Michael and Joseph provided a fantastic service inspecting our future home. As this is not my first home purchase, I have worked with other inspectors and Mike and Joe were by far the most knowledgeable and thorough. We learned so much at the time of inspection and even more from the extensive write up with photos we received after. I highly recommend their service and if I ever need another home inspection they will be my first call.

It was our pleasure to do the inspection for you! Where are you home inspections for clients we try to take all the time it needs to both do the inspection and write the report. We don't "spit out" quickie checklist reports like the fast food style inspectors out there... We put hour after hour into our reports to make sure that you have the information you need from the inspection as you saw especially in the picture portion of the report. Feel free to call us or email us with any questions you may have - when you are our client... you are our client for life!

As a first time home buyer, my thoughts of a home inspection is already scary from the beginning. Definitely had to prepare for the worst. When I arrived to the potential home around12:20pm(appt at 12:30), I already see Mike getting to work. (I thought he was the seller at first) Upon meeting Mike, very inviting right off the bat, he mentions his years of experience, information about what he does. In doing so, we noticed workers hired by the seller working around the house and he advised with caution about foundation work during cold brittle weather. It was cold and windy that day so very great information to keep handy. As they went to work, Him and Joe WENT TO WORK! Unfortunately there was lots of items blocking the view of potential issues. He made note to keep an eye out. After every room/apartment, he reviewed every detail of every room that had issues or what to keep an eye on. Very Thorough. It’s my first inspection ever, although worried and still preparing for the worst, it was expected. I knew nothing was going to be perfect and that’s okay. He kept it real. I’d rather be in the know of the issues and know of the things to keep an eye out than expect the worst blindly. Him and Joe provided a detailed inspection report with Pictures!!!! (Imagine going to a restaurant, looking at the menu with no pictures but words. I love when restaurants have a full menu with Pictures). And WOW, the inspection report (completed/sent within 24hrs) they provided was very detailed, informative, and great to have. With a separate PICTURE REPORT!(within 2 days) you can tell how much input Mike and Joe had put into this for me. I appreciate this! I 100% feel that when you hire their service, they make it known that they work and do their job to protect and look out for YOU. Again, I am new at this, as I’m thinking about it now, I’m really glad Mike and Joe were hired to do the inspection. As they said, once a customer, you’re a customer for life. So if any issues or concerns I have later on, I can always seek their expertise anytime. I really appreciate you guys. Thank you for a 10/10 service

The only home inspector that I have met that is for the home buyer or home owner. Most home inspectors work with realtors and will not tell you what is wrong so you will just buy the house. Not just a box checker. You get a real report with pics and facts that can be backed up with proof. They also stand behind there word and will tell you what to do to fix the problem. If your buying a home you need a home inspector that is working for you. Also I would recommend them to inspect a contractors work before you pay the contractor there final payment. To many times city inspectors give the OK on Bad work.

Thank you very much for the review! We agree with you 100% - we frequently perform not just home inspections but also construction evaluations. We found almost half of the new construction that we've inspected had defects that were not caught by local officials. (You really can't blame the city officials they are overworked, understaffed, and underpaid...) Thank you once again for the great review! And remember once you are client you're a client for Life - feel free to get in touch with us if you have any questions.

I can not recommend Mike and Joe enough. The knowledge and experience they posses is unparalleled. They even arrived early! Incredible attention to detail and invaluable expertise. I knew they were the real deal when they were recommended to me by someone in the industry. I hope they read this, because I can not thank them enough. I plan to use them for a variety of endeavors in the future and HIGHLY recommend them.

Mike came to the house and spent four hours going through this house that was for sale. It was a 2800 square foot home and was only 15 years old. He came up with list of bad things to say about the house and after hiring the experts, were all made up.. He made suggestions as if he was an expert in the areas of Gas, Air Conditioners, roofing, heating, carpentry. I see what people use him because he makes comments and statements and gets the buyers to make the sellers drop their price but in essence he makes things up. His actually opinion was that this 15 year old house needed fifty thousand dollars of work! We had the true experts come in. Gas stove in family room. He said there was gas coming out and after the a well known gas company came out to check it, it was actually perfectly fine. They said it was inside two inserts and sealed at the top and there was no way anything was getting out. We used it almost every day this winter. He said it was leaking at the top of the fireplace and what was on the roof was an old stain from before it was gas and it was an actual fireplace. He said the roof needed to be replaced. It is only 14 years old and this passed winter has zero problems and zero ice damns. He never went up on the roof. We had the experts come by to confirm it is an excellent roof. We cleaned it, stain is gone. He said the attic was too hot meaning bad circulation and this and that. The fan was off and we turned it back on. It is perfectly fine. He said the burner needed to be clean and was omitting fumes into the cellar. Alarm never went off in 9 years of occupancy and a well known gas company did a check up and tested it out to be running at 83 percent which is excellent for this type of system. He said the gas fireplace blower did not work but if he took the time to read a manual or ask he would know that a gas fireplace has to heat up to a certain temp before the blower kicks in. He said there was a can in the attic collecting water and therefore all the heating pipes etc needed to be replaced that run up through the attic. When we looked it was an upside down can sitting there, totally unrelated. no leaks, nothing. He said an add on area of porch was done with screws and is not safe. It is safe and confirmed by carpenters. He said the water filter under sink was corroded ..we never had a water filter under sink. The list goes on but you get the idea. He makes things up for buyers so they can ask for a better price. He also does this to get repeat business from people. This was at least the second house he was looking at. I have the original and I have the expert reports to look at.
Description of Work: He came to do an inspection at a house that was up for sale that last over four hours.

They showed up early which was fabulous and were very thorough. They are a quirky pair (father/son) but definitely know their stuff. Told us things we had no clue about. Gave us insights about the inspection process that were also helpful. Gave us tips for prioritizing and what to not worry about so much. I highly recommend this pair. Even if you're not selling but want to update your home, they may be able to tell you things that could be good investments in the long run.
Description of Work: We are preparing to put our house on the market and didn't want any surprises with a buyer inspection. They came and spent 2 hours looking over everything in our home. From the outside and all floors/rooms in the home. A full report is given on their findings within 2 days and they encourage phone calls with any questions.

Michael was very thorough and professional. My wife and I learned tons about the house that we didn't already know. And as a bonus Michael gave us a book on solving common building problems and an addendum report packed full of additional general information. I would definitely use him again should the need come up.

Great experience, we definitely recommend them. Michael and his uncle were both there early and were extremely professional, thorough and knowledgeable. Inspection lasted a couple of hours. A summary report was faxed to us within 48 hours and a more detailed report was mailed to us within a week. They also gave us a handy book they'd written about home maintenance, complimentary with the inspection. Their inspection reports could seem too detailed and perhaps intimidating to some people, but we appreciated having as much information as possible about the house we were purchasing.

Joseph and Michael Scaduto were on time, if not early. However, they were stuck in the elevator for a good while! Now I know that the elevator isn't safe! I told the seller that I want to see a current elevator inspection certificate before closing. These guys are thorough! It's an older building, but a new conversion with some newer interior construction. However, there were many problems detected, most of which the seller has agreed to fix and some we're still negotiating. I especially want to thank them for pointing out that the furnace is not even safe to operate. I would have had no idea. I couldn't even tell it was old until they opened it up and showed me that it was from the mid-1980's. They also took the time to find where the electrical service is in the basement and where the unit's A/C was on the roof. They didn't just tell me what was wrong and what was good. They explained things to me in detail. In fact, they've published books on home maintenance. Look them up!

They arrived at the properties to begin the external inspections before we even got there. As they finished each area of the house, Michael took us around and explained his findings very clearly. He provided amazing detail and gave us an excellent run-down of what sort of maintenance we can expect in our property. They also provide a wonderful detailed manual that they have compiled in their years in business. If you've ever wished that a house came with an owner's manual, this book provides it. We ended up not purchasing the first home they inspected for us, but I felt that the $350 we paid them to decide that was money extremely well spent. They work entirely via word of mouth, so no worries about Realtors getting a kick-back.
Description of Work: Michael and his father inspected two homes for us during our recent buying process. They performed an extremely thorough inspection of both the outside and inside of both properties, including all systems and structural elements. Their inspections lasted approximately two and a half hours for a 1,700 square foot house.

Michael showed up early and had already begun the inspection of the outside before we arrived for the inspection. His inspection revealed a number of problems that we hadn't noticed but kept the problems in perspective. We purchased the house with much more knowledge about the issues that we would need to address in both the short-term and long-term. He was very polite and very knowledgeable about construction. He answered questions well. The inspection report was received via fax later the same day. The price was very reasonable. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

MIKE AND JOE ARE AMAZING INSPECTORS. THE FIRST PROPERTY WE SAW, AN OLD VICTORIAN, HAD MANY PROBLEMS WHICH WERE NOT OBVIOUS. THEY TAUGHT US AS THEY WENT AROUND WHAT TO LOOK FOR, AND PRESENTED US A VERY PROFESSIONAL REPORT THAT NIGHT! THE SECOND INSPECTION WENT VERY WELL. THANKS TO THEM, WE KNEW WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN SEEING OTHER PROPERTIES! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING THEM!!

MIKE AND HIS FATHER ARRIVED AT THE HOUSE ON TIME, AND THEY DID A VERY THOROUGH HOME INSPECTION THAT LASTED ABOUT THREE HOURS. THE HOUSE WAS EXAMINED BY SECTION, AND AFTER INSPECTING EACH SECTION, MIKE WALKED ME THROUGH AND PROVIDED HIS COMMENTS. AS SUGGESTED, I VIDEOTAPED THESE SEGMENTS. AT THE END OF THE INSPECTION, THEY GAVE ME A COPY OF A 60 PAGE HOMEOWNER'S MANUAL THAT THEY WROTE. THEY HAVE BEEN USED BY MANY OF MY FRIENDS AT WORK, AND EVERYONE HAS BEEN IMPRESSED BY THEIR ATTENTION TO DETAIL. THESE ARE THE KIND OF INSPECTORS FEARED BY SELLERS! WITHIN A DAY OR TWO, A COPY OF THE INSPECTION REPORT WAS FAXED TO ME, AND I RECEIVED THEIR NOTES VIA MAIL. I AM SURE THAT THERE ARE LESS EXPENSIVE HOME INSPECTORS, BUT I AM CONVINCED THAT THIS WAS A WELL-SPENT $600.
