We knew the were correct since we had been told this before by a contractor personal friend. Also make sure to ask questions and have the full project explained in full.

When I contacted them, they schedule the appt promptly and showed up on time for the estimate. They seemed professional and courteous. However, they never emailed me the estimate they promised. After about a week, I called them back asking about the estimate. Spoke to one of the owners who had come in person and he said he would check with his partner as he didn't remember this particular property and get back to me. Never heard back. They could have just been honest and said the work (around $2k) was not worth their time.

Emanuel was our main contact throughout the work, he is always very responsive and so helpful with all of my many questions about this big, expensive project. He is very professional, but I also feel like he is a friend now. Our 2 family home needed a new roof, so we decided that we should replace the ugly vinyl siding while we were at it, and also discovered the the rear porch was in no way a safe porch-- it was all rotted and about to fall down. I received several estimates for the work, I asked many questions about all of the estimates, and ICS's seemed to be the most honest and fair, plus with all of the excellent Angies reviews, I felt comfortable moving forward with them. They started with the roof within a week of signing our contract. Emanuel suggested that we just add a second layer of shingles onto the current roof to save us a little money, assuring me that it it totally "normal" to do that. It took them only about a day or two to complete it. A couple of weeks later they started the work on the siding. It started out very quickly, but due to a very rainy forecast during the month of April, some of the work was delayed a bit. Emanuel had great suggestions for adding some detail to the siding. While the work was being done, some cracks formed inside of our aging house, which ICS patched up with no problems. The siding came out really nicely-- our house now looks very solid, and very new.They also rebuilt our rear porch. I was concerned about how much money we were already spending, so ICS did a nice job of keeping the price down for us, and the end result was great-- the porch looks really nice.The entire project took just over two months to complete, it would have been quicker, but like I said, the weather was not so cooperative, which added some delay.Based on the quality of work, the responsiveness and willingness to answer all of my questions patiently, ICS is definitely my go-to company for any new projects that might come up.

I like the way he paints. He does two coats of Benjamin Moore paint. I plan to use him for the work.

The crew started by replacing the rubber roof, which they did in only 2 days. This was quite the project needing a crane and special police pressence during the process. Mike and Emanuel were on site and coordinated everything. As nervous and preoccupied as I was they made it a breeze, and actually e-mailed me pictures during the craning and kept me informed every step of the way. This is one of many things that sets Innovative Contracting apart from other contractors, the constant contact throughout the project. Needless to say the roof looks great and no leaks! Next phase were the windows. I decided to install Harvey Majesty windows (wood/aluminum) which I'm thrilled about. After all the state rebates the cost was right inline with a competitors vinyl windows. The overall look is clean and traditional, a value compared to Pella windows. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a Pella look without the price. The carpenters that installed the windows were very clean and professional. They installed the windows in one unit at a time; it took only three days to finish the entire house. My tenants were very happy with the results and even commented to me how clean and courteous the workers were. Upon the window installation came the larger project, complete exterior siding. Emanuel and Mike suggested fiber cement siding (James Hardie). Previously I had cedar shingles on the house that were rotted and just plain ugly, not to mention a dark brown color! After doing some research of my own I decide to go with Hardie Plank siding. Michael actually coordinated a meeting with a previous customer in Andover who was eager and willing to meet with me and discuss his project. I really appreciated Michael's time and effort to do this given that this project was one of the largest investments I have ever made. Upon meeting with the owner and looking over his home I was more than comfortable with the fiber cement siding and Innovative. The crew started by removing all the old siding and house trim. A lot of debris and dust, but they cleaned up very nicely as usual. Again Mike would send me constant emails and pictures every few days to keep me up to date on the progress. With my hectic work schedule they made it very easy for me. The carpenters worked long hours and even Saturdays to complete the project. The new siding went up in only 3 weeks, right before the cold set in. The final look is beautiful and I'm thrilled with Innovative Contracting. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a contractor.

The project started and progressed as expected. It was delayed a bit by the door not being in stock. So we had to wait for the door to arrive before we could move forward with a lot of the work performed in the bedroom. There were some delays that stemmed from resource scheduling conflicts. This contractor was very easy to work with. Regarding quality when it came to the fine finishing details, I found that I needed to evaluate the work and point out the minor issues to make sure they were addressed. There were some quality issues with some of the finishing work which included the rough spots in the plastering of the walls and the refinishing of the floors. The head contractor, Emanuel, was very professional and responsive. When I pointed these out to Emanuel he promptly made arrangements to have the issues addressed.

We can't say enough good things about ICS and the work they did on the exterior of our house. Their estimate was on target and very fairly priced, they were flexible in accommodating our additional requests, their workmanship was superb (including amazingly thorough prep and repair work), and they met all the challenges presented by a 118-year-old house with loads of detail and dozens of mismatched windows. On top of that, their professionalism was unmatched. The owners checked the site regularly, sent email updates routinely, and were cordial and responsive whenever we had questions and special requests. They maintained a steady schedule in spite of all the rain we had during that period--every day it made sense to paint, they were here! And, finally, saving the best for last, the CREW was outstanding. We were thoroughly impressed with such careful, detailed work done with such precision, efficiency, tidiness, and regard for gardens and shrubbery. At the end of each day (and they worked lo-o-o-ng days), you could hardly tell they had been there, except for the steady progress of the job. Every piece of equipment was reloaded onto the truck, or in the case of the 40` ladders, stacked neatly in an obscure corner of the property. During the prep time, they raked away all the chips and debris. Even as they worked, you hardly knew they were there except for the occasional creak of a ladder or a friendly hello to the dog. It was easy to tell that they enjoyed and took pride in their work. We HIGHLY recommend ICS, and would use them again.

Very pleased with the work, the responsiveness and the final result! We are so pleased, in fact, that we've engaged them to do additional work for us. It's a relief to find a contractor that is honest, does what they say they will and has a commitment to doing things right. Would highly recommend them! Our neighbors have commented on what a nice job ICS did and I am betting that several will have ICS paint their houses next time around.

Prompt and responsive with quote. Automatically included Angie's List discount :). Slight start delay due to severe storm. Did the work fast, professionally, and courteously (according to neighbor). Finished ahead of time. Walls look great! They even cased in a small overhang over the back door at no extra charge. Totally satisfied! We're having them give us a quote on our store front facade. If it's within our budget, we'll definitely re-hire them for the job. If you choose these gentlemen, you will not be disappointed.

Work went very well. Emanuel and Michael were very nice and easy to work with. The main member of the paint crew, Fernando was also very nice and easy to work with as were his coworkers. First they spent 2 whole days just scrapping and scrapping and scrapping. But then we had a lot of rain over the month of August, and it was tough trying to get 5 days of no rain so that the wood would dry out. Emanuel was very good in making sure the house was dry before applying the primer. At one point they were coming on a Wednesday, but I wanted them to wait 2 more days to let the wood really dry out and they were fine with that. They got the whole house painted with primer and then applied over 2 days the 2 coats of paints using name brand Benjamin Moore. In addition, they painted the trim around windows and the gutters and did the extra wood repair we requested. Also the took off the shutters and spray painted them as well. After they were done, it turned out a few tiny extra items needed to be done and even though we paid them in full, Fernando still came back and did the extras. What sold us on them was that the other painters would scrap and apply primer "as needed". These folks did the entire house. Also that they would apply 2 coats of paint, while the other painters would apply just one coat. Finally they also gave us the %10 discount for finding them on Angie's list. We would definitely use them again.

From their reps to their workers, all were excellent . Very responsive to every facet of the job. My house is 120 yrs old and the shingles were not in great shape. They replaced shingles were they had to and tightened up many more. They spent about a week on the prep work more than anticipated and the price did not change. There are plants and bushes and gardens around the property, they covered it all only as long as needed. At the end of every day the clean up was such that you would never know they were there. Called for an estimate on a house we were considering purchasing that needed a new roof. Left a message that was returned same day. They told me they would drive by the house and email me an estimate by the next afternoon, which they did just as they said they would. We ended up not buying the house for multiple reasons, but the service provided by these guys was great.

I had them give an estimate for a roof and exterior painting. They were a pleasure to talk to, and I had the impression they'd be great to work with, but I decided to go with lower bids from other folks who I also liked.

Micheal and Emmanuel came to evaluate our house for a complete roof replacement. We also had some problems with ice dams. M & E suggested some options, including heated wires. They had the lowest bid, especially when factoring in the Angie's list discountl However, we eventually went with another company because they had done the work on my brother's roof. However, I was very comfortable with the energy and professionalism of this team. I would definitely consider using them again.

I received several estimates from different companies for either just removal of the deck and stairs and rebuilding just a small landing and stairs or also for building out a new deck as well. Mike at ICS was on time for the estimate and submitted a thorough breakdown of our options with respect to the deck and rebuilding. We liked their professionalism and the bid was very reasonable, so we went with their company. Mike and Emanuel were in touch with us by email and phone keeping us apprised of the timeline for the project and work was started the day that we expected it to. The workmen at the site were pleasant and kept the area very clean and orderly-each evening we came home to a tidy backyard with neatly stacked materials for the project in progress. Mike or Emanuel were by the house regularly to check in on the workmen. They kept us in the loop on the stages fo the project and the status while awaiting sign-off from the town building inspector. A week of rain delayed the final painting, but they actually pushed and got it painted by Memorial Day weekend so we could enjoy it. The deck feels solid and looks beautiful-we were very happy with their work and would readily reccommend them to friends.

Overall it went fine. I've had a real crap job done so was nervous. They were responsive, fair, and cleaned up well each day. It's hard to oversee a paint job when you have to work during the day, and I found their communications among themselves somewhat lacking. They asked which windows I wanted painted. I responded, you tell me--I can't see the outside of most of them. OK, they said they'd mark the ones needing paint. Next day I'm asked which windows I want painted. I said, you were going to tell me. We worked it out. I wish I'd just had them do all the windows, as others quoted. Now I see some that didn't get done that should have. Only thing that really bothered me was that they damaged shrubs and didn't say anything. I found them weeks later. Too late to bother complaining and they couldn't do anything anyway (plus the winter did even more damage). I'd like to have been told, however. I could have cut them back further or, gee, they could have tied them back. They did a good job, though. I'm not as blown away as some reviewers because I think they did what they should do. That most don't is probably why they seem so good.
