Description of Work: Two sets of oak stairs, halls and our master bed room in our 150 yo house. |Scraped around all ballistrades and brought our oak floors back to life. |Overall a good job. Even came back to touch up a section. Slightly lower rating because of sanding marks in a few stair treads. Not catastrophic. |Will definitely use them again.

Description of Work: Mr Conolly came came at the arranged time and assessed my problem and told me that the current finish on my floor was no longer being used. A revarnishing would make the situation worse and a partial refinishing of the floor would also be ineffectual. Even though he was not being paid, he spent a lot of time with me going over my options. I was impressed with his knowledge and candor and would definitely use his services if I had the option to refinish the whole room.

Description of Work: I didn't end up using Connolly Floors but my interactions with them were excellent. They were very friendly on the phone, answered all of my questions, gave me what I felt like was honest advice, and provided me with a competitive quote in a prompt fashion. I had a specific window in which I could get my floors done between tenants and they were not available on those dates, but otherwise I would have seriously considered using their services.

Description of Work: Jack Connolly and his workers did a spectacular installation of my hardwood floor in my kitchen and matched it perfectly to the refinishing he did on my dining area. The job was difficult at times due to the uneven surfaces from the dining area to kitchen area, however he came up with the solution. I would recommend his company to anyone, and his price was below any others I could have picked. I still have my Living room and hall area for him to do very soon, it was supposed to be done in a couple of weeks or so, however he pushed it up to this week because my son is coming home from the hospital in a week or two.

Description of Work: I just joined Angie's list after debating for years to join. My husband and I are in the process of purchasing our first home together (we each owned a condo when we met and just recently sold mine). After doing some research one night, I narrowed down a hand full of contractors for my husband and I to contact based upon the Angie's List reviews. My husband contacted Jack on July 5th to set up an appointment for Saturday, July 9th at 11AM. My husband called Jack just before 11:30am when he hadn't showed up to see if he was running late. Jack was a NO SHOW, NO CALL. If there was some confusion on the time or date, he could have at least had the common courtesy to return my husband's call. Someone else will be getting our business now.

 + -1 moreWe were very, very happy with the work that Jack and his crew did on the floors. They had not been refinished in quite some time and now look brand new! We had just closed on our condo and wanted to have the floors redone before moving in. We called Jack on short notice, and he was able to refinish the floors during the holidays, while we were on vacation. We came home to see a job well done. We recommend Connolly Flooring with no hesitation.
Description of Work: Sanding and refinishing of h/w floors throughout our new flat. 850sq ft of living space was sanded, though that does not include the closet floors, which are also h/w, which Connolly also sanded and refinished.

 + -1 moreJACK CONNOLLY DID A WONDERFUL JOB REFINISHING THE HARDWOOD FLOORS; THAT GO THROUGH OUR ENTIRE 3000 SQUARE FOOT HOUSE. WE HAD JUST BOUGHT THE HOUSE, SO IT WAS ENTIRELY EMPTY, MAKING THE JOB A BIT EASIER. HE WAS WONDERFUL RESERVING THE TIME TO DO THE JOB, AND THEN CHECKING BACK TO SEE WHERE OUR PAINTERS WERE IN THEIR WORK; AND WHEN HE COULD ACTUALLY GET IN. HE WORKED WHILE THE PAINTERS WERE IN THE HOUSE, WORKING ON ONE LEVEL AND THEN ANOTHER. HE ALSO WORKED WITH ME TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO WITH THE STAIRS THAT WERE HAND SANDED, BUT STILL SHOWED SIGNS OF FADING (TWO COLORS...HE USED SOME VARNISH TO MATCH THE COLORS). WHEN WE DECIDED WE DID NOT LIKE THE SATIN FINISH ON THE MAIN LEVEL, HE OFFERED A VERY FAIR PRICE TO PUT ONE MORE COAT ON. FINALLY, HE WAS VERY NEAT, CLEANING UP THE SAWDUST FROM THE JOB AND LEAVING THE PLACE PRISTINE. OUR RECOMMENDATION FOR HIM HAD BEEN FROM PEOPLE WHO WENT ON VACATION AND LET HIM DO THE FLOORS. I CAN SEE WHY THEY TRUSTED HIM.
