Connolly Floors

I hired Jack Connolly based on the reviews on Angies List and on his responsiveness to my initial phone call. Jack is professional in every way. He was easily accessible by phone, kept to the established schedule and explained clearly what the job entailed. Also, he is a "heck of a nice guy." Floors look fantastic. Superior job and we hope to rehire to do our upstairs.

Great! Time was an issue and they came through with flying colors. They did a great job.

Connolly floors did a great job for us. Jack is amicable and was always available by phone when I called him throughout the job. He did miss our original appointment to quote the job, but he made up for it by providing good workmanship on short notice with a tight schedule. We bought the house in early November and needed the work done within 3 weeks before we moved in. He sanded the existing and put the first coat on in 1 day. He then came back two other times to apply the additional coats. The new installation took 2 days. We've been on the floors now for a month - they look great, we'll be enjoying them for a long time.

Connolly Floors did an excellent job. I got four estimates and their estimate was less than half of the others, so I was hesitant. However, the floors came out beautiful and flawless. The workers came on time and were courteous. They put a plastic tarp over the doorways of the rooms they were working on. They cleaned up very well, and left almost no dust.

I got Jack's number off of Angie's List because of the glowing reports that I read. I called Jack the day before Thanksgiving to set up an appointment to come to the house to discuss what I wanted done. I figured maybe he wouldn't come until the following week. To my surprise he said he would come the day after Thanksgiving. He came with his assistant Wayne at the time that was promised. They were both very friendly and listened to everything I had to say. Jack called me later that day as he promised with a quote and we set up a date for the work to be done. The work was going to take 3 days. On the first day, Wayne and Randy came promptly in the morning. They were both very friendly, and let me tell you, they worked their butts off. They never even stopped for lunch. They did each day until the job was finished. On the last day, Jack's nephew Al came and was just as friendly and worked just as hard as the others. Anyone who is reading this report, if you need your floors refinished, or whatever your needs are, call these guys. They are professional, and they know what they are doing. I wouldn't give it a second thought to hire these guys in the future. It's refreshing to see someone who works hard and takes pride in their work. Jack's got some great guys working for him.

Jack arrived promptly to give us an estimate. His price was very fair and we were comfortable with his explanation and recommendations. He was able to squeeze us in and started work about 10 days after the estimate. Because we needed to get some cable installed at the same time, Jack had to split his work days and accomodated us. To finish the job to fit the original schedule, he even did some work on a Sunday. We were very pleased with the results and our floor looks great. We highly recommend him and would use his service again without hesitation.

Very professional. No dust produced. Mr. Connelly and his staff were professional, friendly, and punctual. We plan on calling them back a few times to do all of our floors. Overall, we feel that their services were very high quality and a very good value.

This company and the owner did a fabulous job on our floors. The work they accomplished was outstanding. We had them do an estimate first, which came back very reasonable. We hired them and they responded quickly and got on the job right away. The workers provided the grunt work of moving furniture for us so we didn't have to worry about it. The owner was very good about listening to my concerns and being attentive to addressing those concerns. He is a very caring and decent guy. We also chose him based on all the great comments and recommendations he received from members on Angie's List. In addition to the floors, he noticed my front step needed repaired and took the responsibility of fixing it for us. This company went above our expectations and we highly recommend them. If we have any other rooms that we need work, we will call this company.

Jack Connolly and two employees refinished (glossed/placed top coating on) hardwood floors which were already in fair/good shape from sanding 2-3 years ago by prior owners of our home. Because we splattered paint on the floors while giving the place a bit of a face lift, some buffing and sanding was required. In fact, more buffing and sanding was required than we (or Jack) expected. Jack did not raise his quoted price and though he stated that he couldn't get all of the paint off, we were very impressed with the outcome. Jack was more critical of his own work than we were. The floors were gleaming and we already have received compliments. I would recommend provider to anyone in search of friendly, honest service and exceptional results.

Jack gave me the best of 3 quotes. He was punctual and began the project within the week.

Contacted three firms to get estimates three weeks before work was to begin; one canceled their appointment but I was pleased enough with the two other quotes that I didn't follow up with the third firm. Connolly was the lowest priced bidder, the most flexible, and the most re-assuring that they could meet our schedule - closing on new home on Monday, starting work on a Tuesday, allowing for enough time for a painter to paint a few rooms after the work was completed, and then moving into home the following Monday. So, they had a three or four day window to get the work done and nailed it. They advised us on stains, provided samples, and were generally accomodating at every turn. The guys showed up on time, the finished floors looked great and were finished on time as promised.

Jack came out to give us an estimate, we recently moved to a new home and wanted carpeting torn out of the family room and old linoleum removed from the kitchen. Jack was very friendly and professional. The work was done promptly and looks great.

He was excellent. He did a really great job, and it was a lot of hard work. We had five layers of floors, and he did it all at a reasonable price. I was very happy with him.

The work went very well. We chose Jack from a short list of people we got from Angie's list. His estimate was in the middle, but he was the only person who was willing to take on the stairs as part of the job. Because we have animals and were not willing to move out for the duration, we needed to stage the work so that one bedroom was always occupied. Jack was fantastic with this! He worked with us to time the steps to make it happen. It took a few days longer than expected, but he came in on the weekend to keep it on track. Unlike other contractors I've dealt with, Jack showed up every single day that he said he would even in the middle of a snow storm. This was highly appreciated since my husband and I took vacation for this project. We have more floors to complete in the next year or two and I am pretty sure we will be working with Jack.

The first time we used them, he was perfect, wonderful, and everything was great. This time though I don t think he listened to us or understood what we needed as clearly, but I would still hire them again if needed.

We had a great experience with Jack. He is very professional and the result is great!!! Also, after removing the carpet he discovered broken stairs. He charged us very reasonably to fix the stairs and did not use this surprise to his benefit. He came every day and even on the weekend to finish the work on time. We are very pleased!!!!!

It went excellent. The quality of their work was good. They arrived on time. They cleaned up after themselves when they were done. Their estimated time of being done was correct.

We found Connolly Floors on Angie's List and were happy with the results. We had a short time window from when we closed on the house to when we were scheduled to move, and they were able to accommodate our timing -- they came out to give us an estimate, showed us stain color samples, started the work, and finished the work quickly. Their responsiveness was excellent. They were even able to refinish a stair railing to match the new floors.

Jack arrived right on time to look at the job and gave us the estimate the same day that we called him. This was a Monday. He told us he would start the work on Wednesday and would be finished on Friday. He and his helper arrived right on time and got right to work. They sanded and applied one coat on Wednesday and returned Thursday and again Friday to buff the floors and apply the second and third coats. Both Jack and Randy were professional and personable. He assured us the floors would look great and he made good on his promise! They look great. I would not only have him do work for us again but would highly recommend him to others. They cleaned up thoroughly.

The floors in this house were worn, but high quality oak had been used. The first floor was done in parquet and there were a few places where small boards had to be replaced. Jack gave us a very reasonable bid and clearly understood what had to be done to restore the floors. The heating system in the house (necessary for curing of the polyurethane) was being replaced, and Jack really worked hard to adjust his schedule to accommodate the work being done on the boiler. The job entailed a lot of hand sanding on the stairs, which was done very well, and all the people working on the job did excellent work. Afterwards, the floors looked fabulous. Jack was always where he said he'd be, when he said he'd be there. He and his crew worked weekends, even holidays to get the job done. I was very impressed and would hire him again.

Jack arrived promptly at the appointment time. He was very knowledgeable and helpful in determining the proper flooring for the room. The sub-floor is concrete so he pointed us in the direction of engineered hardwood. Jack was terrific, and I would recommend him to others. However, we went with another company that could finance the flooring and had a lifetime guarantee.

Excellent. She says they were neat, courteous, did really good work and gave her a very fair price. The whole job was done in three days as was their estimate.
