Working with Jeff was great. He was responsive and easy to communicate with (text and email, as well as an occasional phone call). His estimate for the work was very reasonable, and while he did not perform the work himself, the person he used with us was professional and courteous.

The most amazing thing about Jeff is that he has responded quickly every single time I contacted him, whether by e-mail, phone or text. We've talked dozens of times over the course of this job and he's great. His crew is loyal and some have been with him for 20 years, which is testimony to the quality of his operation. The job is almost done and it has gone very well, we're very happy with the quality of the work and how it has turned out and looking forward to crossing the last item off the punch list. We would definitely hire Jeff and team again!
Description of Work: Jeff and team were the lead contractor for a substantially complete remodel of our first floor, including 2 baths, the kitchen, dining room, 3 bedrooms and hallways.

I purchased a Big Deal with them for $250 for $500 Credit Toward a Complete Gut and Remodeling of a Bathroom. When he came out for the estimate, he was very kind and professional. The total cost of the project ended up being a little more than I expected, so I have decided not to go forward with it at this time.

We are absolutely satisfied with the work. Workmanship and materials were all first class, and work was completed in a timely fashion. Jeff and his crew (Elvis is the best!) have our highest recommendation.

Jeff was extremely prompt in his communication--and that is not something to take for granted. Unfortunately, he was booked for several months out, and I need the job done sooner. Next time I have a job that can wait, I am definitely contacting Jeff, based on his reputation and timely communication.

Overall I am very happy with the job it came out great. It was hard for a little while without a tub/shower but Jeff and his plumber made quick work to at least give us a working tub in about a week. The crew always left the house very clean even during the demo time. We did get out fixtures and tiles from Jeff's suppliers and are very happy with the results and quality of the products. We did have a couple little issues but Jeff and his crew took the tme to listen to our needs and got eveything in order. We still have one last inspection left before the job is completed but I see no reason to worry about it being done. I would nit hesitate using Jeff in the future and probaly will for other remodels we have in mind.

First, Jeff came to give us the initial consultation. He's extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and gave us very helpful design tips. He was thorough and prompt with his estimate, offered recommended vendors and tips for picking fixtures and finishes, and was rapidly responsive by phone and email every step of the way. His team was also extremely professional. They put down floor covering throughout the house and left the bathroom clean every day during their work. We were often not home and never once questioned the safety of them being in our home (with our dog) every one of them was extremely conscientious. And the work is beautiful. We couldn't be happier with the bathroom. Right down to every detail, they didn't cut any corners and did everything the right way. We went to town with this bathroom with what was, for us, a giant budget - with lots of nice fixtures and glass tile, etc. We were skeptical of costs going in, and got other comparable bids. Were so happy we went with Jeff. The professionalism and quality of work was worth every penny. We wholeheartedly recommend him and hope to someday bring him back to redo our kitchen.
Description of Work: Jeff and his team fully renovated our bathroom - down to the studs - and installed a tub and shower head, toilet, vanity and sink, tile, toilet, etc. Beyond a renovation, Jeff also recognized opportunities to improve the layout, relocating some vents that allowed our ceiling to be raised, and relocating the tub drain, and removing a wall to give the bathroom a brighter, more open feel.

Jeff is a very experienced contractor. He brought in a 2-man team to "demo" the existing tub and floor, and put wood framing up in order to move the plumbing and provide structure for the wall and tile. His team also had to rip out a portion of the ceiling in order to move the plumbing. Demo took one or two days. The men worked non-stop and were very protective of our hardwood and rugs. Next the plumber came (Lentz Plumbing) and installed a copper basin and moved the plumbing from one wall to another. Excellent job. Very professional. Jeff sent an electrician over to remove the electric service that had powered the spa tub. Then Jeff's tile crew returned and installed the tile on both the floor and in the shower and in the toilet enclosure. Good, careful work. Looks nice. One of the workers patched the ceiling, however it did not match the existing ceiling. I called jeff, who returned my call very quickly. He made arrangements to send over an experienced plaster person. The man Jeff sent was an artist. He did a wonderful job. One cannot tell that there was a repair done at all. Looks great. Finally the glass company arrived to install the shower door and enclosure. Also looks great. Very chic. My husband and I are pleased with the remodel from tub to tile shower and glass. It should be noted that no work was performed on the sink or the vanity or the toilet--only the tub area and the tiling. Our bathroom is like a Roman bath now, a true monument! We gave Jeff a B for price because we were surprised at a couple prices--some of the stone pieces in the shower and the glass enclosure--and felt we shouldn't have been surprised at all. It is partly our fault for not asking more probing questions. It would likely have not changed our choices, but it would have softened the blow. We would definitely call on Jeff Viglia again for a remodel on other rooms in our home.
Description of Work: Provider was asked to replace existing spa tub with a shower with a bench, tiled floor to ceiling, tile on bathroom floor and around toilet enclosure. Design required glass enclosure and hinged door.

We found Jeff through Angie's List and from our first contact with Jeff, it was clear that his level of communication with clients was impressive. Jeff was very upfront with his past experience and jobs, the process and timeline for the job, and the quality of work we could expect. From beginning to end, Jeff has maintained appointments and the people that work with Jeff always showed up when expected and reflected Jeff's level of professionalism and commitment to clients. There were very few delays with building permits or inspections, other than a few lost days because the single town inspector for one aspect of our project was on vacation, which was out of everyone's control. I am not sure if Jeff sleeps, because he runs his business like a well-oiled machine, with multiple parts coming into play and he does it really well. When Jeff tells you that something is going to be done, it is. I can admit that my wife and I have high expectations and expect people to treat our home as they would treat their own mother's home. Jeff and his crew met these expectations and on each and every day, our home was left organized and as close to the way we left it as possible. As with any home project, things come up that need to be addressed, changed, or corrected. On each and every occasion, Jeff personally handled the changes, spending large amounts of time with us to discuss anything that came up and made sure we were happy with the outcome. Throughout the process, Jeff always responded to our questions, sometimes in minutes. Whether it was a phone call, a text, or email, his prompt response was something we only could have dreamed of in a contractor. During the project, we were away for two separate trips of two weeks and one week. We were obviously a little tentative about be away during the project, but Jeff always kept us in the loop and always responded when we asked for an update. On one occasion, I sent a text to Jeff as I was boarding a flight home on a Saturday afternoon and Jeff answered the question in less than two minutes! The project also moved right along while we were away. We are very happy with the finished project and plan to have Jeff back in our home for future projects. We have two beautiful new bathrooms of high quality craftsmanship and I cannot imagine many other remodeling companies doing a better job.

All of the work was done to accommodate our schedule. All workers were very friendly, professional and cleaned the area each night. Subcontractors were reliable and pleasant. Subcontractor schedules were well coordinated. We provided the tiles, accessories, vanity and toilet. Jeff was always available by phone/email and responded in a timely manner. Final bill was exactly what Jeff had estimated.

Response from Veglia Remodeling LLC
Hi [member name removed], 1st off I would like to say my estimate for your new bathroom was $19,687.00. Average bathroom estimates regardless of size is $16,000-$20,000. I told you at that time changing a tub to a shower takes more prep, plumbing and time. Your floor had to be re-framed and reinforced. I gave you a very fare price and did want to do your job. Sometimes we need to educate ourselves on what we are trying to do before criticizing other people on what they know and do for a living. Sincerely, Jeff

Between purchase of our home in mid April and a lease move out date in late June, we only had two months to do a major overhaul of our home, including new structural elements for a cathedral ceiling, complete kitchen demo / new installation, and various other projects around the house. The day we closed on the purchase Jeff and team were at the house starting the kitchen demo! They got almost everything done by move-in date (and the remaining few items were finished a week later), this despite some unforeseen delays on the engineering side. We had never undertaken anything like this remodeling project before and with a very short window, we're so pleased we chose Jeff and his team. Jeff is always responsive and extremely helpful in explaining the process during each step. And we're thrilled with the results. We can't recommend Jeff and team highly enough!
Description of Work: Jeff and his team did a complete remodel of our kitchen, living room, and dining room, including the structural work needed for a cathedral ceiling. Additional work included refinishing hardwood floors, installation of tile floor in lower level, installation of central A/C system, installation of two new windows, painting in all rooms, various plumbing work in kitchen and downstairs bathroom, and electrical work throughout the house.

Jeff had previously done two bathrooms and a kitchen upgrade in a previous house we lived in which we were very happy with. This project included the demolition and rehab of our kitchen and bathroom and adding a 1/2 bathroom from a closet space. At the same time , Jeff reconfigured some interior space to create a walk in closet for the master bedroom and did upgrades of interior trim and woodwork throughout the house. He coordinated his work with an air conditioning contractor who installed central A/C during the project. Jeff did a great job planning and coordinating the work to minimize disruption. My wife and I actually chose to stay in the house during the work and he and his crew were very respectful of our privacy. He has an experienced group of people who definitely know what they are doing and get along well with each other. Jeff and his crew checked with me on a regular basis about placement and design of particular items. We had a general layout in mind but finalized it with Jeff after the walls were opened up. I worked with Jeff Shaffer Woodworking for the kitchen cabinets, who works with Jeff Veglia regularly. The space turned out beautifully. The tile work in both bathrooms and kitchen is meticulous, the woodworking and cabinet detail is of the highest quality. Because our house was built in 1920, the carpenters, plumber and electrician needed to do a lot of work to get everything lined up and in the right place, which they did. I would highly recommend Jeff Veglia for any interior renovation. He has the highest quality standards and is completely honest in his dealings. You know that you will have an excellent job in the end and that things will go smoothly.
Description of Work: Jeff did a complete remodeling of a kitchen and bathroom, created a half bathroom out of a closet space and did extensive interior finish upgrades. The kitchen included pantry and mud room and the bathroom included a walk in shower and whirlpool tub.

From the first day to the last day, it was an excellent experience. After introducing themselves, the workers proceeded to cover our wood floors and protect the surfaces. They did the demo without making an incredible mess. The construction, inspections and all aspects of the job were professional at the highest level. There was communication almost every day and Jeff, in particular, was easy to contact. Two years ago we had our kitchen completely remodeled with a different contractor, and it was a continuous struggle despite his good references. This time we were apprehensive, in part because of the prior experience, and in part because we picked Jeff from Angie's list without knowing anyone who had used him. Best decision we ever made. Jeff communicated very well, often responding within an hour of a call or email. He listened to our wishes and understood our budget needs. His long-term colleague, Elvis, was at the house every day and did a lot of the work. It was a great experience. We have another bathroom to do (old house) and will only ask Jeff Veglia to do the work.
Description of Work: Jeff and his workers installed a new tiled shower in what was formerly only a master bedroom powder room (toilet + sink). They removed two adjoining closets to construct space for the new shower. They also removed old vanity, installed new pedestal sink & faucets. Two new closets were built in the bedrooms to replace those used for the shower. New spaces were tiled or painted as needed.

Excellent overall. Fairly priced -- middle of the pack. On schedule. Responsive and accommodating to our timing and restrictions. Kept the place as neat as possible. Flexibly adapted to our requested modifications in the middle of the job -- let us know what was feasible and not feasible, and helped us to think about the potential costs of options. Deftly managed minor hiccups (e.g., no one's fault, but an old pipe burst during the initial excavation, with some minor water damage to basement below, and they fully resolved and repaired and restored without additional expense; another example: for unexplainable reasons, they blue-boarded and plastered over a ceiling a/c duct. When we realized it -- when we thought all work was completed -- they swiftly came back and resolved the problem. Another example: initial installation of granite countertops seemed great, then there was some "settling", which apparently sometimes happens. Jeff and his subs returned to resolve the issue without question. We have no question that Jeff will stand behind his work for months and probably years to come. When we next consider remodeing/renovating, we will go with Jeff unhesitatingly.
Description of Work: Complete Renovation of our 1st Floor Kitchen: Demo kitchen to studs. Keep same layout. Build extension of wall to accommodate bigger fridge. Remove post on corner of kitchen if not structural to allow for cabinets to wrap around. Plumbing consists of disconnecting existing. two sinks; gas stove; two dishwasher; icemaker; garbage disposal, . Install rough electrical consisting of disconnecting existing. two dishwasher; garbage disposal; GFI circuits; gas stove; wall oven; hood; microwave; switches; 12- 4 inch led recessed lights, two toe kick heaters, Under cabinet lights; radiant floor heat; one panel upgrade; fridge. Install insulation in outer walls of kitchen. Install blueboard and plaster on walls and ceiling of kitchen. Install subfloor for tile. Install tile floor with grout. TBD Install new cabinets. Vent hood. Install tile backsplash in kitchen. Patch affected wood floor areas if necessary Install finish carpentry, electrical, and plumbing. Paint kitchen. Dispose of all debris. NOTE: Cost does not include cabinets (for that, we paid $30K to Jeff's close colleague E and E Designs, Ed Cotton, nor does it include appliances and plumbing fixtures, all of which cost another ~$20k. (I mention this note to help others planning a remodel...the work of this general contractor was about half of our total expense for remodeling.)

Jeff told me this was a big job. I can honestly say it never once felt like it. From the first day Jeff and his crew were on top of everything. They started promptly at 7:30 every morning. The site was clean at the end of each day. If they wanted to store something in the garage or needed a place to make a mess outside they always asked . Even during the course of such a big job they were behaved like guests in our house always thinking about not inconveniencing us. Jeff made great suggestions to minimize upfront costs. He explained why one option would be better than another. He accommodated us when we used our own suppliers and sent us to his when needed. He really ensured we got the project completed as we wanted. His crew paid special attention to that detail noting when we could deviate if we so chose to. All of his sub-contractors and workers are craftsman and the tile professional we worked with is an artist. He made the paper design work to perfection. He would lay it all out, show it all to me, answer my questions, and did he ever put in a full days work. I think he rarely if ever stopped for breaks. With a remodel, Jeff and his crew took special care to minimize any disruption to the rest of the house. Needing to re-locate the washer / dryer from the first to second floor they spent time to analyze where the plumbing was and how to route it by simply opening a downstairs closet. They located a steam unit, electrical, etc., with no repair needed to the first floor. We greatly valued and appreciated that special attention to minimize repair and disruption. The best complement I can give is that his crew and his sub-contractors are problem solvers and a pleasure to deal with. Even with a newer house you just never know what you'll find. Whenever there was a question on how to approach something I was provided with multiple options or an explanation on why something had to be done a certain way. If I had a suggestion they listened and were genuinely pleased to have a homeowner take an interest in them and the quality of their work. Every step of the way Jeff's crew completed what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it. On that rare occasion where they weren't going to be here they called. If they were going to come on Saturday they asked first. All the work was completed when they said it would be. I would call Jeff again for any project.
Description of Work: The entire master bathroom and closet was remodeled and a 2nd floor laundry room was created in an unused master bedroom area. The upstairs hallway was changed to provide access to the laundry room and hardware floors were installed in the upstairs hallway. The project included re-layout of plumbing, electrical, wall framing, plaster, tile, finish carpentry, and careful demolition of adjoining areas.

The highlight of working with Jeff Veglia was his responsiveness to inquiries we had as the work went along. A couple of times we had concerns and sent him emails which he replied to very quickly. He coordinated all his workers and subcontractors so someone came in every day and we were able to get both bathrooms done in our short time frame. They showed up when they said they would, listened to our requests, made helpful suggestions and generally reduced the stress of a major renovation for us. We would not hesitate to recommend Jeff Veglia as he seems to be truly interested in doing a good job and has a great group of employees.
Description of Work: Demo to studs 2 bathrooms and ceiling below. Replaster ceiling below. One bathroom remodeled with walk in shower, tiled walls, ceiling and floor; the other bathroom has a tub with tiled surround and shower. Relocate heating vents in both bathrooms, add exhaust fans, new placement of electrical and lights.

When we called Jeff, we were at our wit's end. We had hired a different contractor in May and by November our small 3/4 bath was still not done. The prior contractor had no control over his subs and the work they did was amateurish at best. We fired the contractor, and found Jeff Veglia on Angie's List. As soon as Jeff was involved, we felt like the grown-ups had finally arrived to take charge. He listened to us, worked with us in a collaborative way and had the best sub ever- Elvis. They came when they said, they cleaned up, they made suggestions and the end result was the bathroom came out better than it would have had we stuck to our original plan. We only wish we had used him first. We would not hesitate to hire him again for any job. He was professional in every aspect and we highly recommend him.

Clear communication and showed up promptly at scheduled times, usually 10-15 minutes before the appointed time. The tile work was simple, but clear attention to detail. Noticed one shortcoming with the work, and he had his crew come back out to fix it. Just goes to show the company takes pride in its work and stands behind their finished product. Jeff handled the matter professionally and promptly. An example to the contracting industry. My project was a textbook example of how things should be done.

While we did not end up using Veglia for our remodeling, our experience with him was excellent. They got back to us very quickly, set up an appointment for a few days later, and showed up on time. Once here, Jeff Veglia was friendly and professional. He listened, asked questions to be clear on everything, answered all our questions and explained our options and possible variations once the job commenced. Afterwards, he got an estimate back to us very quickly. Honestly, we pretty much came down to a coin flip between Veglia and another contractor. The initial impression Veglia made was very good.

I got an estimate from Jeff and another contractor. Jeff's estimate was actually higher than the other person's but it was obvious to me from my interactions that Jeff was sharper and likely to do better work. The whole process of getting estimates made me want to select him. The experience went exactly as I had hoped. Jeff proposed a layout and design for the bathroom and took ownership of the process. He asked me to pick out tiles and amenities and he took care of the rest. To his great credit, Jeff did a superb job with the layout. I would say that his eye for design impressed me the most. For example, he suggested that we add a skylight to the bathroom which ended up being one of the nicest features of the bathroom! The whole look of the bathroom and the attention to detail ended up superbly. Jeff's crews were professional and cleaned up after themselves. Jeff is a tiler by trade and his craftsmanshp shone through the project. Customers should note that Jeff's vendors and prices may be higher than other people. As I mentioned, I had lower bids but was more interested in high quality. When I proposed buying a vanity from Home Depot, he suggested another vendor who was more expensive, but higher quality. That's what you'll be getting from Jeff -- excellence, quality, and experience. In our case, I am confident the higher price was worth it having seen the finished project. I would pick Jeff again in a heartbeat if I were doing another project like this. He's pleasant to work with as well.
Description of Work: Jeff Veglia and team put in a new full bathroom in our third floor. The space was really a finished attic without any plumbing. He and his contractors did everything from install electrical, bring up pipes, put up walls, sheetrock, tile, and install a toilet, shower, and sink.
