Mike was excellent. I told thim the various things I needed done and told him that he should not try to do them all but rather do as much as he could within the four hours. Despite my saying so, he did all the items that I had on my list and my father-in-law said that he was working constantly and stayed overtime! It is extremely difficult to find such a dedicated, honest and ethical person. Thanks Mike and I apologize for the enormous delay in filling this report!

Mike did a terrifc job and was punctual each time - when he came to quote the work and when he did the actual work.

It went very well compared to some experiences with other handymen. He showed up on time on every scheduled appointment. He did a very thorough estimate, and did relatively high quality work. There were minor gaps, hammer marks, etc. However the covered easily, and I certainly could not have done a better job. I am very picky and would only score an A for quality if the work was flawless and simply amazing, so that's the only reason he got a B there. The price was reasonable, but again, can't give an A unless its a rediculously good deal. After I caulked and painted it looks fantastic!!! I'm so glad we went with him.

Overall it went very well. I have hired him again to do another job.

Our back deck staircase was getting very wobbly and extremely unsafe. We called Mike (left a message) and he called back right away to schedule a visit for an estimate. He was punctual and gave us a very good estimate. I liked the fact that he actually took the time to measure everything before writing up the estimate, unlike the other carpetners who did not even take the time to do so (and gave us much much higher estimates). So we hired him to do the job and he was great! He came on time the day of the job, worked efficiently and stayed right on the estimate. In fact, he finished the job in a day (he initially estimated it to be a 2 day job)! I'd hire him again and again.

Mike was friendly, timely and conscientious. He estimated all materials and labor. He charges $35.00 for a materials run for supplies. He did all work as specified Supplies accounted for about half of the bill. I would hire him again; he is a very good handyman and he did all the work in two full days. I would hire again and refer his services. He does not carry liability insurance should that be a concern.

I highly recommend that fellow members use Mike?s services. All work was completed on time with no surprises; the price quoted to us was the price we paid. Mike showed up at our home on time at 8 am every morning and did not leave until late in the day, sometimes staying late to make sure he would finish the job within the estimated time frame. Mike really takes pride in his work and it shows; the quality of his work is excellent. Above all else, we really felt as though Mike treated our home like it was his own. We plan to have Mike back in the springtime to help us complete some more projects.

I called Mike to look at the job. I had a crazy schedule for a couple of weeks and Mike was very patient and accomodating and responsive in following up to schedule a time to look at the job. We were able to make an appointment finally and Mike came to look at the job. He checked the basement to see what materials we had on hand that he could use/recycle to help keep the cost low. The next morning he called from the store to tell me the estimate cost of the materials and the job. We agreed to go forward. There was a blizzard predicted for the following day, so he purchased the materials and brought them by the house that afternoon. He came the next day promptly. (The snow wasn't that bad.) He worked steadily and finsished the closet exactly as we had agreed upon. Although I hadn't thought to ask the day before, I asked him to hang a mirrror in the room and he agreeably did that too --at a good price as well. Overall, Mike was thorough, honest, easy to work with and efficient. He was responsive and responsible and paid a great deal of attention to exactly what I wanted done. He stayed within his estimate. The carpentry work is lovely, the project was finished just as we'd agreed. I recommend Mike's work and work ethic.

When I bought my house, it came with a newly renovated bathroom. Unbeknownst to me at the time, whoever did that work did a poor job. Within a few months tiles were falling down and water was getting into places it really shouldn't. So, based on the reviews on Angie's List, I called Mike to come and fix the problem. He gave me an excellent price ($280) and did the work quickly and competently. He even scheduled the work around the Christmas Holiday while I was out of town (which meant I didn't have to go without a shower!) The shower is now water tight and as good as new. I highly recommend Mike to anyone in his service area. He's friendly, he charges a fair price and he does good work.

Mike was professional and prompt from the beginning. He arrived, measured the doorways, (which in this old house were very unique sizes and offered recommendations on what to special order for French doors. He offered to pick these up for a small charge (less than the hardware store would have delivered them for) and to gather whatever other materials would be needed. He provided receipts for this and did not upcharge for the additional supplies. To be quite honest, I thought his pricing for what I considered a small project was a bit high, but I heeded my wife's advice to obtain his services and I am glad I did. He obviously knows his craft and it shows. The first two doors went relatively smoothly with some trimming and shimming needed. Three weeks later when the rest of the special order doors came in was a different story. The first door took him 5 hours to get in!! The house has settled and he could have just thrown it up but he refused to back down on quality! He cut, trimmed, leveled and installed and re-installed until it was perfect! The second door went a bit easier but still was way more work than either of us suspected. The 3rd door was difficult as well. Mike arrived at 8am and didn't leave until 10pm that night!!!!! He worked non-stop and are you ready for this? HE HONORED HIS PRICE QUOTE EVEN THOUGH IT TOOK HIM 14 HOURS TO FINISH!! It was not even a question for him to do so. His word is his bond and that is a rare quality these days. I know I would have grown frustrated with the whole process and either given up or done a poor job, but not him. I have a few other projects that will be ongoing and will most definitely have him back. Thanks Mike!

I needed to get repairs done to my house prior to closing. Mike managed to fit me in between other jobs he had. He explained everything and did excellent work. Highly recommended!

After working with Mike previously, we had him come back to do some more work on our condo. Mike, with help with his employee George, spent the day working together on our condo. The work was top notch and both Mike and George were great to work with. They worked all day and cleaned up their when they were finished. They also came in with a great price that we were happy with. We plan on using Mike's company again in the future to do some more work on our condo...we couldn't be happier with our experience with it.

Mike was exactly on time, completed the project quickly and the doors were installed perfectly. Couldn't ask for more.

I left a message with Mike and received a call back the same day for an estimate to install drop down stairs into our attic. Mike scheduled an in-home estimate for early the next week and arrived on time (despite painful dental work the previous day and encouragement on our part to reschedule!). He had the experience we hoped for evidenced by his thorough description of the installation and materials he would need. His estimate ($350 labor, $150 materials) was several hundred less than another carpenter who quoted us so the job was scheduled for following week. That morning Mike arrived with his assistant right on time. He completed the work in half the time estimated and the finished product is beautiful. Mike is responsive, courteous and professional. We were very pleased with his attention to detail and anticipate using him for future jobs/repairs.

Mike was easy to get a hold of and came out soon after speaking with him. He brought his associate, George with him to give us an estimate. We were pleased with the price he quoted us and was able to fit us in within a week of the quote. George came out to do the work and we are very happy with the job he did. The closet came out great and the bathroom looks new again. He even caulked our tub for us. We have some other work around our condo that we want done and we plan on using them again. We couldn't be more pleased with our experience with Handyman Specialists.

Mike came with a helper and got the job done very efficiently. Pulled out existing light and fan unit, found the studs, secured and hooked up the microwave oven to the cabinets over the stove. Took a little over two hours, all straight labor. Electrical work had been done previously. I highly recommend Mike for any type of job available.

My inquiry for a quote got a quick response from Mike. He was able to accommodate my work schedule by meeting me after work to provide the estimate. The estimate he gave me was reasonable (around $200) and he explained what would need to be done including pointing out that one of the treads on the stairs (cement on top of bricks) was completely detached and would need to be reattached. In looking at the 2 leaking faucets in the bathroom, it was determined the hot water could be shut down at the sink until the washers could be replaced. He stated ideally the washers on all the taps would be replaced at the same time for even wear time. I agreed with this. I had been interested in also having a garbage disposal installed. He was up front about being able to install one, but that I would need to engage an electrician for part of the work. I chose not to pursue this at this time as it is not a critical need. He told me when his first available day was for doing the work. It was about 30 days out, but I liked his professional manner and how forthcoming he had been. He reconfirmed the date & time a week in advance & again the day before. He told me he had recently hired someone to work with him, and they would both be working on my projects, but that the price would not change. They arrived on time. Both projects were completed within 3 hours. Mike and George were both unobtrusive and cleaned up the areas they had been working in. Mike provided useful hints about maintenance for both the faucets and stairs. I'm quite pleased with the work they both did.

Mike called to confirm that he was coming out to perform the agreed upon work a few days prior to the installation. He showed up right on time and proceeded to do the installation. I was very impressed with his professionalism, his punctuality, as well as the actual window installation. While he was onsite we talked about some other projects at a later time. Mike was a pleasure to work with and I look forward to working with him again.

It went very well. He showed up when he said he would and was very pleasant and professional to deal with. We would highly recommend him.

Our back deck needs to be repaired. I called Mike, he picked up the phone himself right away and schedule the estimation. He came over within a couple of days and sent back the estimation over e-mail next day. He came over to work as scheduled, exactly on the day which he promised. At first, I thought only the stair and other small area needs to be replaced, but we found a lot more rotten wood after some boards were removed. He spent an extra half day to repaired them all. He did a great job. He is very pleasant, courteous, honest and hard working. He also did a very good clean up after finishing his job. I am not sure if his charge is good or excellent since I didn't get any other estimation. We are certainly very happy about his work. He is very honest. Since we pay for the materials (the price $2275 includes the materials), he went over the invoice item by item, and gave us the receipt to return some unused materials.

When I originally talked with Mike about this project he said he was booked for several months, however he luckily had a cancellation and fit us within a few weeks. He came on-time when scheduled and called us the night before to confirm. His work was neat and exactly what we had discussed. This was our second time using his services and would definitely call him again.

Mike was terrific. He came out to give me an estimate on the job within a couple of days of my initial call to him. He had warned me that he wouldn't actually be able to do the work for about a month and a half as he was fully booked. I told him that I could be flexible and he should feel free to squeeze me in if he had a cancellation. About a week later, I got a call from him that he did, indeed, have a cancellation and he came over to do the work. He was very professional, called me the night before to confirm and called me the morning of to let me know that he was on his way -- I really appreciated this communication. He did a great job and charged me what he had quoted me. He also gave me the receipt for the materials that he had purchased and I paid for those without him adding any markup to them. I would definitely use Mike again and would highly recommend him to others.

Mike is outstanding. He is easy going and explains everything he is going to do in just enough detail. He was punctual and when he thought he would be even 10 minutes late, he called to let me know. He did a great job on the wall and the solution was far less expensive than I thought it would be due to his creativity. As a result, I intentionally overpaid him to thank him for his extremely prompt attention in solving my problem. When I got home from work, I saw Mike left the extra money on my kitchen table with a note saying to have a drink on him. He is honest and reliable and I would use his services again in a heartbeat.

Mike was prompt in setting up appt., friendly and professional. Decided to go with masonry company just to feel a little more secure in work (lots needed to be done). Although I went with mason for this job, will definitely use Mike on other home repair projects.

Very good. Mike arrived in the a.m.. I gave him the instructions, showed him where I wanted the items hung in the various room, reviewed the list. He left to pick up some supplies, returned timely and finsihed the job in about six hours. He did a good and thorough job. I was very pleased. It is so hard to find a good and dedicated handy man with a strong work ethic and client focus.
